The most underrated place to eat at WDW is....?

We really like Boatwrights at POR The atmophere is great, very relaxed. The prime rib is awesome as is the ribs. Try this place you will not be dissapointed. :cool1: :stir:

I agree with Flame Tree - great BBQ. We love Pirate & Parrot (rarely open) and the Rose and Crown bar area. You can get one great fruit and cheese plate there!

CS - Pepper Market...best bang for you buck
I'm staying at CBR but will make a special trip to CSR for a CS meal

For sure my CS choice would be the Sassgagoula Food Court @ POFQ. The Sweet Potato chips are awesome!!!

H&V is one of our family's favs:

*buffet - something for everyone

*fantasmic pkg. available

*friendly, unpretensious, waitstaff

We eat here every trip.

Your right on the money. Hollywood and vine has good food, kids like it for variety. I loved the steak with their sauce. The cheapest fantsmic pkg and not to hard to get into. Food isn't gourmet, but very good for $24. :thumbsup2

Tusker House at AK. The rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and veggies are great. Counter service, but not typical "fast food" burgers and fries.

Plutopuppy's daughter here. I personally think Garden Grill is up there for character meals. Even a picky eater like myself found something to love, and we had one of the funniest family experiences there. Which leads me to tell it.

The Story

Me and my parents had dinner at garden grill, and we had seen all 4 of the characters- mickey, pluto, chip, and dale. Chip and Dale were coming aroung together a second time, and they stopped at our table. They were joking around and stuff- so it was no surprise when chip took the salt and pepper shakers and put them in Dales pocket! Then, he took the box with all of the sugar and stuff and put it in his own pocket- after he took a handful of stuff and put it on the table! Then, Dale took some salt and pepper and sprinkled it on the table. Me and my family just about died laughing!!!! Oh, now I'm laughing just thinking about it!!

TS - Grand Floridian Cafe, fantastic service and the best sandwiches and desserts in WDW, chocolate fondue need I say more

CS - Cosmic Rays never seems to get a mention, great fixings bar and as for entertainment, there's nothing else like it. It was the first WDW restaurant we ever ate at and I have very fond memories of the occasion.
A close second is the Floatworks at POFQ just for the beignets, heaven

I am hoping the Plaza is as good as you all say as I have booked it for something different before MNSSHP this October.

This is a great thread!

Pizzafari. This restaurant is like an oasis in AK. It's cool, colorful and the food is really good too. Everyone talks about Tusker House and Flame Tree, but Pizzafari, well, that's where it's at. :thumbsup2

For CS--definitely Tusker House in AK. For TS--I think Marrakesh. I guess most people are scared off thinking it's going to be too exotic for their tastes, but I believe it is one of the most unique eating experiences in the world. Oh, and I agree with Garden Grill for character meal--great fun, great food!

Another vote for CHH. If they had characters you would never get in there.

I agree! It's my favorite place to eat-can't beat the hot deli sandwich there.

Underrated as a criteria is hard to establish. For me, underrated means you don't hear a lot about it on these boards. A few of those above have mentioned some eateries that don't get much press, and I'd like to add 1900 Park Fare to that list. The buffet is full of fresh foods, some prepared at the stations (such as the shrimp & fresh asparagus alfredo or the bananas foster) and others that you just don't find anywhere else (fresh strawberry soup and portobello ravioli, e.g.). The service is excellent (yeah, yeah, I know, it's a buffet, but they still keep the glasses filled and plates bused), along with being able to meet Cinderella and dance with Prince Charming. We enjoyed the place immensely last week!

Grand Floridian Cafe
Olivia's
Plaza Restaurant
Wolfgang Puck Cafe
while sometimes "controversial about the food" we also like Big River Grill and Brewing Works
Concourse Grill has excellent food, but does remind me of the "local steakhouse" for some reason. The monorail whooshing overhead is neat
Yachtclub Galley
Alfredo's

We have found that the least talked about are in most cases the best for some reason. The popular ones are VERY "strongly opinionated" by people. Either REALLY like and raved about or REALLY dislike and "never again".

I have to agree about the Plaza! During our last trip a few weeks ago, I tried the Reuben and the Banana Split, since it was our 1st time in the Plaza! OMG, they were BOTH soooo good!! We will definitely be going back!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
