The Mr. the Mrs. and the Dining Plan–Our June 09 Disneymoon -**Naples 4/3/2010**

Great update - can't wait to hear and see if you kept your eyes open for dinosaur.

June 28, 2009: Day Six, Part Two – Am I a Dinosaur Failure?

Walking into the line for Dinosaur I felt pumped, I was ready to take this thing on! Feeling very confident I hopped into our rover and we were soon back in time.

My eyes were open...well at least for the beginning. Once that giant T-Rex started growling and roaring at me, I assumed the position and buried my head in DH’s chest while he laughed hysterically. I honestly do not know what my problem is with this ride. It must be the loud noises. I am such a baby.

So yes, I am a Dinosaur failure, once again. I told DH I wanted to ride it again, just to see if I could do it. We decided to try later. On the way out, some people gave us a kid-swap FastPass...we explained to them that we couldn’t use them since we didn’t have kids, but they gave them to us anyways. We decided to hold on them and give them to a nice looking family when we found one.

We decided to head over to Africa and get FPs for the Safari because you cannot go to AK and not ride the Safari, right? On our journey, we found a FP photographer taking some cool shots in front of the Tree of Life.

Apparently we gave birth to a baby lion sometime during the day...the details are fuzzy.

The photographer was really great though, he seemed to do a lot more shots with us than he did with other people. I remember when we were taking the Simba picture, people were looking at us like we were nuts, of course, I knew what he was doing and I was excited to get the Simba picture.

We got our FPs for the Safari for after 2:00 PM, we noticed that the Flights of Wonder show was going to start in about 45 minutes and we had never seen it before. Plus, once that show let out, it would be time for another FP and our Safari. Seemed like a good plan. On our way to the Flights of Wonder theater, we saw Baloo and King Louis, and since we had time to kill, we hopped in line.

Oh my gosh are these two a riot! They spent so much time with everyone, making them laugh, playing little tricks on them, and dancing with them. It was by far the best character interaction we had encountered so far.

It was almost our turn and the Photopass photographer had to fix his camera or something, so he asked Baloo and King Louis if they minded waited while he fixed it and assured everyone that it would only take a couple minutes. While we waited, King Louis and Baloo started dancing with each other. King Louis then started putting his hands up in front of his face as if he was playing cards. He wanted people to guess what song he was imitating. Except no one could figure it out, except me. I yelled, “Are you doing Poker Face by Lady Gaga?” and he started nodding and dancing all around, I told him I liked that song and he was excited that someone knew what he doing. Haha.

Once it was our turn they started fighting over who would get to stand next to me. They were hilarious!!

Baloo is HUGE!

King Louis ended up taking a liking to DH, which was funny. As we said our goodbyes, they blew me a kiss. They were awesome!

Afterwards we stopped for some frozen lemonade and drank it while they were doing the pre-show for Flights of Wonder. They had a owl on display and it’s keeper was asking questions about owls, all of which I knew the answers to because my class did an owl study last year.

Camera638.jpg

Camera640.jpg

We finished our frozen lemonade in just in the nick of time because they had opened the theater and you couldn’t bring food or drink in for obvious reasons. We took our seats in the middle of the theater and soon the show started.

For anyone who has never seen this show, definitely put it on your to-do list. It is very fun and interesting! We had a blast seeing all the birds and couldn’t believe some of the things they do, I do not want to give too much away, but we were pretty blown away. Here are some pictures from the show.

Such a fun time! We will definitely be seeing this one again.

After the show, we headed to our Safari, but felt like playing the drums first.

Camera680.jpg

Camera681.jpg

Aw cmon DH, you are playing drums in AK! Smile!

Camera682.jpg

Much better.

I think before we rode the Safari we snatched up some FPs for Kali River Rapids again, and then we rode our Safari and took a ridiculous amount of pictures, like we always do.

Here are few...

Since we still had time before our Kali FP, we headed to Pangani Forest trail to see the gorillas and other animals.

With still some time before our Kali FP we decided to go check on our favorite animals, the tigers again, besides it is right next to the Kali entrance.

This time our tiger friends were more active.

Camera741.jpg

Camera742.jpg

Camera743.jpg

Camera744.jpg

We were jealous of how refreshing that tiger looked in his crystal clear water!

Camera746.jpg

Camera747.jpg

My attempt at being Vanna White. There is a Hidden Mickey in the mural, I didn’t know about it until after and I saw it on another person’s TR.

Camera748.jpg

Relaxing under a shady tree.

Glad that we got better pictures of the Tigers, we now headed to Kali, where we got absolutely soaked this time. We were not as lucky as we were last time! Now drenched, we headed back to Dinosaur, grabbed some FPs for it and then walked over to Bug’s Life. Bug’s Life, as always, was a fun time.

