The Most Relaxing Place on Earth! 1/23, Day 8: Last Day!

Great update Drea!

You're little alarm clock (aka B.) is so cute! My youngest used to be an early riser as a baby and it was hard for me because I am not a morning person at all! But at least you all were up and ready for your Crystal Palace breakfast!

What a trooper Rob was to have dragged himself to MK while sick. That's dedication and love!

I am so addicted now to early morning reservations inside the parks! I love seeing the empty streets and the photo opportunities they give. We usually do Akershus for Epcot, Crystal Palace for MK and Hollywood & Vine for HS. That one pic of all 4 of you in front of the castle is so adorable. You all look so excited! I also love how you and A. gazed at the castle together. What a sweet pic! That will probably make you cry in about 15 years or so when she's all grown up!

I have those same crocs too!:thumbsup2 I actually have a couple of pairs and made the mistake of wearing my new sandal ones to Disney! They weren't broken in at all and I had a nice lovely blister to show for it. I broke one of the cardinal rules for Disney...only bring broken in footwear! Oh well, at least they were cute, right? Looking forward to the rest of your udpate. Hey, did you start a pretrip report yet?:goodvibes

I absolutely love that picture of A looking at the castle - that'd be great to blow up and put in her room! I love early morning ADR's at Crystal Palace!

Yes, she enabled me!:laughing: I really like the pink. They are very light so go with a lot of things. I think I had wanted the silver but they were out in my size. Maybe I should go look again...

I couldn't remember all who I enabled! :rotfl: I'm glad you like them!! I really do like that pink. It would go well with many of my summer items.... I know at one point they had some crazy fun print ones that I was tempted on as well, but it doesn't look like those are around anymore.

Hey! I am probably going to update tomorrow. I went away with some of my girlfriends this weekend, so I'm just trying to catch up now!

Thanks! I'm headed over to check them out now!

Did you get some? What color? :goodvibes

Awww what a sweet update!! I love the picture of A just staring off at the Castle...that is a great shot!!!!

An empty MK is a sight to behold and I have enjoyed it a few times and I soak in every minute of it! The details...the details are what keep me coming back for more and more!!!

Yes, we just LOVE an empty MK. Just something about it.

I'm all caught up! Yay!

I'm sorry Rob wasn't feeling well again. That really stinks but what a trooper pulling it together for Crystal Palace!

Yes, he did really well for being so sick. I'm not sure I would have done as well.

Yes, never wear new shoes to the parks! Fashion does not trump comfort at WDW!

Yes, I love those pictures. She has grown so much since those!

I absolutely love that picture of A looking at the castle - that'd be great to blow up and put in her room! I love early morning ADR's at Crystal Palace!

Thank you! I should!

Yeah, I saw those print ones, but went for the plain jane cotton candy ones. They do go with a lot of things though. Not that I'm enabling you, but I do wear them quite a bit.

We walked in to Crystal Palace and I immediately looked up. I just love walking in to this restaurant.

WDWDay56168.jpg

WDWDay56169.jpg

We usually walk in and are seated on the left, but this time we were taken to the right. I must say I like the left better because who doesn't like looking at the Castle when you are eating breakfast!

Anyway, we sat down ordered our drinks. B. pointed out that he was feeling like this guy, a Grouch!
WDWDay56170.jpg

We saw that Piglet was close by, so we waited to get our food.
WDWDay56171.jpg

B. was not excited to see Piglet.
WDWDay56172.jpg

WDWDay56175.jpg

A. on the other hand was very excited!
WDWDay56174.jpg

We were trying to decide who would go up to get food first and this guy showed up!
WDWDay56176.jpg

WDWDay56177.jpg

WDWDay56178.jpg

After Tigger left, B. flipped out a little. I bet he was thinking "Who the heck is going to show up next!" So, Rob took him and I went to go get some food for me and the kids.
WDWDay56182.jpg

When I got back, I put B. pack in the high chair and he chowed down on fruit. A. had eggs/fruit and I had the biscuits and gravy. I love their gravy. So good!

Rob came back with a plate load of all kinds of food, which he said was for the kids, but I don't remember him sharing.

