Was hoping to get some opinions on this. My Fiance and I are both going to be first timers at Disney World on our honeymoon, and of course there has to be at least 1 totally romantic dining experience while we are there. What, in your opinions is the most romantic place in the world to dine?

Oh, and one more quick question, if we are on the dining plan, and were wanting to dine at a "2 table service credit" restaurant, could we do that on our first night? Like, could we use that days TS credit + the following days? Thanks for any input!:thumbsup2

PS: I'm so excited! :rotfl: :hyper: Also... Can't wait to see Fantasmic!

To answer the second question first - yes, you can use Table Service credits at any time once you have checked in. You will be given a certain number of Table Service credits and you can use them whenever you want to until they are exhausted. Thus, you can very much dine at a 2 TS restaurant the first night you are there.

Now to answer your second question - my personal choice for a romantic place to eat at the World would be Narcossees at the Grand Floridian. It is a very small and quiet place that is almost completely surrounded by water. In the evening you can watch the MKs fireworks (they pipe in the music) and then the Electric water parade. It does specialize in seafood so if that is not your thing, you may want to venture elsewhere.

Another suggestion would be the California Grill at the Contemporary. They have an excellent Filet and delicious sushi.

I would not suggest any of the in-park restaurants as romantic places as they all tend to be quite loud and busy.

NOTHING compares with V&A.

California Grill and Bistro de Paris get good marks as well.

V+A? not sure where that acronym is referring too.

California Grill sounds enticing, as we're both Sushi fanatics! It's funny though, I like the sound of Narcossees for atmosphere, but while we love sushi, we're not huge fans of seafood. Unless they serve crab legs, we both dig on those.

Anyhow, thanks for the input and keep those suggestions coming! ;)

Narcossee's is wonderful, and there are other choices than seafood there. Here is a link to a recent menu: http://allears.net/menu/menu_nar.htm

I would also recommend Jiko's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge -- great ambiance and wine list in addition to the food.

And, of course, there's always room service....

V+A is Victoria& Alberts, also in the Grand Floridian. Very elegant.

The only really romantic restaurant at WDW, with any real sense of romance, is Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian.

All the rest have open kitchens, lots of kids, people arriving straight from the parks in shorts and sandals and general mayhem.

Having said that, some are worse than others. California Grill has delicious food, but is noisy and chaotic, especially before the fireworks. We always go after the fireworks around 10 pm. It is reasonably quiet by then.

Narcoosee's food is not as good or as creative as California Grill. If you go later, you should be okay, there, but we don't find it very quiet most of the time.

Jiko is wonderful for food and wine. But, because Animal Kingdom Lodge is a long ways from anything else, many people show up with kids -- even late into the evening. We've seen families with 4-5 kids show up at 10 p.m. So, be prepared for noise.

Many like Citricos. Again, the food is better at Citricos than Narcoosees. The night we were there, however, it was horrifically noisy. We were there around 7 pm on a night that featured a Mickey's Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, so perhaps that was part of the problem. Lots of kids and adults in costumes and lots of noise and confusion.

We find Artist Point can be on the quieter and more romantic side, if you go after 8:30 or 9 p.m.

Flying Fish we have not been to in years, but it was noisy last time we were there.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is quieter than most in our experience.

That's about it. None of the 1TS restaurants is even remotely romantic anymore. That wasn't always the case, but since the advent of the Disney Dining Plan, it's a sad fact. Generally, 1TS restaurants have poor food and no atmosphere.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there it is. The answer is V&A!

We actually think there are many 1TS restaurants that have great food and a great atmosphere! As far as romantic I would suggest a 2 TS Signature Restaurant. We love California Grill! We have always gone and timed it so we could see Wishes towards the end of our meal. I know that people say it is loud, however, we have never found it to be a problem. We are going again in October for our anniversary dinner and can't wait!

We like California Grill - even if it noisy before the fireworks - There is nothing like the dimmed lights - the piped in music - the beautiful fireworks! Also, we love the food - great menu.

Congratulations

We had the best meal at Jiko and the atmosphere was great, the service was A++++ and it was a very nice and intimate experience....cannot wait to go back

Victoria & Albert's is not on the regular dining plan, if that is important to the OP.

