The most annoying or aggravating thing you see at WDW.....get your flames ready!

No offense, OP, but why start a post that puts the focus on negatives? Several of the responses, including your own, could be hurtful to others reading this.
For example, in some cases you can't tell just by looking that someone has a disability other than being overweight. I am sure there are overweight people that use scooters for that reason, but how do you know that person doesn't have a heart condition, or rheumatoid arthritis, or bad knees? And the comment that fat people shouldn't ride the Main Street cars to the castle, I mean come on!!! That was just plain mean-spirited!!!
And the "strollers with no kids" thing...I doubt many people would want to haul a stroller just to haul their stuff. It's more likely the child just wanted to walk for a bit, so why not put your stuff in there?
I know, I don't have to read it but it's like a car accident. Ya gotta look.

I agree. No good can come out of continuing this thread. Actually, I take that back. I guess the car accident factor of this thread IS more entertaining than some of the fluff threads. :)

  • People walking side by side, spread-out, so that they take up 90% of the walkway.
  • People pushing strollers into me or letting their kids push the stroller into me.
  • People talking and disturbing others during a ride or show when it is inappropriate to do so.
  • null
:surfweb:

As long as the thread remains just venting and not debating, then some good could come from this. Someone could read it and say "Hey, I do that. Didn't know that it bothered people."

We will have to see how it goes. :)

I'm a smoker, and it bothers me when other smokers put out their cigarette on the ground. There are ashtrays EVERYWHERE in the smoking area. How hard is it to walk 3 feet to put your cigarette in the ashtray?

I also hate it when people leave their trash next to the trash can. If the trash can is obviously full, I can understand this. However, I have seen people put their empty cups, napkins, etc. next to an empty trash can, on a bush next to the trash can, etc.

And the thing I HATE the most is when I see people yelling at cast members for stupid reasons. Last year, I saw a man yelling at a cast member because he couldn't get an EMH wristband. The cast member asked him if he was a resort guest, and the man said "no." What's so hard to understand about Disney resort guests ONLY?

If you could pick one thing that you have seen at the world that you would say really bothers you the most (with people, not necessarily with Disney) what would it be? Some people don't like the kid leashes, others can't stand when people blatantly cut in front of other in line.......for me, it really bothers me to see people on ECVs that don't have a physical ailment, but are just enormously overweight and don't feel like walking. It bothers me because i can't help but wonder are there people who are handicapped that could have gotten that ECV and now dont have one because an enormously overweight person has it.

I am not trying to be mean, just honest (and before I get completely killed, I am an overweight person myself).

I personally find your statement rude. You don't know that a person in a ECV is just in it because they are overweight. Hooray for you if you are healthy and can walk all the time, but while there may be some who would use and ECV because they are overweight, a lot of times there are other underlying problems you aren't aware of.

I am a bit overweight and only 29, not so much so that someone would say something, but I have bad knees and problems with my feet so that it gets where I am in a lot of pain after walking for long periods so I will probably end up having to rent an ECV. Not that I care what people think, but you should really take a minute to think about your attitude before you post a statement like that.

Well said!

People who take the elevator up just one level when there are stairs right by. Can't you walk one flight?

I have to say people that have rented ECV's that have never driven one before!
When my family of 5 was there in February every one of us was hit by one of those scooters! Most of the time we were either just standing there or in line for something!
I also saw a lady that was driving one much faster than she should have been - a small child was running to get in line for a character and this woman couldn't control the ECV and hit her!!!...My family and I stopped to help (my sister was a CM @ the time and was there on her day off) and the poor little girl had TIRE marks on her pants!
My sister (a CM) then told us that accidents with those ECV's happen quite often...
Now before I get flamed....both the little girls parents (why didn't they catch her before she started running towards a character?) and the ECV driver were at fault...and I have nothing against overweight people if they need the ECV to get around "the world" I just think they need to be overly cautious when there are sure to be children around!

- People who are the first to walk down a row of seats at attractions like Philharmagic and, ignoring CM directions, plops their family down in the middle of the row. (I will push past them, and I'm not too careful about avoiding the toes of the adults as I pass!)
- People that suddenly come to a dead stop in the middle of the flow of foot traffic to take a picture, causing you to almost smack into the backs of them.

