Not to go OT but isn't it just weird when you have some preconceived notion about someone based on their posts, and then one day you find out you were totally wrong?? Like thinking someone has blond hair when they really have black or some such nonsense like that?? OK I actually do have a point I was getting to. Von, you mentioned you were a US citizen, and for the life of me I swear I thought you were a Canadian. I must have gotten you mixed up with another DISer a long time ago, and just kept on thinking you lived in Canada.

Happy thoughts to you and your family. I think sometimes we (Americans) have such a slanted view of what is actually going on in other parts of the world due to our media. A childhood friend of mine's parents were in concentration camps in Germany and I used to like speaking with them because their views were so different than others who just heard or read about this tragedy.

I could not imagine living in Iraq and not being able to speak your own mind! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!! Annmarie

I for one think that the US is better for having you here. I am glad your family was able to get out and come here safely. I left my country when I was 4 and will never be able to return to see it, and the rest of my family can not get out I do not blame you for how you feel, it is very different to feel a certain way because of what you read and hear, and another to have actually lived it.
