my kids really enjoyed and were treated well (given coloring pages and such) at Artist Point... we went a little on the early side but that was our preference

I would have to say Artist Point. There is a special wall at the entrance with the "artist of day" where there are kids drawings restaurant. I think most restaurants do have the coloring pages, but this one is on display. There are always children in the restaurant, and if they do get a little restless there are rocking chairs outside on the deck and a fire pit to enjoy.

Citricos is child friendly. It is brightly colored and has a larger child's menu

California Grill, Narcoosees, Flying Fish and the Yachtsman Steakhouse can get really loud and the dinners are normally 1:30-2 hours so keep that in mind. FF & YS are really dark inside too. CG has the opportunity for fireworks viewing and you can access the observation deck.

Jiko is the most adult oriented-you will not find many kids here.

Cali Grill has been the one signature that we've been too that has a ton of kids at it. Another suggestion is Narcoossee. It's seafood and very laid back. We've never seen kids at Citricos or Jiko. Not saying there are not kids there but we've never seen any.

I think California Grill is very kid oriented. Granted dinner does take longer if you do multiple courses, but it is very loud in there, there is a great view of the park and lots of kids so it has never been an issue (granted we leave our 2 year old behind as her limit of dinner is about 45 minutes)

FF & YS are really dark inside too.

I don't think FF is dark at all. It's very bright and colorful. The open kitchen is fun for kids (of all ages) to watch. Our experience has been that it's very kid friendly.

Cali Grill is great if you get an early ressie.
We went at 5:30 and the place was still quiet. View was georgeous....watched the sunset.

Because we were early and had my DD5 the server judged us just right.quick
service but not rushed....perfect.
If the kids get antsy you can take them for a walk to the outdoor
deck.

Well thats good. We were there during convention weekend and it was around 8 at night. I just thought it was dark and loud, but the food was awesome.

The children would probably enjoy the view of the MK from California Grille. As others have suggested no matter which you chose it will probably be better to get an early ADR.

Guess it depends. We've been taking dd to WDW signature restaurants since she was 2 and never had any problems. She's been to almost all of them on several occasions...FF, Jiko, AP, Narcoossees, YSH, Brown Derby, Blue Zoo, long lost Palio and Citrico's.

The only one she hasn't been at is CG and that's only because I won't make a reservation I have to use a CC to hold. We've always seen other children at all of these restaurants as well including Jiko and Citricos and they have all been quite kid-friendly. Even servers at AP and Palio would be more than happy to get chicken fingers for her even though they weren't on the menu. Of course, dd has always been well behaved when we're at these restaurants so maybe she wasn't too noticeable by other adults..

What makes it "kid friendly" to you? How old are you kids?

In my family, kind-friendly would mean the kids could get a child-sized portion of anything on the adult menu, and not garbage like chicken fingers and hot dogs.

Our kids (7 & 10) like CG a lot. They LOVED seeing wishes from there. I didn't think we'd see too many kids there but there were a lot. There were also quite a few kids at Jiko and even though my kids really enjoyed the resort, they didn't care for the food there.