We finished our meal and noticed that MK would be opening any minute. We still hadn't seen Eeyore or Pooh and they were nowhere in sight. I was willing to wait, but Rob wanted to go so we could ride Dumbo. So, we paid and left.

We walked out just as people were walking down Main Street, so we headed quickly over to Fantasyland to get on Dumbo.
WDWDay56186.jpg

WDWDay56190.jpg

WDWDay56191.jpg

Next stop: 100 acre Woods!
WDWDay56192.jpg

You can see what kind of mood B. was in this morning! Maybe it was the 5 am wake-up call?!
WDWDay56193.jpg

WDWDay56195.jpg

WDWDay56196.jpg

After we got off the ride I asked Rob what he wanted to do next. As we were talking A. said she wanted to drive the race cars and B. said he wanted to have a meltdown. Well, he didn't say that, he just did it.

So, Rob took A. and drove the cars.
WDWDay56198.jpg

And I took B. to find a snack. We went and got a smoothie in Tomorrowland. They are so good! We get them every trip. He called down and gulped his down very quickly.

When Rob and A. got back it was almost time for Tinkerbell to open. I knew Rob did not want to wait in line and since B. was being such a stinker, he said he would take him and we would meet up after.

As A. and I were walking over I noticed that they already dropped the rope, so I scooped her up and started to run. We made it there pretty quickly, but the wait was already 45 minutes!
WDWDay56199.jpg

Luckily, he family in front of us had 2 small girls, so A. was able to make fast friends. The Dad also had an Iphone which he set up for the girls to play, so it went by a lot faster than it would have otherwise. They were very nice, from Jacksonville, FL, and it was great to hear about their vacation. It was also their last park day.

When we got up to the loading room I asked if Rosetta was there today and she wasn't. A. was not happy.
WDWDay56202.jpg

Rosetta is her favorite. The CM felt bad and said that Terrance was there, but A. was not interested.
WDWDay56206.jpg

Can I just say that I love the themeing! It is beautiful in there. When we walked in the greeting room, A. turned to me and said, "Momma! Pixie Hollow!" It was so cute.

"con't"

First up, Terrance. He was so great! Very animated and wanting to make A. smile and laugh so much.
WDWDay56207.jpg

WDWDay56208.jpg

WDWDay56210.jpg

She had a great time and then we moved on over to Tink! The first thing Tink said was "Rosetta wishes she was here to meet you, but she said to tell you Hi!" A.'s face just lit up! I guess the CM had told her about A. being so disappointed that Rosetta wasn't there. It was very sweet and so special for her. Tink also had great interaction.
WDWDay56214-1.jpg

WDWDay56215.jpg

WDWDay56217.jpg

Last was Fawn. She was also very sweet. This is just such a great character meet!
WDWDay56221.jpg

WDWDay56222.jpg

WDWDay56224.jpg

After we walked out I called Rob to see where he was. He was on his way over, so we just hung out and tried on some hats.
WDWDay56226.jpg

Rob showed up quickly and told us that Tomorrowland was empty. He and B. had rode Buzz like 5 times in a row with no wait and he had the top score. He was so proud.

We were debating at this point to go back to the room or to just stay. MK was closing early this night for MNSSHP, so we knew we wouldn't be able to stay long at night.

We decided to stay and asked A. where she wanted to go and she "Small Wowld." So we walked that way.

We were surprised to see a line when we walked up. It said 5 minutes, so we just got in line. B. was also very tired at this point.
WDWDay56227.jpg

WDWDay56228.jpg

WDWDay56229.jpg

Halfway through the line, B. just laid his head down on Rob's shoulder. He was ready to sleep!
WDWDay56230.jpg

WDWDay56232.jpg

And by the time we got on the ride, he was out!
WDWDay56233.jpg

WDWDay56235.jpg

It was a great ride as always!

