Day 1 travel day.
Saturday 23rd October
We left Cornwall a little later than I had hoped to, at 6.30am. About 5 minutes in to the journey, it absolutely chucked it down. We even had a lightning strike. Journey from home to the eurotunnel took about 7 hours. Thats with 2 pit stops at the usual, Exeter and Fleet. (It also violently chucked it down driving through France very hard work!) If you read my PTR you will know that neither my Mum nor Daughter had any idea we were going to Disney. Whenever we have caught the ferry, we have got the question Where are you going? from Customs. Having kept the secret for at least 2 months I was fit to burst! So I decided to tell them whilst I was driving. I had bought several clue presents from the Disney store in Plymouth and wrapped them up. I bought them a lanyard and a pin each (I had 1 for myself packed in my bag) and my daughter a Mickey vampire plush. Mum opened hers and said Oh, thats lovely and Erin did the same. I said to her, have you not worked it out yet? Where do you think we are going? She said were not are we??!! OH YES WE ARE! Mum was ever so excited. A couple of minutes later, I looked in my rear view mirror and asked Erin if she was excited. Turns out, she hadnt yet clicked! I shouted out were going to Disney her face looked astounded! She said really?! For the rest of the journey we chatted about what I had planned for the trip and sang along to DLP songs
Eurotunnel was uneventful and we were on the French roads by 358pm.
We arrived at the Premiere Classe in Torcy at around 7pm local time. It took half an hour to find the hotel. I kept ending up in Bay 2 (an extremely large shopping outlet). The room was small (to be expected) and on the 1st floor, but it was clean. So I was happy it having only cost me £157.50 for 6 nights. (Thanks Martin Lewis!) Had a cup of tea, brought some bags up and left for the Disney village around 845pm. We parked in the village car park. 2.20 euros for 1 hr 3hrs 5,80 euros (cant remember how much 2 hours cost). Got to annettes at 913pm. We waited for about 15 minutes for a table (downstairs) then waited another 10 minutes to be served. I had the Be bop burger and Mum had the Rock n roll burger. Included were a drink and a brownie for 17.50e each. Erin had the childs meal. A small hotdog, drink, and ice cream with smarties and choc sauce for 11,90e. I got the shareholders discount so all totalled, came to just under 40 euros. We left about 11pm and got back 1115pm. Took dead on 15 minutes. VERY excited for the following morning but fast asleep by midnight. I had driven about 600 miles in 1 day! ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
