I'll be at WDW the last week of February, and Johnny Depp's new AIW movie comes out March 5 I believe. Are there any special things they do at WDW when one of their films is about to be released?

Kind of curious about this too. I'll be going down on March 6th and figured it would be fun to see the movie while I'm there since it will have just been released.

Nope. Not really. For animated features, there is often a pre-parade float or a special meet & greet, but for live-action films ... they haven't done anything special since maybe "Dick Tracy."

:earsboy:

We were there last year when Up opened, and were very surprised there wasn't more going on in the parks for it. The only thing we saw was the addition of the Up characters for meet and greets at DHS and they had some displays of items the animators used for the movie near the Animation Academy. If they treated Up like this, I would assume that they probably wouldn't do much for Alice either.

:sad2: oh well, glad to know ahead of time not to be seeing anything special! I can't wait to see the movie though! :thumbsup2

My DS can not wait untill this movie comes out!!:cool1:,he would love to be down there just to be In the Disney atmosphere whil of the opening!.I hope you all have a great time:goodvibes, let us know If they do anything diffrent?

This is one movie I'm so excited about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Johnny, I mean who doesn't he's Johnny but I'm not the least bit interested in seeing this movie. I don't much care for Tim Burton movies, they kinda creep me out. I think I'd much rather remember Alice in Wonderland thru the imagination of Walt Disney.

Please don't flame me.

No flames.

Just a DITTO to the above.

(The exception for me is Edward Scissorhands. I really like that Depp/Burton collaboration.)

Ditto here as well. No way I'll ever watch Burton's Charley. We'll see about Alice, but I suspect not.

I've read where Mr. Depp has taken the character in...

(how shall I say this?)

a "DIFFERENT WAY." ;)

Time (and the reviewers) will tell what the outcome will be.

I'm super excited about the movie, but I think Alice should have been younger, and I can't wait for the game for the Wii!!!!!!

I wonder how the new Mad Hatter and Alice will impact the characters currently at the parks...

I agree. From some of the pictures and such, it seems a little dark and twisted to me.

I don't love Johnny Depp. He's a good actor BUT most of his movies I don't care for. I did enjoy Secret Window. I am lookling forward to Alice though as i always loved AIW. As for Tim Burton...I like Nightmare Before Christmas now...Didn't like Corpse Bride,Didn't even bother with Coraline, Edward Scissorhands was ok at the time. Please No Flames just my opinion.

From what I've seen, I am under the impression that this movie is sort of a sequel. Alice is returning to Wonderland many years later. That's why she's a young adult in this film.

My DD16 is fanatic over Johnny, as well as the Hatter, so she's DYING to see the movie. (Yes - we'll be at the midnight premiere.)

Her quote the night she saw the trailer released:
"Johnny Depp, red hair, the Mad Hatter, and clown make up. All of my favorite things - could I be in heaven?"

We will be there 3/19 and dining with AIW on the 22nd so can I just say she's a little excited?
