The Mother/Daughter Polynesian Surprise **NEW 5/1 I'm back!

Glad you had a good time, but sorry to hear about the tears. Yes, the end of an era. The former CM DISers who I've seen post about it speak very fondly of their time in the employ of the Mouse.

Looking forward to the start of the TR.

Aww, your trip is already over?! :sad2: Can't wait to hear about it though!

:rotfl2: You and your arm flab! Gimme a break...I didn't notice any in the pictures you posted.

My score wasn't good enough to do much crowing about, but some friendly taunting with you and jenbear is fun.

I think you meant to type "Too bad my trip isn't before..." Anyway, you could do the wise thing and just concede and buy me that drink anyway. One $13.00 lapu lapu please. :rotfl:

I like to joke about it! Honestly it isnt' too bad, just "softer" than Michelle Obama's. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes, that's what I meant. Clearly not enough coffee in the veins while typing that.

Concede, though?? Ummmm..... never.

Hey there folks! I'm back from a wonderful trip. It was definitely the end of an era as this was the last trip Bubba was a cast member. :sad1: There were quite a few tears.... I have LOTS to share with you but today I've been very busy unpacking, doing laundry, uploading photos, etc. I'm hoping to start up my TR tomorrow so keep an eye out for the link. I'll post it here when it's ready. Stay tuned :goodvibes

:yay::yay::yay::yay: A TR about to start!! I have wonderful memories of my CMing time too in college. I wasn't on the program (not even sure they had that in the dark ages) but loved every minute.

:wave2: Welcome Home! --> That just doesn't have quite the ring to it as when you hear it at DW, does it? :upsidedow All the same, though, glad to have you back! :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear you had a good trip despite the tears & end of Bubba's CM term. At least she has the road trip of a lifetime to take her mind off things.:car:

I can't wait to start reading your TR. :surfweb:

Thank you for welcoming me back everyone. I'm having a really hard time getting back into the swing of things. I listened to the Illuminations soundtrack this morning and nearly bawled my eyes out  I keep trying to remind myself that I'm going back in less than 2 months (THANK GOD!) I'm not really sure how or why I'm so addicted to the most magical place on earth (gee, if that doesn't give reason enough, I'm not sure what would) Every time I go I try to take in every second to try and engrave it into my brain. But it always feels like I forget things. Thank goodness for cameras!

I'm seriously considering the International program that Bubba just finished. The thing that is holding me back is my job that I currently love and my DBF. I'm thinking that if I'm still in the same spot at my job 2 years down the road that I am in right now, I'll quit. By that point I will have 4 years TA experience. That will surely be enough to get me back into the business if needed. The REALLY tough part would be with DBF. I can't see the long distance thing going very well. And I'm not about to break up with my man of 5 years over Disney, as much as I truly love the place. But, if he's understanding and will let me go work with Disney for a year, that would be great. Can't deny it won't be hard not seeing him though. :sad2: Who knows. A lot can happen in 2 years - heck a lot can happen in one year! I just.... really miss Disney right now

One other thing - Yesterday, my first day back from Disney, my DBF had a surprise for me. And you know what it was? He had gotten me an HD version of the Lion King!!! Only my favourite Disney movie ever!!! It was definitely what I needed having just come back.

Awww, well see - he IS understanding of your love for Disney. He knew just what you needed. I love that movie too.

Can't wait to hear about your trip with Bubba as you continue to plan for the next one.

Welcome back!

Poor girl....sounds like you've got a bad case of post-Disney depression. Sorry to hear about that. Hang in there. One of these days the sun will come back out and that'll help. And you're going back again so soon! It was very thoughtful of your boyfriend to get you that movie.

I understand, I'll probably be going through the same thing when I get back. At least you're going again soon though, who knows when I'll get back. :headache: I saw an article in my school newspaper today about the college program and asked myself again why I don't just sign up for it. I've got my pros and cons for it and I'm just not sure it's something I want to do.

