The most you ever paid for a hotel room poll.

We have paid in the $300-500 rate for hotel in New York before, but I prefer to keep my hotel in the $100-150 range normally.

We're at the high end of the poll. Our house is paid for, our cars are paid for, and the kids are moved out. We both work full time, and when it's time to go on vacation, we splurge, baby!

Our most expensive was $900 per night in Fiji. But tax and meals were included, and the 7th night was "free."

We are retired dinks and really splurge on vacation so we tend to spend over 500.00 a night for a resort hotel whether its Disney, Hawaii or anywhere else.

That's what I was wondering - for those that have paid big $$ for hotel rooms, did you feel it was worth it?

We have paid $179 for a regular room and $240 ish for a studio at BVW many moons ago. I too am in the less than $100 crowd. It amazes me what some hotels charge. I've gotten really nice rooms at hotels with nice amenities for $69 per night and I've paid $130 per night for poor service & a bed - all at national chains.

BTW since I asked. The $179 was for the Hyatt at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore & yes it was well worth it. We actually ended up with 3 rooms overlooking the harbor for that $179 due to a mistake made by Hyatt ressies & then by the front desk staff. Others attending the same wedding were ticked because for their $179 they recieved a standard two bed room with no view.

Now everytime we drive the hour to Baltimore my kids think we should stay at the Hyatt. I tell them "as soon as I hit the MegaMillions"

We've stayed at the Hyatt at the Inner Harbor and you got a very good rate. I agree that for the location alone that Hotel is wonderful but on top of the location it's a beautiful place in it's own right.

As far as my comment about The Hotel Hershey, what made it so worth the price besides just the beauty of the hotel were all the activities the recreation staff did for families. There were scavenger hunts, bingo, hay rides, turkey trot, character meet & greet, holiday caroling with refreshments. On top of all that they have a beautiful indoor pool and a great fitness center.

We spent over $700/night after taxes for our honeymoon room at the GF. Thanksgiving we went to the JW Marriott in Phoenix and that cost around $400+/night.

We paid $330.00 per night at the Hotel Hershey in 2001. We only stayed for two nights and we thought it was a great hotel. If we were staying for a week, I would try to find something less than that, but I would like for it to be nice, have onsite restaurant and MUST HAVE interior corridors. On the way down south, I'll pay for a cheap, one night stopover at a Red Roof Inn or something like that, but I wouldn't want to spend my vacation there.

I'm cheap when it comes to paying for hotel rooms.... kills me to spend more than $100 a night, but I have paid $160.

I'm with you. The most I've paid was $149 when we were stranded at an airport. Priceline, Coupons, anything I can do to keep it down so I can spend money on other things. I have a pretty low bar (clean and relatively quiet is all I really care about as a general rule). Would much rather have more opportunities to travel and stay at cheaper places than one trip a year staying at a nice hotel. Luckily I do a certain amount of business travel that my 3* hotels are paid for. Unfortunately, DH's idea of camping is slow room service so the bars gone up a little bit but even so, I'll try to economize.

We have paid $350 per night for Poly Concierge, $425 per night for an ocean front room at the Westin Maui, and $350 night for Hilton Hawaiian Village Alii ocean front room.

all very worth the money, EXCEPT the Westin Maui. what a disappointment.

$300 for one night at the Sofitel in NYC. Last minute trip for Spring Break and we had to fly through NY. It was not worth it, but it was the lowest priced nice hotel I could find

Now if it had been the St. Regis or the Four Seasons, I might have thought it was worth it. But those were either sold out or over $500 at night.

Not, we live 20 miles from there, that was strictly for a junior suite. And, in Chicago, there is a 18% tax that was added

I think we paid $485 for a CL AKL room this past Jan. We could splurge because DH's brother gave us the rest of the week at OKW as a gift. I was really hoping it would be less but WDW never released a room onl discount for the winter

We typically pay less than $100 but have paid around $200.

We could not afford to stay onsite without DVC. One of the best things we ever bought.

At the Poly. With the exchange rate (Jan 1998) it ended up being 450 ish a night. We stayed 5 nights. YIKES!!

At Disney, the most we have paid was $220/night when we stayed at the Boardwalk. I really would have a hard time paying more than that at Disney, which is why we have not been back to the Poly on my dime.

We paid about $350 per night for the Grand Californian in Disneyland. It was worth it but paying that much for a hotel room is a splurge for us.
While in Disney World we always stay at a moderate (hopefully w/ a discount)
Anywhere else we really don't like to pay over $200 per night.