Since we rode Bug’s Life, we ended up missing the Nemo Show, but it was okay since we saw Flights of Wonder instead, soon it was time for me to try and see the entire ride of Dinosaur for the second time today.

On our way in, we saw a family contemplating whether or not to ride with their kids, it looked like some wanted to ride, others didn’t, so we took it upon ourselves to give them the Kid-Swap FP we had obtained. We explained what it was, and they were grateful. I love making my own little Disney magic for people! 

I was freezing while in line for Dinosaur and in the movie room since we were still soaked from Kali. We boarded our car, got many congratulations from the CMs, and were sent off. I think we were in the second row this time, I believe the first time we were in the first row.

For the second time in the day and the fifth time in my life, I failed again. I didn’t see most of the ride. DH thinks there is no hope for me, and I will never see it. I will prove him wrong, one day.

It was about 5:00 once we got off Dinosaur and we had a 6:25 ADR at Boma tonight, in keeping with our Animal theme. We had to drive back to the GF, shower and get ready for our evening. So we decided to call it a day, and a pretty successful one at that too.

On the way out we visited one of the gift shops, I think we bought a tiger, and then took some last pictures in front of the Tree of Life.

Image192.jpg

Image193.jpg

Image195.jpg

By the time we boarded the tram to the parking lot and walked to our car, it was probably about 5:15, and we were going to be cutting it pretty close for our ADR.

We made it back to the GF and DH pulled into what we thought was the self parking lot. Besides, we had parked there last time and his card worked to open the gate. This time, when he put our cards in, the gate wouldn’t open. So he pushed the button and the parking lot attendant answered and we explained our card wasn’t working. He then asked if we were cast members. We told him, no, we were guests at the GF and we had parked here before. He got really angry and said that isn’t possible to get in without a cast member card. We explained that it worked the other night and we were sorry for the mix up, he very angrily said he would have to open the gate and we would have to park in the correct lot, which is on the right side and technically you can get to from this lot. Well, this very snippy man never opened the gate, he left us there. We now had someone behind us waiting to get in and the guy still didn’t open the gate. We were livid at this point. The man behind us got out of his car and we explained what happened, he very graciously used his CM key and let us in and explained to us where to park. We thanked him and still couldn’t figure out why the parking lot guy wouldn’t open the gate.

Apparently, there are two entrances to the self-parking lot, but the first one is for CMs only, except there is no sign that says that and the other night our key did work. By the time we walked back into the lobby and to our room, we had less than an hour to get to Animal Kingdom Lodge for our ADR. We were off to the races.

Up Next: AKL, Boma, and a Fantasmic evening!

Great update, King Louis and Baloo looked like they had alot of fun with you guys, would have loved to have seen Louis' impression of Poker Face, hee hee :)

Love the Baby Simba pic, so cute :)

You got some great shots of the animals, esp the tigers :)

What a horrible experience with your parking, how rude was that CM, no need for it I tell you.

Don't worry you aren't the only one thats iffy with Dinosaur. We rode for the first time in 08 and you would have laughed at our pic, both cowering into each other. I want to do it again this year, DF not so much, but we shall see :)

I just loved all of your pics from your AK day...you both are such troupers to last all day and go on all of those attractions!!! That little girl asking questions was so cute! :cutie: Loved all of the photopass pics!!
I can't believe the attendant for the gate was so rude. How ridiculous. Glad the person behind you helped out! Hope you make it to your ADR!!!

hi! I am just joining in, I have read through your whole TR! I am enjoying it, you guys are so much fun. I am going for my honeymoon in June this year and i'm so excited so its nice to find someone else who went around the same time! (we are going at the beginning of June)

:lmao: Glad I am not the only one. I always feel silly when the little kids can handle Dinosaur and then there is me, who is scared for my life!

That CM parking attendant was such a jerk! Not very "Disney!"
Not at all!! It was a good thing that he was pretty much the only snippy CM we encountered.

June 28, 2009: Day Six, Part Three – Boma & A Fantasmic Evening
When I left you last, we were frantically getting ready for our ADR at Boma.
Luckily, we weren’t too late for our dinner. The ADR was set for 6:25 and we probably checked in at 6:35, not too bad considering the amount of time we had. It was a major rush and we were nearly out of breath by the time we arrived, but once I entered the Animal Kingdom Lodge, I was so impressed by how beautiful it was, it didn’t matter if we were late or not.

Once we checked in, we were seated almost immediately, we were so happy that we didn’t have to wait. The restaurant was pretty packed, but I was excited to try something new and exotic!

