Well by using the title of this thread, it's aggravating because the guests who break this rule are taking up spots for guests who stay at the Magic Kingdom Monorail Resort and for the guests who just go there for ADR's and follow the rule of not leaving their car parked there all day. Besides as someone who always stays at the Contemporary, it's not a selfish thing to want the best parking spot my family and I can get.
I guess you missed my point.Just to add to my last comment, I know we can always valet park and there would be no problems with the self parking lot. However we don't want to keep spending $10.00 + tip everytime we need to leave the Contemporary, when it's not to any of the 4 theme parks. It's not that we don't have the money, it's the principal that we should not have to when we are allowed to self park and save that money to purchasing a nice souvenir while in WDW.
Really, if the parking attendants are ALLOWING these people in and not monitoring their time, they are just taking advantage of the situation that was given to them. Doesn't make it right, but I don't think you can be mad at them when obviously that burden falls on Disney.
The part I bolded .... what in the WORLD do you mean by that? Is a parking spot really worth all the upset? I just don't get it.

Just like pool hopping and reusing mugs. If people are allowed to get away with it, they will continue to do it. Again, does not make it right, but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. And I also think that these scenarios get way blown out of whack. If Disney saw it as a huge problem, I am sure they would take steps to correct it. Just like they did with smoking. So until Disney gets crazy strict, let it roll off your back. Enjoy your vacation and stop worrying about a parking space you didn't get that is 30 feet away from the one you had to take.
