In my life, I had never met another Kylene until my junior year in college, when I heard my name called in Sociology class and realized someone ELSE answered!!
I like to tell people that she spelled it wrong though.
And in a funny side note, I live in a fairly close-knit community. One of those 'burb communities where if you're involved in clubs and sports and things in high school, your name is pretty well known. Well, I also have a friend named Colleen, and ever since we became friends, she's complained because people make such an effort to pronounce MY name correctly that they end up mis-pronouncing HERS!! Even her own mother!!
We think it's funny.
As for the Maggies on the board - I knew one Maggie growing up (I'm 24), until my neighbor Maggie was born (she's 12). She's a Margaret Elizabeth, but she tells me she's the only Maggie in her school now that the other one graduated 8th grade.
I only know of two other Keli's (Kelli or Kelly) on the boards, tc and mom2Ashli so I guess it's not the most popular name on the DIS (I know several IRL but about half of them are guys, it's a fairly popular name for males in the south I think)
I agree that forms of the name Debby and Robin are the most popular on the DIS, I see lots of them floating around.
Well there has to be someone on the DIS with my name (Sarah), because I have one of the most popular girl names. Three of my friends growing up had the same name as me. And every time someone would say Sarah, we would all turn around and say what at the same time! LOL
Originally posted by bear74 I'm suprised I haven't seen any other Jennifer's. growing up I knew 3 others besides myself. I have met lots of other Jennifer's since then as well
I'm always surprised when I get together with a group of 5 or more people my age and there is not at least one other Jennifer. In fact, my husband's sister's name is Jennifer. Before she got married, we had the same first and last name.
Originally posted by Debi Another vote for forms of Debbie. There a lot of Deb's, Debbie's, Debi's, Debby's, etc. on the DIS. Growing up in CA, I only knew one other Debbie, and now here in NJ, Debbie's are everywhere!
Originally posted by DisneyAddict_M Okay, what about the least popular name? I've only met one other Melinda. GASP! Does that make me a geek??? I wanna be popular too!!!!
