the need to vent

I just need a place to vent about my weekend and complain about a certain hotel chain (ahem, holiday inn, ahem). This weekend my sorority held our annual formal dance at a certain hotel... When we got there I went to jump in the shower to find what I believed to be dirt in my bathtub. My BF assured me it was dirt and that he'd call the front desk. By this point I was already running late. Thankfully the wing held all of the people in my group so I could use another shower. When the maintenance guy FINALLY (after about 20 minutes) got there, he revealed the most disgusting thing of my life. Apparently the next door plumbing backed up and I had "sewage" in my bathtub. That's right ladies and gentlemen, I had human waste in my tub. I FREAKED!! After complaining I got a mere $9 off my bill. $9 for not being able to use my shower and having someone else's "sewage" in it?!?!?! Does this seem off to anyone else???

Then the next morning at 9 a.m. we were awakened to a fire alarm. We evacuated and started to overhear the managerial and hotel staff blamining it on the sorority!! Excuse me, but one of our girls is epileptic and suffered 3 seizures b/c of the alarms. So why would we do that knowing this?! By the time we cleared out the alarm had been pulled 3 times within 2 hours. The absolute disgraceful way we were treated by the hotel AND the police force was amazing!! We were definately guilty until proven innocent. They apparently overlooked the teenagers laughing their heads off about the alarms being pulled... hmm... I wrote a letter to the hotel and to the hotel chain about it b/c I'm so irritated! I know we're an easy target, but PLEASE. Why do people have to be dumb?? We didn't even do anything to make them suspect us! I guess some people just don't think sometimes. Grrr... I really just want to hop my plane for Disney today. I know they don't offend guests and allow someone else's sewage resurface in another room. Sometimes I wish the whole world could follow Disney's example.

I am so sorry that this had to happen to you this weekend. I would have been extremely upset about the tub problem too! $9.00 certainly doesn't seem like enough off the bill to me!

Someone in my sorority did pull the hotel fire alarm. The hotel had security cameras and knew exactly who did it.

Sorry about your ordeal but thanks for bringing back some memories.

Yuck. Sorry you had a bad experience. We just stayed in a Holiday Inn Express this Sat. and it was very clean. No problems at all. So I guess there's good and bad in all.