Since B. was sleeping we asked A. what she wanted to do next and she wanted to drive the cars again, so we walked over to there. We finally saw this guy!
WDWDay56236.jpg

I wanted to ride this:
WDWDay56237.jpg

But no one else did so we kept walking. I wasn't in the mood for whiplash, so Rob took one for the team and rode with A. again.
WDWDay56238.jpg

After they were done, B. was still sleeping, so Rob and A. went to get 2 more smoothies. Did I mention they are really good?!

Well, of course while they were gone, guess who woke up. Yeah, B. woke up right in time to see A. walking back with not only a smoothie, but also a hug sucker! Needless to say he wasn't happy that she wasn't sharing with him.

So, Rob poured some of his smoothie in B.'s cup and that made him happy again.
WDWDay56241.jpg

What should we do next? We sat down to talk while the kids got hyped up on sugar.

"cont"

We decided to check the line for Buzz and it said 5 minutes so we got in line. It was more like walk-on, so that was nice. Rob got a very high score again, so I knew he had found some secret, but he wasn't sharing!

After this we stopped for a bathroom break and let the kids finish up their smoothie. We decided that one more ride and then lunch, so we did TTA. I love this ride. I like to imagine what would have become out of Walt's dream of a model city. Wow, things would have been so different had that happened!

A. was starting to get in a bad mood at this point, perhaps it was the early morning wake up call or perhaps it was all the sugar in her body, but we decided to still eat lunch at the park. I asked her what she wanted and she said "Pizza" so we headed back to our Pinocchio Village Haus, again. We were lucky to get a seat to watch the boats.

WDWDay56245.jpg

WDWDay56249.jpg

We all ate our lunch and decided it was time to go. Everyone was getting a little cranky.

I started to get a little sad at this point. I knew that Rob didn't want to come back next year, so this could be my last walk on Main Street for a long time.
WDWDay56255.jpg

WDWDay56256.jpg

I didn't want to get down, we had had a wonderful trip. Just, you know the feeling.

We did run into these guys. That made me feel a little better.;)
WDWDay56258.jpg

I just love the balloons on Main Street!
WDWDay56260.jpg

WDWDay56261.jpg

WDWDay56262.jpg

It was at this point that Rob asked me if we had gotten B.'s Mickey ears yet. And guess what, I had forgotten all about it! :scared1: So, he agreed to go in the shop and get the ears even though he was feeling really crappy at this point.

I picked out the traditional ears and we tried on hats while we waited.
WDWDay56263.jpg

WDWDay56264.jpg

WDWDay56265.jpg

WDWDay56268.jpg

Then B. got his hat!
WDWDay56271.jpg

When we walked out we ran right into this guy! A. informed him that we really loved his Westawant.
WDWDay56273.jpg

And then it was time to go. :sad2: I was a little teary eyed at this point.
WDWDay56275.jpg

WDWDay56282.jpg

Up Next: How many times can we spill our drinks tonight?!

good update!!!!!! I know how it feels to be sad to leave MK :( The last night before I moved from FL, my brother and I were there for EMH and just had watched Wishes for the last time as a FL resident/MK CM /FGIT and stood directly in the middle with Caseys and ice cream on either side and I just stood there and looked at my former home "the castle" and just cried. My brother gave me a few seconds and then said, lets go ride Jungle Cruise and we walked away. It was pretty bittersweet so I know what you mean!!

Yeah, I saw those print ones, but went for the plain jane cotton candy ones. They do go with a lot of things though. Not that I'm enabling you, but I do wear them quite a bit.

:lmao: I am pretty certain I will end up with one more pair of summer/park touring shoes...these would be the top of the list! :goodvibes

The first thing Tink said was "Rosetta wishes she was here to meet you, but she said to tell you Hi!" A.'s face just lit up! I guess the CM had told her about A. being so disappointed that Rosetta wasn't there. It was very sweet and so special for her.

That made me cry! I'm such a sap! But really...where else do you find THAT?! Ahhhh, I love it! Okay, tearing up again....! :rotfl:

What should we do next? We sat down to talk while the kids got hyped up on sugar.

That made me laugh out loud! It's true, isn't it? Henry always ends up with way more sugar, treats, fatty foods and just plain JUNK at Disney! But then again it is vacation...so I don't mind so much!

Great update! You all did a lot with B not cooperating that much. That feeling of leaving MK is just painful! So glad you are headed back soon with A.

As for Tink...that is too sweet to have said that to A. That is Disney magic for ya!

Oh yes, I'm knew I wasn't alone in that feeling on this board! I was a CP CM and I did something very similar my last night.

:lmao: I am pretty certain I will end up with one more pair of summer/park touring shoes...these would be the top of the list! :goodvibes

Yes, me too. I'm trying to decide what color I want.

That made me cry! I'm such a sap! But really...where else do you find THAT?! Ahhhh, I love it! Okay, tearing up again....! :rotfl:

Me too. I couldn't believe it. Just so magical!

Oh yes, it's sugar city for us almost the entire time. My husband always comes out with little treats. I noticed that we had cotton candy on the stroller in the hat shop I had forgotten about. So you can add that to the morning.

Great update! You all did a lot with B not cooperating that much. That feeling of leaving MK is just painful! So glad you are headed back soon with A.

As for Tink...that is too sweet to have said that to A. That is Disney magic for ya!

We did! He was in a bad mood, but willing to sit in his stroller, so that helped out a lot.

Me too! When I was typing up my last installment I was just so thankful to be walking down Main Street again so soon! I'm very lucky and blessed.

Yes, Tink was amazing. That one sentence just changed the entire character meet.

I have exactly 2 pictures from this night. You'll find out why very shortly.:rotfl:

By the time we got back to the Villa we were all exhausted. I was still feeling a little sad to leave MK too. We got both kids in their nap and we headed out to he patio. We sat down and Rob thanked me for planning the trip and said even though he was sick, he still had a great time.:lovestruc

He said he also was surprised that I was relaxed this trip. I said I was surprised too! :rotfl: He then went inside for a nap but I stayed on the patio and watched the golfers and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

About an 1.5 hours later A. woke up from her nap and asked to go swimming. So, we let the boys sleep and headed to the pool. That is when I realized that somewhere along the way we have lost the life jacket I had rented our first night. :scared1: I was thinking we would have a big fine to pay, so I went back to get the little sheet they had given me and my wallet. :sad2:

When we got to the pool we were looking for a chair and by the table/chair we were using last time was a life jacket under it. I asked the couple if it was their jacket and they said no, so I checked the numbers and it was ours!:yay::yay: I was so happy!

We must have been swimming for awhile because we looked up and Rob and B. were there! So we all swam for a while before A. started saying she was hungry. Rob said he could for Earl of Sandwich again, so we got out of the pool and headed to the villa.

As we were getting ready, Rob gave A. a cup of OJ and she spilled it all over the bar and all over herself. So, he changed her and I cleaned up the bar area.

When we were all ready we headed out and drove there. No hour boat ride for us thank you very much!

We got there and couldn't find a parking spot. It was so busy. We finally found one and made the long walk to EofS.

The line was long, of course, so I went in to order. It actually went by pretty quick and as I was getting some iced tea someone bumped me and I spilled it. The worst part was the person who bumped me looked and me and slightly rolled her eyes! UGH!

Anyway, I got the drinks, took them out, went back in, got the food, came back out and saw that B. had grabbed a drink and spilled it. :sad2:I am so not even joking! So, back in I went to let them know and to fill up another cup.

We moved tables, and ate. This was our view.

WDWDay56286.jpg

We were trying to decide if we wanted to stay and shop or just go on back. B. was in a good mood,

WDWDay56287.jpg

So we decided to stay and shop around. Our first stop was Once Upon a Toy. We walked around and then back to the front. A. had just gotten into using her Mr. Potato Head at home so Rob and I decided to fill a box for her. She was so excited! :yay:

So, A. and I started to fill the box and Rob walked B. around. About 5 minutes into filling the box, Rob came back and said that the lid on B.'s sippy cup must of been loose because he was soaked. :sad2: So, he went to look for a napkin and left us there.

Around that same time, a CM approached me and asked if I wanted her to help us. I said sure and she emptied out my box and started over. She was able to fit 3 times the amount of stuff I was, so we got a ton of stuff!