Some views of Boma...
Camera757.jpg

Camera756.jpg

Camera758.jpg

Our server quickly took our drink orders and explained the buffet. It is very cool that there is a different menu each day at Boma. Once he was done explaining, we hit the buffet. There was a whole lot of food and I remember not really knowing what most of it was, but I was courageous and tried a little bit of everything, and DH did the same.

I believe the soup I got was a carrot ginger soup, or something along those lines, I am not quite sure, but I remember going back for seconds because it was tasty. We noticed a lot of the African food on this day had a very sweet flavor to it, so it was hard to eat a lot of it, but it was all very good and different tasting.

I recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to try something different or exotic. I do not recommend it if you have a family of picky eaters!

We made a couple trips to the buffet to refill our plates and try more, but eventually we made it to the ever so decadent dessert table!

Camera750.jpg

We tried a little bit of everything, as you can see!

Not too long after we inhaled our dessert, our server arrived with a surprise...

Camera754.jpg

More dessert!

After dinner, we still had some time before we were had to head over to DHS for Fantasmic. We took the opportunity to explore the gorgeous resort!

We then went outside to view some of the animals. It really is such an awesome resort!!

Camera778.jpg

On our way back through the lobby, we noticed a photopass photographer taking pictures of some families, of course, we waited to get ours done too.

Image196.jpg

Image197.jpg

Image198.jpg

We thanked the photopass photog, who I think did a great job with the pictures, and we started heading to DHS to get seats for Fantasmic. It was so weird walking around DHS in a dress. We arrived at the theater and it was already packed!

Luckily we found seats all the way at end on the left side of the theater in the front row. They had a guy trying to get the crowd energized by doing the wave among other chants and things. We played along for a while as we waited for the show to begin.

Camera785.jpg

Camera786.jpg

While waiting, we were being attacked by the most disgusting little gnats, there were so many above our heads! Eventually they moved on to torture some other people who we heard complaining.

While we were waiting a cute little kid around 2 years old was running around in front of us, while his parents were sitting on the benches next to us. The dad gave his kid some crackers in a little Tupperware for him to eat. Did he eat the crackers? Absolutely not, he took the Tupperware and threw it right into the water where the show was going to be taking place in a couple minutes. DH and I were cracking up!

Camera791.jpg

That is him in the yellow. The dad scooped up the cute little monster and soon Fantasmic began.

Camera793.jpg

Camera806.jpg

Camera813.jpg

Camera819.jpg

I love when the ship of characters come by!

As always, Fantasmic was a great show, we checked the time and realized if we were lucky and if we could get out of the crowd fast enough, we may be able to ride Tower of Terror! It was so hard to get out of there, it was just a sea of people, not moving. Eventually we found a way out, and hightailed it to Tower of Terror, which was on our way out anyways.

We were able to get on before they closed for the night and we didn’t even have to wait in line! This would be my first experience riding any Disney ride in a dress and I have to say it felt quite odd!

Soon we were in our elevator, as usual, DH scared everyone when the lights went out, and before we new it, we were dropping.

ToT...definitely not a good ride to wear a dress on. I could have easily had a wardrobe malfunction if I wasn’t careful, so ladies take note. As we got off the ride a girl heard me complaining of the difficulty of wearing a dress on a ride such as this one. She agreed with me since she was wearing one too and experienced the similar problem. We checked out ride photo to make sure no violations were committed, if you know what I mean, and luckily we were in the clear.

We headed back out to our car, but not before saying goodbye to DHS since this would be the last time we saw it on this trip.

We made it back to the GF in no time and actually parked in the correct parking lot with no problems. On our way in, we offered to take a picture for a nice couple in the carriage in front of the GF, and then they returned the favor.

Camera825.jpg

We made it back to our room and were ready for bed. Tomorrow we would have another packed day as we explore the World Showcase!

Great update, looked like you had a great time at AK and Boma :) Love your dress btw fitted in nicely with the theming :)

:lmao: Glad I am not the only one. I always feel silly when the little kids can handle Dinosaur and then there is me, who is scared for my life!

Kids have no fear I tell you  I guess its just an awesome adventure for them.

AK is gorgeous-- a little too out of the way for us to want to stay there, though. Those photopass pics came out terrific! Sounds like you guys had a great night!!

Yaaaaa! I loved Boma and all the different food! Your dress was so cute! Glad you were able to get there in time~
Funny about the little boy at Fantasmic...so typical! :rotfl:

June 29, 2009: Day Seven, Part – A World of Characters in the World Showcase

The plan for today was to visit the World Showcase at 11:00 AM and explore each country—since there were so many neither of us has ever seen before. We also had an ADR at O’hana, which would be our first time eating there! We also wanted to get on at least Soarin’ and Tower of Terror and lastly, watch Illuminations that evening.