I tend to agree with ElizabethB about the romance quotient of most Disney restaurants. With that said, I think making your reservations later in the evening (after 8:30) helps.

I didn't find California Grill the least bit romantic. Cool, yes. Also, food is not our favorite there.

My choice is Jiko. Then, Narcoossee's and Citrico's. The only signature we haven't been to is Artist Point - keep meaning to try it - but it seems like it is a possibility.

My husband and I went to Disney for our honeymoon and planned only one signature (2 TS) restaurant:

California Grill.

It was DELICIOUS, I didn't find it too noisy whatsoever, the ambiance was wonderful, we had a table overlooking Magic Kingdom, and the waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable.

Add in the balcony view of Wishes (the fireworks) and it couldn't have been more romantic. There was even an adorable little girl right next to us, during Wishes, who loudly states: Grampa, I want to LIVE in Orlando! Haha, we caught that on tape, it's priceless!!

I loved that place, I would give it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 out of :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !!

Again, IMO, nothing compares to V&A for romance. Bistro de Paris, may be close but it also is not on the dining plan and has no children's menu, hence it is more adult in atmosphere.

Out of the signatures on the dining plan, I think Jiko has a tendency to have less children dining there, particularly late. We have often had a quiet adult meal there, late though. The restaurant is fairly dark too which adds a hint of romance. The best offerings here are the appetizers though, which will not be included in the regular dining plan. Artist Point generally is quieter also but the decor is very rustic and doesn't make romantic thoughts swirl through my head.

CG is noisy to be sure but the sushi is fantastic and the view is stunning, if you can block out all of the noise. Citricos has some of the best food but it does lack atmosphere and can be noisy but we have dined here when it's been a very adult and romantic atmosphere too. We think Flying Fish has some of the best food available but it's noisy there, like CG, even if you dine late. Yachtsman is generally quieter but it's somewhat "bland" in atmosphere. Narcoosees is our least favorite both in food and atmosphere, just one notch above a Red Lobster chain place. The views are pretty though but our last 2 trips here have been so disappointing with crying kids and noise from the bar.

There's also HBD at DHS but it's not romantic at all.

If your going to Disney on your Honeymoon then Victoria and Alberts would be my choice, there is nothing else that comes close to equaling this dining experience. Children are not allowed (kids under 10 anyway, but Iv only ever seen adults in there) The lighting is subdued, the harpist plays quietly creating a beautiful ambience, the table setting is beautiful, the service is exceptional and the food is heaven on a plate. I would skip the DDP for your special night and pay OOP for this ultimate, indulgent, romantic dining experience. :goodvibes

Yes, it really is THAT good :thumbsup2

My husband just took me to Citrico's for my birthday on January 24th and the food was spectacular and we had the best time. We had a very happy, relaxing and romantic meal. We've also been to Jiko's many times and I love it there and Artist Point is very romantic.

Lot's of people suggested Victoria & Albert's to you, but it is important to keep in mind that this described as a "culinary experience." The food is gourmet & not your average food you are going to find in most restaurants. If you or your fiance are picky or squeamish eaters, V & A's is not for you. The menu always changes, but you might want to take a peek at a sample menu to get a better idea.

If you are looking for a romantic atmosphere & more traditional food, you should try Narcoosees during the fireworks or Artists Point at the Wilderness Lodge.

If you want a very special, very romantic dinner, contact Grand Floridian Private Dining and book a private dinner. You will be assigned a butler, the chef will personalize a menu for you, and you can eat on the Terrace. They will serve you dessert around the time of Wishes, and you can watch Wishes from the terrace. Expect to pay between $250-$350.

Also, as a part of the "What will you Celebrate" promotion, they are offering "Sweetheart Dinner for two" at their signature restaurants. It includes a special menu to choose from, a glass of bubbly with commenrative glasses, and a special dessert for two. This runs for $150 (total, not each) at each restaurant, except the California Grill, which is $160.00.

Hope this helps!

P.S. We are getting married at Shades of Green (Military Resort on Disney) on May 16th, when are you getting married?

California Grill has the best sushi ever. It is quite noisy, but the view cant be beat. You could always request to be seated in the wine room. We were there on our last trip and it was a completely different world in there. Waiter was very attentive and we could see the water pageant clearly. The best meal of my life!pixiedust:
