so mil awakes christmas morning to find her little dog running hystericaly around in circles under the christmas tree. mil repeated tells the dog to calm down to no avail, finaly grabbing hold of it to see what's going on.

well... :teeth: apparantly a couple of months ago dmil purchased some of those "sticky pest traps" (paper with a sticky adhesive the pest gets stuck on) and CAREFULLY placed them WAY underneath some cabinets (so the dog can't get to them). sometime christmas eve nite after mil and dog went to bed a little mouse got caught in one, but only it's back legs. little mouse CRAWLS out dragging this trap with it onto the living room carpet near the christmas tree where little dog manages to step on it. result-little dog ends up with live mouse STUCK to it's rear paw, and starts running "away" from the mouse :rotfl:

mil manages after quite a while to calm down the dog enuf to remove the trap (and mouse).

now little dog has a furless spot on one paw, is paranoid about going anywhere near the christmas tree, and mil is going to go the pest removal service route instead.

happy holidays!

p.s. little dog did not get bit-the mouse got stuck facing away from it.

If you had that on video, you'd be a shoe in for a prize from one of those "Silliest Video" shows. It sounds hysterical.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Too funny! I love silly pet stories. With 2 dogs (1 a puppy) and 3 cats (one a kitten) and 2 hamsters.... there is always something silly going on in my house.

Last night as I was falling asleep, I thought I heard the patter of little feet on the roof above my head (hmmmm not reindeer paws...... ), no attic, so it's not mice in the attic.... then  - could only be the kitten!

So I go outside, and look up on the screen enclosure, and sure enough - there is Daphne, having a great time running back and forth! She must have gotten out through a tear in one of the screen panels of the pool enclosure and for some reason known only to her, she climbed up the outside to the top and then on the roof (pool enclosure attached to house - pool literally 6 feet outside bedroom door).

There I am at 11:30pm in my bathrobe chatting with the kitten, wanting her to come down, so I can bring her inside for the night (the cats enter and exit to the pool area by a window I leave open slightly). Finally she obliged and climbed back down! I think my neighbors think I am crazy with all the antics of my critters!

This kitten is such a climber, my other two 4 year old girls are not.... so this was a first for me!!!!

I started smiling just from reading the title. Too funny. :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Not as funny, but this morning, my dog Missy didn't realize that my DH had spent the night on the couch (no we didn't fight, long story!) and when she went downstairs and saw "something" on the couch way across the room, she didn't recognize him and started barking a growling at him like he was a stranger! She just stood their at the bottom of the stairs, acting like she had just cornered a serial killer. I had to go down and walk her over to him until she was close enough to figure out it was DH. Then she started licking him all over. Gee, what a great watch dog!

That is too funny! I'm not sure whether to feel bad for the poor mouse or laugh at the pup.

:crazy2::scared:I think if it would have been my pet, they'd still be stuck with the mouse. *eew*

I hate both mousetraps and glue traps.

The last time I had a (living) mouse, I used a Have-A-Heart trap. You put a piece of cookie inside the trap. When the mouse runs into the trap, it counterbalances with the mouse inside. Then you carry the mouse and the trap outside where you can free your mouse.

Or, if you are like me, you wrap the trap in a full size sheet, and then freak out that you are holding something with a mouse in it, take an elevator down 5 flights and THROW the sheet outside, run after it, and then take the sheet back upstairs to be washed repeatedly. Not sure what happened to the trap or the mouse.

I have cats now.