For example, in some cases you can't tell just by looking that someone has a disability other than being overweight.
I agree that it's best to give these folks the benefit of the doubt. You can't say by looking at someone if they're overweight partly because they don't exercise or they can't exercise due to a medical condition that makes normal movement difficult and/or painful. How about we just leave it at "I hate getting rammed by ECV's!"

Soo many, as another posted called it some people who are in WDW, get the "Disney Duh"!

1. People that stand in front of the attraction entrance trying to decide who and/or if they are riding and blocking everyone else from entering. This also happens at the exits, people standing right at the exit trying to decide where to go next and blocking the exit for everyone else. People get out of the way!

Oh, it may be a tie, this also bugs me, people who stand in the CS lines and wait until it is their turn to start thinking about what they are going to order.

Hey!!!! My invention of the term "Disney Duh" is catching on!

I'm bothered by those that are in a large group at the entrance to the park and get up to the turnstile and then turn around to wave the rest in that haven't caught up yet and now we're waiting to get in. I mean come on, stand to the side until they catch up and be kind enough to let me go through. The CM should also tell the person to go to the side, I shouldn't have to.

I've stopped at the entrance to a ride to allow a few people through so my family can catch up and then those people who passed me let a whole bunch of folks cut up to them.:headache:

All my comments are making me look grumpy; I really don't let these things get under my skin, but they do bother me for just an instant.:cool1:

A lot of our pet peeves seem to be based on assumptions about the other person. The extremely overweight person in the ECV may have gained the weight after a disability took away their ability to walk for more than short stretches. The person sitting on the bus while you stand may have a heart condition, or arthritis, or any of a number of other problems that you can't see. The person taking the elevator may have bad ankles or knees. Since we don't know the other person's medical history, maybe we could give them the benefit of the doubt.

On the other hand, I can't think of a single excuse for spitting on the ground. :maleficen

Guests in ECV's who feel that just because they can drive faster than we can walk that they need to swerve back and forth to go as fast as the ECV will go. They need to try to go the same speed as the rest of us.

Overweight people using Main St cars to get from Train Station to the Castle. Come on, there is a reason you are heavy!

Maybe they consider the Main Street cars a RIDE? Maybe it is part of the experience? We've ridden the trolley once in all our trips because there was only once they were actually at the front ready for passengers when we entered the park (we miss rope drop most of the time). I am fat. So what else am I not supposed to do so you don't get annoyed? Get a life.

:rotfl2: Yep, ain't it the truth. I better get back to work before I get myself in trouble. Of course I will probably finish reading this thread first.

Thank you for saying this! While I agree there are things that bother me at Disney (line cutters, people who leave their trash everywhere), it is very sad that so many Disers are so judgemental. Walk a mile on my mother's knees, and you will know why she uses an elevator. Suffer a bad back, and you will know why my sister used a wheelchair, but was able to get out and walk. Spend a day in the park on my legs, and you will understand while I am fairly young, I might not get up and offer you a seat on the bus. Geeze louise people! How about showing some compassion to people who have physical limitations, instead of being so judgemental!!!:sad2:

C'mon, everyone knows that fat people are a lower class of citizen. The fatter you get, the more vilified you are. :sad2:

You would think that people's attitudes about obesity would change, given just how many of us there are now a days. Sadly that's not the case.

Thank you and I agree. My dearest friend almost didn't go to Disney 3 years ago because she would need to use the scooter or a wheel chair. I told her to go. The reason she didn't want to use it is she felt people would just think she was fat and lazy. She was a cancer survivor at the time who had a heart condition from one of the cancer treatments. She has since passed away from the cancer coming back. They had pics. at the funeral home of her life. I smiled then cried when I saw the one of her and her family at 50's Prime Time. It makes me so mad that one of you here could have been there judging this most wonderful person because she didn't look disabled. She may even have walked for a short time to let her son try it out. I am so glad she didn't let people like you ruin her last family vacation.
What bugs me most at WDW is people who spend their time noticing everything everyone else is doing and letting it bug them.

The thing that aggarvates me is when I get to an attraction and there are other people in front of me. Don't they know how special I am. I shouldn't have to wait. I could be in and out of the park in two hours if it weren't for those other people making me wait. Also, at least half of those people are minors. I can't believe they let underage people in the parks.

I get aggravated with people who hang their towels on the railings and pull their chairs into the walkways at POR. It really takes away from the ambience.
