The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

It was only a matter of time, Glenn, before we entered the realm of poop over here. :lmao::lmao::lmao: See! It's not ONLY me. :confused3:rotfl2:

(I'm laughing that I'm the first, though, to reply to this. :lmao::lmao::lmao:)

I knew I was going to get some grief when we started down this road. I am not surprised you were the first to comment. It'd have to be either you or Winkers, and she's got better things to do right now.

I was in the pet supply business for many years:cat::fish::dogdance:, and it seemed as us every conversation ended up being about poop. Even in restaurants...hmm..no wonder I was single for so long:rolleyes1

Then, I got married and had kids. I then added drool, and barf to my repertoire! Ahh...parenthood!

Sooner or later, we get down to the most common elements.

Yes, I do know what you mean. Please, don't forget, snot, blood (mine were experts at cutting of their thumb, splitting their lips, and self-surgery in the kitchen (even at 16!)), and oh wait, yes, the best of all, eating various "crunchies" off the floor. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

In our line of business, it is commonplace for guests from other stations coming through to fill us in on their various digestional issues, so we can all determine together which antibiotic is best. :thumbsup2 Ah the life of an overseas worker. :rotfl2:

I'm sure that list is not even complete.

If only you kept the windows closed so those drafts didn't make everyone sick. (See, I've read up. :))

Yeah, what can I say.... someone's gotta pick up the ball and run with it.

You've certainly done your homework!! Some of their beliefs on illness are seriously about 50 years behind. :sad2:

Hey, do you have any news about the explosion? That's around where Tim's from. Hope everything's ok in Conn with his homeys.

I haven't been watching TV today, so don't know anything about the explosion. Just went to Google and found this from the NY Times. Not a lot of info., but "multiple casualties expected".

I still need to catch up on about 20 pages or so (this is one fast moving PTR!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:), but what a huge amount of snow!! I have only ever seen that much snow at the ski resorts in the Alps where it belongs, not in someone's back yard as new snow over just one weekend!!

I agree....the Alps would be a good place for all of this snow!

Jenbear,Where are you in Ontario? I have a lot of family in Toronto and some in Hamilton.

I live in a town just outside the city of Toronto. Where abouts are you living now? Were you born in Ontario/Canada?

Yay for poop conversations!

I knew there would be someone who'd appreciate the finer conversations that are possible!! ;)

I heard that they're trucking in snow. Hard to believe.

Not if you lived here it wouldn't be! The snow is not good right now, at all. I get to hear everyone complain about it as they head up to use their season passes etc, lol.

Hopefully that will change, we've had a lot in the mountains, just not recently.

I just can't believe how much you got in such a short time!

That's too bad. A lot of businesses have been affected I'm sure.

You and me both. It didn't even really register until we tried to clear the driveway. Yesterday morning Judy thought there was a chance we'd have mail delivery. Until we shoveled/ran the snowblower.

We already got word that there's a 2-hour delay for school tomorrow, but they're at least having school, so that's good...doesn't jeopardize the June vacation plans.

Oh no! I hadn't even thought about how this might affect some folks' vacay plans!! Let's hope too many districts don't bag school.

Very good! That much snow and we'd be shut down entirely.

Our season started early so I think they are ok but it will be interesting to see what happens for the Olympics! Definitely downplaying it in the press here....

Wow, so all this snow talk is actually absolutely on topic!! :thumbsup2 Hope things settle down a bit for you!

We're supposed to get another storm Tuesday, into Wednesday. They're predicting a foot to a foot and a half of snow. If that happens we'll definitely miss at least a day of school, since it won't be over the weekend when they have time to plow the roads. Stay tuned.

I'll answer on your thread so I don't hijack poor Glenn's thread!

Either way is fine -- I follow her thread too!

It looks we might only be on the fringe of the next storm. It looks like our fate will be determined by which way the storm moves. Fingers crossed! I am SO OVER WINTER!

Thanks. Oh, I shouldn't have given you the impression that the tours were included. I didn't think of that. What was included was the airfare, the hotel (in Vienna), breakfasts, the welcome dinner and the farewell dinner at Hofburg Palace. The excursions were extra. The Mozart walking tour was booked through their travel company, and I could have done the same with the Schonbrunn, but I researched it online and saw that what they were charging was really excessive. I was able to figure out public transportation and pay "at the door" for the tour much more cheaply. I'm glad it made me research using the u-bahn because then we felt free to go all over. I talked to other PChef people who only explored as far as they could walk from the hotel, and even only ate in the hotel restaurant. :confused3 I wanted to see a lot more than that!

Oh, well even just the welcome dinner and farewell dinner were pretty extravagant. Still a very cool bonus!:thumbsup2

Love your backyard snow pics. Now that's some snow! We missed last weeks storm, we were supposed to get some but it passed by just to the south of us. This week's storm is supposed to leave us with 3 - 6 inches by Tuesday morning. I was so surprised to see that school was closed for today, when all we have so far is about a half inch. Here's what it looked like down my street this morning:

(Props to anyone who "gets" my title for this post.)

I had done a lot of research online to find a restaurant where we could get good Viennese cuisine. And, I had tickets to a concert for L, B2, Judy, and I. So, we took the U-bahn to our restaurant, Die Fromme Helene, a nice quaint, local, restaurant.

Slowly catching up on your Vienna report... Of course I would have gotten the title. But I wasn't here... :sad2:

Btw, the name of the restaurant you ate at translates into The Pious Helen. It is the title of a story by Wilhelm Busch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Busch) who is most famous for the "Max and Moritz" tales.

Your dinner sounds great and the Schnitzel looks like the real deal! I love baked brie with cranberry sauce! :cloud9:
