The Mummy ride at Universal

I'll let you know what I think in 5 days!!!!!!!! I can't wait to try it!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

My 9 year old loves the Mummy, but I think it is too jerky, fast and rough. I do not plan on riding it again.

Rough? Mummy is one smooth beast if you ask me.

I thought it was pretty good. After all the descriptions I read I guess I had it more scary in my mind- I didn't think it was that scary at all. My younger sister thought it was cheap because she thought it was too short.

and see how scary it is! We were just there the first week of December and we had FOTL passes. Anywho, DH went on with a group of people and he came off and said "Your going to flip out" (we had baby-swapped and I was in the "holding room" with my dd).

I then get in line and one of the mom's in the room had told me to ride in the front row...so, like an idiot, I get in the very first row of the car...then they send me off with NOBODY else with me. OMG, I was freakin out. I bet if the people watching the surveillance cameras were laughing their butts off at me! I was actually terrified and I haven't felt that way since I was a kid! I was so un-nerved that when we left the ride (to immediately get back in line to ride again!! hee, hee) I neglected to look at the picture taken in the ride of me! That would have been classic!

So, that's my story of The Mummy...actually, now, I would love to be riding it!!

:earsboy: :earsgirl: ::MinnieMo

I would really love to try it out. I am not a roller coaster person, so that's why I asked about the drops. I loved the Mummy movies, so I know I won't be scared from the special effects. I'll have to really think about it.

A lot of people who don't like big coasters love ROTM. It's very fun and not too scary.

Excellent ride. Had NO idea what it was at all other than tied to the Movie, went there first with DS (16) who rides anything without fear. He was yelling from the time the coaster part started. Heart was pounding. Awesome thrill ! Went a second time, of course knew what to expect now but still a great ride. Wish we had gone again while no lines. Pretty much worth the price of my ticket that day !

ps The end of our ride was nothing like a few described. We got to the end, a CM unloaded us and we could see through to the load zone :confused3

I'm so excited, I think I will go to this ride first before I chicken out!

what was described that you didn't see?

"That's at the fake unload scene, where it suddenly stops, the fake Team member welcomes you back, the glass breaks, and then .....no more spoilers, well except for the fire." and "I wish they would make this part more obvious that your suppose to get out... Like having real people there to unload you.... edit to add... any CM working in that area would be twice baked at the end of the shift! so maybe not a great idea!"

I have no idea what they mean. When we got to the end, we stopped and we could see ahead to unload area, a video screen was playing with Brendon Frazier, a CM was standing on the unload dock, we pulled up and got out. There was no fake unload scene for us either time we rode.

ps DS did say it needed alittle bit longer because movie wise, you were left kinda hanging.

whenever you go through the treasure room look to the left and you should see a King Kong Statue there :worship:

Actually you had to go through the fake unload. It is where the ride stops suddenly and the ceiling catches on fire, right before your final drop. You probably didn't realize it was a fake unload. One of the guys on another board describes it as "Welcome to Wendy's. May I take your order?" just before Imhotep appears.

Okay, I know the room where the ceiling catches on fire, but I didn't interpret that as a fake unload or even a "stop" of the ride. Just one more part to it all. I guess I'll just have to go back :cool1: :cool1:

We also thought it was pretty smooth, sure beats having the over-the-shoulder restraint banging on your ears.

when you are in the fake unload room, look to the left.

you see the image of an employee.........then the mummy, fire on the ceiling. that type of thing.

it didn't register with me the first time i was on it.
i heard it from people in line when i went back a second time.

Right and you hear on the speakers "we thank you for riding..." or something like that, right before the mummy comes out

"We hope you enjoyed your ride. Please gather all your personal belongings and..."
