The Never Ending Pre-Trip Report Nov. 11 and New Year's '12!!! - TR LINK! 1/15 Pg33

Great ADR's! :thumbsup2 I'm not a big fan of Teppan Edo, but I seem to be like, the only one on the DIS who wasn't impressed by it! :rotfl: I love Mama Melrose, I'm kind of sad we're skipping it this year! Cape May is awesome!

I don't think you're the ONLY one on the DIS that doesn't like Teppan Edo. Maybe one of two......:lmao:

It all comes down to being a preference thing though, so to each his own, right?

I'm glad that you love Mama Melrose. Your taste in restaurants seems to be similar to mine, so I feel better about our decision to eat there.

I haven't been to Cape May since 2003, so I'm super excited.

Love the choices - they all sound great! :thumbsup2

Having never been I can't really offer any negatives/positives but we have booked Boma for dinner and 1900 PF for breakfast (if that helps!) so am glad to see them make your list.

I think our choices are pretty solid. ;)

You'll be very happy with Boma and 1900 PF. :thumbsup2

I am in! I am doing a girlfriends trip in August - and then we'll back as a family for a long weekend to do the FW.

I love your choices for your TS. I am looking forward to trying Cape May for the first time!

:welcome:

I haven't done a girlfriends trip since I went right after I turned 21. Wow....that was a while ago.

Maybe we will run into each other at F&W.

Woo hoo!!!! I'm doing a super happy dance right now!!!!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I booked our flight today!

I was arguing a lot with the airlines, I'm not gonna lie. I kept on being able to find flights that were reasonable going down to Orlando, but I could not for the life of me find a direct flight that was reasonable on the way back. This was very frustrating. To me, until the flight is booked, the trip is not solidified. I just wanted to get it solidified.

So, I made a few tweaks and found a flight returning to Milwaukee from Tampa instead of Orlando.....and it was a lot cheaper. So I reasoned.

I'm already renting a car so getting there isn't a problem.

The flight is late in the day (6:30pm).

Tampa is straight down the expressway....

I couldn't find a reason not to do it for the price. So we booked.

Milwaukee to Orlando at 6:55pm on Friday 10/7.

Tampa to Milwaukee at 6:30pm on Saturday 10/15.

I'm excited! Farrell was super excited today too, because it's just one step closer to our trip.

I'm in :)
Nice ADRs! And I'm so excited for you that you booked :) We'll be there for the food and wine festival too, but we don't have dates nailed down yet.
Looks like the makings of a good ptr! Sub!

Thanks for joining!

I'm very excited that it's all taken care of at this point.

Who knows, when you get your dates figured out, maybe we'll end up being there at the same time. ;)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've flown out of Tampa before because I have an aunt/uncle with a winter home south of Tampa. It really is a great small'ish airport and easy to navigate through. For a cheaper price and rental car, I think you made the right choice :)

I'm also pretty confident that we're going to win out by missing out the absolutely INSANE TSA lines that occur in MCO. I cannot win for the life of me when we leave from that airport.

Yay for booking your flights! I never even think of checking prices in Tampa! :confused3

You know, I have never thought to do it before either, but the prices just weren't working out in our favor, so I was like, what the heck? Why not try something different.

The airport looks to be on the smaller side, so I think we'll win out there.

So before I post our itinerary, I figured I would post some random fun things about Farrell and I and the fun we've had together.

Our friend Amber has a trailer up in Wisconsin Dells, which has provided some fun experiences for us along the way. We aren't able to go every year, but the times we've gone have been lots of fun.

We always party in this place called Marley's. It's definitely provided some fun times for us.

Farrell loves to dance!

CIMG1547.jpg

The guy making the funny face is my friend Amber's husband Matt. That's his thing. He likes to make strange faces all the time in pictures.

But we always have a good time in the end!

CIMG1560.jpg

As is common on the DIS, Farrell is a fan of a little bit of pole dancing.....

But was a little sad when she was told she had to stop.

On another occasion, Jason, Farrell, her husband Tony, and myself all went to Cedar Point.

And had a fun time along the way.

Actually makes me want to go back......

And with the two of us together, you can definitely expect that you are going to get something like this from us along the way.....

I have no idea who that guy is in the picture! :lmao:

So now that we have our flights (woot!), we can talk about the itinerary for our departure day.

We wanted our first full day in Disney to be that.....a full day. So we decided to fly down after work on the 7th.

So, we are both going to be working earlier shifts on the 7th. I'm hoping to be working 7-3:30pm.

We'll get on the road at 4:30pm. Milwaukee Airport shouldn't take too long to drive to.

Hopefully we will arrive at the airport around 5:15pm. We'll have checked in the night before, so at this point all we need to do is get the baggage checked.

Our plan is to eat at the airport. One thing I've always lamented on in the past is the fact that Milwaukee airport has very little good food in it. And this time, we're flying AirTran, and that side of the terminal doesn't have very good stuff either. We'll find something though. We like food.

Our flight departs at 6:55pm and is set to land at 10:37pm. Hopefully everything departss on time.

We'll get the luggage and I'm hoping to get the car rental by 11pm. I rented through Alamo. I love the self service kiosk!

Then, on the way to POP Century. I would really like to arrive at the airport no later than midnight, but we'll see.

I'm seeing if the knowledge that I have in traveling to Disney will help in my creation of this timeline. When the trip actually happens, let's see if this proves to be true!

Love the pics of your guys! Can't wait to read all about the fun you guys will have at Disney World! :thumbsup2

Hope you manage to make it to Pop Century before midnight.

Yup, I can pretty much guarantee that there will be some very silly photos with us involved.

I do hope we get there before midnight too. I really want to see if I've got travel times and such figured out.

So I'm home from work today not feeling the greatest, so I figured what better time than to post some updates!

Here is my itinerary for this day.

Since we are flying in late the night before, we didn't want to have to worry about getting up really early. So what better way to accomplish that than with a visit to Typhoon Lagoon.

I thought it would be prudent, because I don't want to overwhelm Farrell on her first day and make her get up all early after having a late night.

Plus we don't want this face.

Then it will be time to check in at:

We'll be spending our afternoon in Epcot. My plan is to stick in World Showcase for the day. Then it will be time for dinner at Teppan Edo.

Overall, I think a great day planned. I made another spreadsheet of our plan of attack for what we would like to do that day. We'll see if we're able to accomplish everything. I'll make sure to keep a listing of what we do. ;)

No major attractions in Epcot that day, but I do want Farrell to see everything in World Showcase.

And that's day one!

Can't wait to go to TL and love the pics you have posted! :thumbsup2

Love the to do list and really hope we don't see Farrell's sad face during the trip.
