My DH bought DD a refillable mug on our second to last day! She wanted it as a souvenir and DH can't say no!

We just got home yesterday. Paid oop and had our last dinner at Narcoossee's. Cost $322 before tip for the four of us. Totally worth it for a great meal, and a really nice time. Our kids enjoy a good meal as much as we do and are fun to hang out with these days.

Were you talking about just Disney? That's what I was talking about. In real life, we have done plenty of unbudget things!

At Disney... The Perfectly Princess Tea Party. I don't remember the exact price now, but it was in the neighborhood of $250 for tea and sandwiches for my mother and then-6yo daughter. That was on our "once in a lifetime" trip to Disney World in 2005. See my siggie for how "once" worked out for us!

In general... Private school. Worth every dime, but going from good public schools to great private at a cost of ~10% of our annual income isn't exactly a budget-wise decision. And it'll be even less so in a few years when we'll have two kids in college and one still at that private elem.

Disney related, it was the Princess lunch at Epcot. Our whole trip was a budget trip but that was our one splurge! It was totally worth it though! The picture of us with Belle is still one of my all time favorites!

Non-Disney related, it's probably trying to start our own business and having to close it. We were living on a shoestring as it was, but now we have a loan and a bunch of maxed out credit cards to show for the whole thing.. Still, it was a dream of DH's to try and we certainly gained some serious life experience.. We will eventually dig ourselves back out of debt..

At Disney...we thought our trip years ago to WDW would be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. We stayed at the Contemporary and did everything first-class. Well, we've gone 2 times since then and they were both budget trips.

In life...I bought Rolling Stones tickets for $1500 for the 2 of us even tho DH thought they would only be a couple hundred. I did tell him, eventually.

At Disney- forgot to equate time with money. Should have hired one of the grocery services instead of going ourselves, and sent a cab for my mother at Windsor Hills instead of going to get her the day she wanted to sleep in.

Spent $50 ish on snacks/drinks from the new fantasyland.

5 blue slushies- they were yummy!

1 candy apple which was the bargain.

1 caramel apple with nuts that dh and I split.

booked a none DP restaurant for a meal last trip. i think they accepted platinum plan (fulton's) and i somehow did not notice they did not take DDP when i booked. we put our keys on the table and the guy did not say anything about them when we ordered our bottle of wine, or our two apps. truthfully the meal didn't seem that pricey to us, but we had upgraded to deluxe, so we had paid for three meals that day already.

thankfully i had a stroke of genius on the last day, we got box lunches to go at main st. bakery and ate them at the airport, so no meal credit got left behind

We went on the Wild Africa Trek one year. It was a great experience and worth every penny.

On this last trip it was either the dinner at 'Ohana or the 3 pairs of crocs flip flops I bought at Universal (about $120) when our feet were hot!

Wishes dessert party on Mother's Day. There are 5 of us and we probably ate 1 small plate of food combined. Oh well, was a nice view but we won't do it again.

Hi, I think going to Disney World on short notice is a very unbudget thing to do.
Normally I would want a year to plan a trip but we are planning to go for thanksgiving which is coming up quickly! Too quickly!

A poly club level holiday week was our Disney splurge. I would not repeat it tho it was awesome. Believe it or not, POR preferred room is still my all time favorite despite it being a mod.
In non Disney world.. A surprise rccl cruise with xtras for hubby, with the family....amazing awesome fun!

Earlier this year my dd and I made one of our frequent day trips to Disney, and as we were leaving she said "Man, I wish we could stay in one of the hotels here." So I went to guest services and booked a night at the pop for that night. Completely surprised the heck out of my daughter, and she tells me nearly weekly how it was the best night of her life.

Luckily we'd packed a bag because my mom wanted us to spend the night at her place the night before that didn't happen, but I'd kept the bag in the car. It was completely perfect, and now I have complete reason as to why I never unpack my trunk, lol.

Lunch at CRT! $100 lunch for a 4 year old and 1 adult. But it was worth it. So worth it that me and DD are doing it again on this trip! One lunch is more expensive than one night stay at the hotel.

Non-Disney related--- Buying a couple of Coach purses. Still got them at a great price though from the outlet store w/ a coupon.

I don't think that this is a ridiculously unbudget thing to do, because of the fact that you would pay quite a bit for the souvenir mug anyway, so to me, any soda refills you get are almost like a free bonus.
