The most exhilarating ride in all of Orlando is...

not at Disney, not at Universal... It's at Magical Midway on I-Drive and it's called Star Flyer. It's a simple ride, but words cannot describe the feeling you get on that thing.

I looked on their homepage. Holy Cow! That thing looks high.

I wish we had time to go there. It's so cheap to get 7/8 day tickets that we just end up doing that.

We did Universal once.......it will be a long time before we go there again.

Magical Midway looks like our kind of place.

ok....i LOVE thrill rides and that thing looks like no joke!! By time my kids are old enough to go there I'll probably be too scared to try it though!

Hi GinaBean. It's just not my kind of park. When we went my son was about 2 or 3 so he didn't hardly get to do anything. My DH and I took turns doing things with my two DD's. I'm just not into rides/shows that are intense/scary like that.

Let's see if I can remember.........there was a tornado one, an earthquake one, revenge of the mummy, ..I can't remember if terminator was there or Men in Black Alien attack since we wouldn't have taken our kids on those.

There was a little section for little kids. It had water stuff.......ofcourse, I didn't know it had that so we weren't prepared for that. No extra clothes and my kids don't like walking around in wet clothes. We tried to do some things in there without getting wet. Although we wanted to because it was SO hot! There is hardly any shade. It was brutal! (end of August/Sept.)

I got some advise on this board whether Univ. or Islands of Adv. would have been good for little kids. They said Univ. but we regretted that. We would have been so much happier at a water park.

But it makes sense when you think MK and Epcot are our favorite parks. Splash mountain is our kind of attraction.

But don't let me swade you.........if there is one thing I've learned, you have to experience things yourself to see if YOUR family likes them or not. There are tons of people that LOVE Univ.. And I wish even more people loved it so the MK wouldn't be so packed!

We are going to Orlando Dec 27 - Jan 2 and were planning on going to WDW, but I have been reading about how the parks have to shut down due to reaching capacity. I called and spoke to a Disney rep who told me it usually happens each year. I cannot imagine getting there and not being able to get in! We have been on to Disney twice, but never to Universal. I am torn. Even if we are able to get in the parks, I am wondering how crowded it will be.

We are still planning on going to AK on Jan 1 (hoping everyone else will be too hungover to show up) & hopping to Epcot at night for Illuminations. We are also considering hitting a waterpark. I don't know what we should do!

as for the magical midway, we make a point of visiting at least once during our vacation. we usually stay right on I drive, so we're pretty close. i have been on that sky thing....well scary!, but it's awsome when you are up so high the sensation

we usually go with my sister who is 12, and her friends who are 12 and 14. they love the atractions, some obviously they miss out...for example, my sister hates simulators, so jimmy neutron is not an option. also a bit bored of earth quake, the show at the start bores them all to tears.

as for enough to do, we prefer islands of adventure. . there seems to be more that they enjoy there... my sister last year even was brave enough to ride hulk. it's also more fun for them, as the rides seem more thrilling and it just seems like more enjoyment all round. here is a list of rides that the kids like:

universal:

mummy, jaws, ET, shrek, twister (yeah that's it!)

at IOA, all rides apart from flying unicorn (thinks it's too boring). love the water rides...ripsaw and jurrasic there faves. posidon they will do, but get pretty scared at certain parts of the show. love seus landing, and also spider man.

so, IOA i think does it for kids really, much more to do, and many more happy faces.