The Lion King is such an awesome movie. I watched my original 1995 copy on VHS over break and I hadn't seen it in years. I caught all the humor I missed when I was little and it's now tied with Beauty and the Beast as my favorite movie.

I love The Lion King. Your DBF sounds like a keeper, Jen. Maybe he could also find something at WDW.

Welcome back!

He is good that way sometimes. He knows what makes me happy :cloud9: I'm hoping to get started on it tonight. I still have tons of pictures to upload

Oh the warm sunshine would certainly help. All this snow is not perking me up one bit. Writing my trip report will help! It will make me reminisce in all the great memories! By the way, I got a pretty impressive score at TSM..... but was it or was it not enough to beat yours? You'll just have to wait and see!

If you have the chance to do the college program, DO IT! It looks great on your resume. You get to meet lots of new people and make friends for a lifetime.

It would be even harder for me if I didn't know when I'd be going back again.

I like the original VHS Lion King more. With this new "Morning Report" song, it makes me cringe everytime I watch it.

I love The Lion King. Your DBF sounds like a keeper, Jen. Maybe he could also find something at WDW.

He definitely is. One of a kind for sure. He has mentioned he'd come to Disney but only because he'd want to be with me. Glad to hear your a fan of the Lion too! :woohoo:

I'd think you did beat mine since you almost did last time, and I imagine you improved your score. But if you did, wouldn't you want to start rubbing it in now? Hmmmm. :scratchin

Oh, and of course I'll continue to update here now and then too

Aww, you sound like me. It is hard coming home but it's so much easier when you have another trip planned. Like you I don't know how or why I got so crazy about Disney but I love it. :goodvibes

I swear, if I didn't have another trip planned, I would not be able to stop crying!

Speaking of being emotional, last night I was listening to the Princess and the Frog soundtrack. This was the only CD Bubba had in her car during the whole trip and it was all we listened to. Naturally, it reminded me of Disney and being with her. Then the flood gates opened. I don't know how, I don't know why but suddenly I started crying. Must be hormones or something..... you know how Aunt Flo can be  I don't normally get this upset when I come back from Disney! Gee, you think I like the place or what?

Good day, matey's! It's been a while since I talked about the April trip, hasn't it? Today marked quite a big change.

I was pondering over the flight times we got with Air Tran. The flight we currently have wouldn't get us into Orlando until after 7pm. This meant that our first day would be pretty much a write off. We'd arrive just as all the parks are closing, which would be a waste of one day of my mom's park ticket. This just would not do.

So I started researching :surfweb:

At first I looked at extending our stay at the end, coming back either the Saturday or Sunday. We'd have to move back to Pop Century since the Poly is just too expensive over the weekend. The hotel aspect worked out fine for this option but the flight, not so much. It would cost us $300+ just to change our return to Saturday. YUCK! We might as well have bought a flight out of Toronto for that kind of money.

Then I looked at flying down a day early. :scratchin

That's the ticket!

To make a long story short, we changed our arrival date to April 21st. We'll be staying one night in All Star Music (Pop wasn't available with my discount). We'll use LS to transfer our luggage to Pop in the morning. Has anyone ever used this service before? I might have asked this already so I apologize in advance if I have. Do you just tell them you're moving to a different resort and ask them to transfer your luggage over?

I plan to start working on the April itinerary this week. Stay tuned :goodvibes

Yeah, more time in the world! I've never moved resorts, so I'm not sure about LS & your transfer. I would imagine it works well since it seems a lot of people do split stays & use them.

Can't wait to hear more about your April trip! :thumbsup2

I'm actually thinking about taking a taxi now. I looked up the distance on Google and it doesn't seem that far, maybe 5 minutes. LS is great and all but I found a thread on here about people using their services and not seeing their luggage for 8 hours :scared: Not sure that will go over so well with my mom. Plus, since we won't have a car, we'd have to take a bus to a park and then transfer over to a Pop bus. It would take way too much time. As we all know, time is invaluable when you're in Disney. Mears offers taxis in the area so I might use them since they also run ME. I can't imagine the taxi fare from All Star Music to Pop Century being more than $10 with tip...