Rob found us right after we paid and handed me my drink. You know were this is going right? I took a drink, A. asked for a drink, I handed it to her, it slipped and spilled all over the entrance way. :headache: At this point we just had to laugh. What else could we do. So Rob stayed there and I got a CM. She was very nice and said it happened all the time.

At this point, we felt for the sake of everyone, we would head back to the villa.

So, we made the long walk back to the car.

When we got back to the villa, I started packing up. Oh so sad, but oh so nice to pack up all clean clothes! Love having a washer/dryer in the room.

After I got the bedroom partially packed, Rob put B. to bed and we go out the potato head stuff. It is so fun, we just love it!

Before long, we were all tired and headed to bed.

Up next: "Do we really have to leave this place?", and you'll never guess who said it (or maybe you will ;) )!

Drea, these updates were so sweet!:goodvibes There are lots of great pics. You should totally frame that one of you and B. in line for Winnie the Pooh. So cute!

I'm so happy for A. that Tink made her day by telling her that Rosetta said hi! I can just imagine how excited that made her. That is what makes Disney so special IMO. When we met the fairies last February, my middle daughter brought her Rosetta plush with her. Well, as soon as we entered Pixie Hollow, Rosetta was the first one there! She went wild over my daughters doll of herself and started running around with it and laughing. Then Fawn came over and they started jumping up and down, they were so excited! My girls were laughing hysterically with them! It is such a fun memory and I have the pics to remember too. It's so special for the kids who come through those lines and truly believe that it's the real fairies/princesses/characters. It's worth the price of admission!:thumbsup2

It really seems like you pulled off a relaxing trip. You know it's relaxing when you sit on the porch at your resort to watch golf!:lmao: I would've loved doing that too. I think you certainly got a lot accomplished on this trip with 2 little ones. Now you can plan ahead to yours and A.'s trip coming up. How fun!

I just laughed and laughed when I saw that you had a day of spills! I have sooo been there, done that! DH and I used to say that we couldn't get through a meal out without one of our girls spilling their drinks! Sheesh, mine are now 10, 8 and 7 and STILL we have spills!:sad2:

I completely understand your melancholy feelings while leaving MK. I am the same way. It is sad to leave when it's a place you love visiting so much. My DH thinks it's crazy that I get a tad emotional but hey, it is what it is!

Yes, the Tink moment was really special. It made her day! That's great that your DD met Rosetta, I'm hoping this next trip we'll get in there, but I'm not sure we will.

Yes, it was insane. I could not believe that we spilled all those drinks in a 2-3 hour time span.

I knew the people here would get the sad feeling even if Rob doesn't! We are all OCDD, Obsessive Compulsive Disney Disorder people here.

I have one more post left and then I'll wrap up with my feelings on this trip.:goodvibes

A quick "May Trip" update. I subbed to TGM today and luckily the days I had *thought* would be green are! YEAH! So I don't have to change up our ADRs at all. I'm so happy.

I told my brother today and I started to feel a little self-conscience. I sometimes forget when I'm talking about WDW that not everyone is obsessed like me and I feel like I freak them out a little.

Anyway, he seems excited, a little scared too.

Yea for TGM and being right... I think that is why I like it so!

Those drinks just kept a spillin' that happens here too!

Sad this trip came to an end. You sure planned and had a wonderful trip, despite Rob being sick. Not many people can have that with little ones and a sick parent.

Yes, I was on the fence, but since my brother hasn't been since 1999, and it is my nephews first trip, I wanted to have the least crowded parks for sure.

Aw, it was so bad. At the end of the night we could only laugh because it was just one of those nights.

Thank you. Yes, I think it was because I wasn't wound up tight. I think if I would have freaked out or not made "back-up" plans for most days it wouldn't have gone so well.

Our little alarm clock went off at around 6:30 and we all got up, had some breakfast in the room, and then I started packing up.

