The most wonderful parents!

We have been seriously considering whether we can afford our wedding next December, what with the economy in general, job worries, exchange rate etc. We are £2500 ($3800) off the amount we need in total which will be ok a long as our jobs hold out, but we haven't got any spending money.

My mom called to say that they are giving us our spending money as our wedding present as we were adamant we didn't want anything towards the wedding itself! How fantastic is that?! So (hopefully) Mickey here we come!!

I know how your feeling about the money situation, we have been seriously talking about whether we will still be able to afford our wedding.

We have our trip to plan things in a few days and that is already paid for otherwise I would be using that money for the wedding.

whether we have our DFTW will probably depend on the conversion rate a year out from our date. There's no way we'd be able to have one with the AU$ what it is at the moment.

Thats so lovely of them. I'm hoping the $/£ picks up a bit by the time next December comes round and wondering if we should cut back or not. We have enough money but it is supposed to be for buying a bigger house as well as the wedding and if we spend more on the wedding now we'll have to wait to move.

We have the Honeymoon Registry set up but I don't think we'll get too much through it as there are only 9 guests. We have $30 on there so far from our cats - I think my Dad may have helped them

I think you parents are great! Remember to thank them often!! Just Remember that certain things in Dec. cost more (ex. the DJ/Music) So make sure you factor that into your budget..Check with you planner...

We're just going for the standard Escape package so hopefully we'll be ok, but I will double-check. Don't want any nasty surprises!
