I just went onto Disney's official site to take a look at the Rooms for 5 page (regarding a different thread). And I noticed that POR is no longer mentioned - the only mod listed is Ft. Wildreness. Does this signal a real change after the refurb?

That is very interesting.....I wonder if POR is being elimiated? Well, I suppose we can figure that the trundles are being done away with.....? :confused3

We are going to POR this August and I would be heartbroken if we were not able to return there as a family of five after the refurb. Although I saw the same thing as you on the list -- when I "pretended" to book a vacation next year with two adults and three children listed and chose POR as my preferred resort, I was able to get it -- it mentioned the trundle bed and that it is not recommended for children over age nine. So it looks like you are still able to book it -- at least for now!

Will be interesting to see if the opening of more family suites at Art of Animation has any impact on the quantity of rooms at AB that sleep 5?

Not sure how they would fit a trundle in the room with two queens. Perhaps AB will be rehabbed but keep the doubles so a trundle can be accomodated. Or another type of 5th bed option?

Only time will tell....

Love the sun effect in this one. I can't wait to be the one out sitting on the porch!

I wasn't feeling well my last day and ended up sitting out there for a couple of hours before I had to get on the ME bus. It is the most relaxing place, but also a good place to people watch.....

OK, I did a little more digging, looking at the Places to Stay>POR>Room Types. It's interesting that it shows Riverside Standard View and Riverside Water View as sleeping 5 but lists the Riverside Preferred Room and Riverside River View as sleeping only 4.

If the Preferred Rooms are only in AB, shouldn't they also sleep 5? Or are preferred now in the Mansions?

(Not a big deal to me personally, since I have a family of 3, but just wondering . . . )

The description still shows that some rooms have the trundle bed.

I put in for the first week in June, under price my vacation, and it came up with "some Preferred rooms have a trundle."

Disney's website is known for being horribly inconsistent.

Or consistently horrible. ;)

The WDW site Riverside pages still refer to the Colonel's Cotton Mill on several occasions (including the landing page) and that hasn't been there since the Dixie Landings era ten years (and several website redesigns) ago!

We are back from our stay at POR 6/8-6/14. We requested mansions, Oak Manor or Magnolia Terrace, second floor (DD wanted the "balcony" feel of the upper level). We got Oak Manor, ground floor (making DH happy with no stairs). We did online check-in and I watched the regular check-in line- our time would have been about the same either way. This was probably 3:00 pm.

Our room had no cleanliness or maintenance issues- all was good. We got a towel animal or something every day- one day it was a hammock between the beds for DD's Build a Bears, another time a BAB was wearing an actual lei. Also got a handwritten note that was probably supposed to be from DD's stuffed Clifford dog.

Can't complain about the busses either. We usually went to the East Depot and never waited more than 10 minutes at the resort or the park- usually it was much less! Our timing must have been impeccable :) East Depot was frequently last to pick up and drop off at the resort, once or twice the bus was pretty full when it got there. But there was never very many people waiting at East.

Boat to DTD was nice, I preferred sitting to the front of the boat, the back seemed like there was a lot of noise from the engine- unless it was just a louder boat on the return trip.

Our arrival day there was a cart of towels at the quiet pool, but there never was again. The main pool had towels available each time we were there.

POR gift shop was very helpful to DH in replacing a lost gift card. We only had a prior receipt in which the last four digits were X'd but they were successful in identifying the card and replacing it.

That's all I can think of for a review!

andre also has them on his website; they were released a few weeks ago.

His site is portorleans.org.

I think these are different. The pics posted on disney parks blog are of an actual room, the initial pics that were released were concept art.

Ah, I looked at them; most likely the mock-up they did somewhere on property to take photos.

There is a sample room already done at POR, travel agents got to see it a few weeks ago but no pics were allowed. Must be that.

I am definitely interested in the new Royal Rooms. Does anyone know which buildings they are located in. For that price I want to be on top of the main buildings:lmao::lmao:

Unfortunately they're not that close to the main building. Word is that they're going to be in the last two mansions (90 Oak Manor and 95 Parterre Place)

I want to see a mock up of the "new" refurbed regular rooms!!! I wish they'd hurry up and start, then hopefully, we can get some photos on the sly.......

We are booked for Aug. 21 thru Sept. 1 and we requested the Acadian House, hope we get it.