B. enjoyed his time by running around like a wild man.
Halloween001.jpg

Halloween002.jpg

I could tell that the trip had finally taken a toll on A. because she they are usually partners in crime, but she was content to just watch "Mickey".
Halloween003.jpg

And then, before you know it, it was time to leave. As we were getting the last of the luggage together, Rob asked if I wanted to sit on the patio one last time. I did, so we all went out there. He then said something that really surprised me, "Do we really have to leave this place?" I was shocked! He's usually one of those people that has had a good time but it's time to go.

I told him I couldn't believe he just said that, but he was talking about SSR, not WDW. He really fell in love with that resort, so much so that he asked me prices on DVC SSR resale. I know a lot of people don't like SSR, but for us, it's great. Rob isn't into the "themes" that much and he wants to feel like he is away from the parks when we are back at the hotel, so it's great.

We haven't bought DVC, but I do see it in the future for us in a few years.:cloud9:

I took a couple of shots as we drove away for the last time.
Halloween007-1.jpg

Halloween008.jpg

Our plan for this day was to eat lunch at DTD, finish up our shopping, and then go check in to our new hotel for the night.
Halloween013.jpg

We had ate a big breakfast that day trying to finish off most of our groceries, so none of us were very hungry at this point. So, we headed to WofD to do some shopping.

We got our mugs, photo albums, Christmas ornament, and magnet. A. also got June. She had wanted it for most of the trip, and she knew that if she asked Daddy he would say yes.

After that, we decided to go to the Lego store. On our way, we stopped for this photo op.
Halloween016.jpg

Halloween017.jpg

The Lego store was INSANE. It was so crowded it was crazy! So, we came out and let the kids play at the play area. I also got a sweet Tea from McDonalds. I was disappointed because it was terrible, and really expensive!
Halloween018.jpg

Halloween019.jpg

Halloween036.jpg

I don't know who designed this play area, but they didn't do a good job. It almost all metal, so it was so hot! We didn't stay there long. This was the warmest day of our entire trip and we were hot.

We still had one CS credit for each of us, so we decided to go to WPE. It was so good! I got some kind of pasta (sorry, my memory is a little fuzzy at this point).

We decided to head to Goofy's and then to try to check in. I had saved a few snack credits to get some chocolate dipped pretzels. Imagine my surprise that you can no longer get them on the DP! I was so upset. In fact, you can hardly get anything in Goofy's with the DP snack credits. I felt like a bad Diser not knowing this and was upset that I hadn't used my snack credits at food and wine!

After that, we decided to head over to the Sheraton Vistana to see if we could check-in.

We got there around 2:30 and the room wasn't ready! I was so bummed. We decided to just hang out until 3, which was check in time. During this time we were watching this guy load his car and he was loading the luggage rack and he broke his wind shield! His food went right through it. Poor guy!

When I went in at 3 to see if our room was ready, they said something had happened and we wouldn't be able to check in for a few more hours!:scared1: I asked to speak to a manager, not to be rude, but to explain our situation. 2 kids, no naps, really hot outside. He was really nice and found a room for us. It was really nice.

We were all tired, but the kids were past nap. They were just slap happy. I took A. to the pool while Rob tried to get B. to nap. We came back about an hour later and guess who was still up!

We had debated going to DTD or a restaurant for dinner, but we were just all exhausted. Plus we had to be at the airport at 5 am!

So, we ordered Dominos and just hung around the condo.

We basically ate dinner, took baths/showers, and went to bed.

Before we knew it, the alarm was going off and we were packing up again!
We almost got lost on the way to the airport, not sure how since we had Margie, our GPS. I blame it on lack of sleep.

If you can believe it, the line to check our bags was so long! We waited about 45 minutes just to check our bags. Then when we walked up to security they were just opening new lines, so we were lucky and we were the first people in line. So, that was quick.

Soon enough we were at the gate, coffees in hand, waiting to board.

The flight home was uneventful and we made it home quickly.

Up next: Final Thoughts and Details on our Next Trip!

I did not know about Goofy's not having DP snacks anymore either.... boo!

Glad you like SSR. I hope you are a DVC owner someday and our trips overlap. My good friend and I went with our big kids to the Lollipops today and talked about her big trip in May to the World, they are SSR owners and love it there.

Excited to hear about the next trip!