The nice thing was that we were able to sleep in a bit, grab a small breakfast from the concierge lounge, and head over via monorail.

It was a hot and humid Florida day, and we new we would be doing a lot of walking around the World Showcase!
Image204.jpg

Image201.jpg

Once we arrived at Epcot, we headed to Sunshine Seasons for some lunch, I didn’t happen to write down what we ate, but I am sure it was good. We grabbed a FP for Soarin’ for later that afternoon and began heading to the WS.

We began our adventure in Canada, which we had explored a bit on our last Epcot day since we ate at Le Cellier.

Camera829.jpg

Camera830.jpg

We noticed there were some very pretty waterfalls behind Canada.

Camera832.jpg

Next, we visited the United Kingdom and had some fun in their shops. In one of the shops you could look up your last name to find out about its origin, view a family crest, and other things. Then you could order products associated with it. We took some time to check that out and had fun looking up our name as well as our family members. We ended up ordering ourselves a description of our last name to be put a frame and we got my parents one as well. We were told to pick it up later that evening. DH also picked up 100 beer coasters for our bar area.

Some pictures of the UK...

Camera833.jpg

Camera834.jpg

Camera835.jpg

As we started walking out of the UK on our way to a new destination, we saw a line forming outside, it was Alice! We hopped in line to meet her. Well, of course, as we were waiting, it began to drizzle so they moved Alice inside a store, we followed and to our surprise, we found Mary Poppins, Pooh, and Tigger!

Camera836.jpg

I love Mary Poppins, she is so polite!

Camera837.jpg

Alice was sweet too!

As we were waiting our turn to meet Pooh and Tigger, a photopass photographer decided to randomly take our picture and put it on our card. Haha

Image214.jpg

Image212.jpg
Love them!

Image210.jpg

Image208.jpg

We left our cute friends and headed to the next country...France. To our surprise, there was barely any line to meet Belle and Aurora!

Image217.jpg

Image221.jpg

Image224.jpg

Belle was funny, telling us all about her “beast” and how she tried to get him to wear the bridal ears, but they didn’t fit him! Haha
After France we explored Morocco, I was able to take lots of pictures because DH had to use the facilities.

Morocco is such a neat pavilion!

We checked out some of the shops around Morocco and then we realized that Aladdin and Jasmine were out near the lagoon! The line was kind of long, but we got in anyways.

Aladdin and Jasmine were very nice, Aladdin was very much in character, cracking jokes with the guests, the CMs, and Jasmine. I love these pictures!

Image228.jpg

Image225.jpg

Japan was next on our agenda, and even though we had visited on our other Epcot day, we were still excited to have a look around the shops.

Camera857.jpg

Camera860.jpg

The store was jam packed! Everyone was crowded around the pick a pearl station, we squeezed in to have a looksie. I would love to be able to pick a pearl one day—it looks like so much fun!

After hitting up Japan, we visited America, it is so pretty in there! While we were looking around, one of the CMs, who looked familiar to us, approached us and had us listen to a message from Mickey and Minnie on the phone. They were wishing us a happy honeymoon. He then led us to the Liberty Inn, announcing our honeymoon for all to hear and got us a free apple cobbler dessert!

For those of you have read my engagement TR, this should sound very familiar, because the exact same thing happened to us in 2007! It was even the same CM! How weird is that?!

We shopped a little bit, everything was so pretty! Then we saw Mulan, with NO line!

Camera882.jpg

On our way out, we saw this little stand that sells puppets..apparently, I was having a little too much fun with them..

Camera890.jpg

Camera889.jpg

Camera888.jpg

DH had to literally take the puppets away from me. We decided it was time to head back to the GF to change and get ready for our O’hana ADR. On our way out we picked up some Test Track FPs because we would be returning after dinner for Illimunations and our Soarin’ FP!

We monorailed back to the TTC and then back to the GF to prepare for our 5:10 ADR!

Up next: O’Hana!!!!!

we rarely make it thru all the countries in the summer heat, so i am quite impressed with all your stops. pick a pearl does look like a lot of fun. i think i might let my daughter do it this trip. on ebay they sell this cute cinderella coach to hold the pearl , i really want to get it. everytime we have met mulan and mushu it has been with a short line and they are always some of the sweetest characters, spending so much time with the kids. and i love those puppets too. i keep thinking i should get one....i am a preschool teacher and that would be a good school supply dont you think?;)

Great pictures. I especially like the one with Winnie the Pooh and tigger. ((very cute))

My DH and I got married at the POLY back in 2001 and of course honeymooned at WDW as well. I wanted so badly to get the bride and groom Mickey ears, but alas my DH's head was just too big and the groom ears wouldn't fit him. :rotfl:

thanks for sharing your TR. :thumbsup2
