Good morning everyone!

I am going to the Myrtles Planation tonight to go on one of their Haunted tours. Has anyone done this before? My hubby says if the place has a gift shop, then it's likely that it's not haunted! It just sounds like something fun to do right before Halloween!

I had been on one many years ago but I think they have beefed up the tours since then. At least I hope anyway! I didn't have any experiences last time!

No, but I have been trying to put together a girls weekend there for a while now. The place is booked up way far in advance to stay there. have fun and report back!

My parents spent a weekend there once. They had a wonderful time. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary but my Mom said she just felt strange being there. I think it might be partly because you are constantly waiting for something to happen. It sounds like fun. Let us know how it goes.

A couple of months ago, my parents, brother and his girlfriend spent 1 night there. They had a good time and enjoyed the tours. My brother and his girlfriend supposedly stayed in the plantation's most haunted room. None of them saw anything unusal but still had a good experience. I'll bet it will be fun to do close to Halloween. It is one of America's most haunted homes!

I love going to the Myrtles Plantation! My best friend and I go on many plantation/historic home tours, and this is one of my favorites! I've never had any paranormal experiences there, but I definitely get eerie vibes when visiting. It is a spooky home in itself. That would be a great Halloween trip!

If you would like to see another home while in St Francisville, I also recommend Rosedown Plantation. It is a beautiful home and has lots of gorgeous grounds around it to explore. It is not haunted, at least not that I know of, but would still be a nice visit. I love visiting St Francisville- lots to do there! :thumbsup2

Yea, we're looking forward to it tonight. We may leave in just a bit and will try to hit Rosedown earlier! I will let you guys know how it is!

That is so cool. I have never seen Rosedown and would love too. Remind your husband that all open to the public plantations have gift shops so he can't escape the spooks that way. :teeth:

We have taken the Myrtles ghost tour several times and have stayed there overnight a few times too. Once I was standing in the hall waiting for the tour to start when the lights suddenly dimmed. The tour guide walked over to the light switch and turned them back up muttering something like "that again". If you see the Myrtles up close, you see how unlikely it is for that house to have anything fancy enough to cause effects!

It can be fun to hang out a little while after the tour if some of the house guests gather on the porch. People chat about past experiences and sometimes other places they've been to.

Have a nice time. I hope that you see "something". ;)

Hey guys! We made it through alright last night. I don't have any experiences to share though. But I will be uploading my pics to the pc in a bit and I'll try to post. Maybe I 'caught' something on film!

Oh yea, when the tour started in the foyer the lights did dim but I don't think it was anything paranormal. Just coincidence maybe!? Hmmmm...

The story goes about this mirror that the actual frame is original. The mirror itself was last replaced in '92. The black smudges came back immediately after it was replaced. There are children's fingerprints on the left side of the mirror also one that looks like a scratch. On the mid-lower right side is a woman's profile. I'm not sure how clear it came out with the picture. But also sometimes in the reflection people may get a ghostly image of a confederate solider or the children or even a lady in white.

I see the little red X!

I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to go to The Myrtles and I only live a couple of hours away!

Oh no! I uploaded them from Photobucket. If you want to pm me, I can email them to you directly.

I took a pic of that mirror also & DO see the woman in my print-it doesn't show up just looking at the mirror(spooky!)

Ooh, I would love to see that!! Can you post it!?!?!??!

Too funny my DH and I watched a show on A&E today about this place. I didn't realize it was the same place until I saw your picture of the mirror and then I tied it together. Confirmed it when I saw the name of the proprietor was Teeta (since my DH made a comment on it - I really wasn't watching the TV since I was carving my pumpkin. Glad you had fun. Looks like a neat place!!

The Myrtles is creepy and I've visited quite a few times in the past. My pics are all packed away right now, but I've got lots of pics with orbs from there. Is it truly haunted or not? :confused3 I think it is, but I think the stories of deaths are elaborated.

Here are some interesting articles questioning the accuracy of the stories told on The Myrtles weekend Mystery Tour.

Wow that is a very interesting read. I was wondering if all these facts (the supposed 10 murders or so) were actually documented.
