Can you ride the monorail in your wedding finery? I know I saw a picture in a signature where someone was outside of the monorail in their wedding attire, but can you actually ride it? We were considering riding around the resort line once, just for fun.

Thanks in advance,

Hi! We had those pictures taken during our cocktail hour (at Citricos). We were told that we could ride the monorail, but we didn't want to be away from our guests too long. Hope this helps!

I have never heard of anyone being told that they couldn't ride the monorail in their wedding attire!!! But you know how Disney is, they will tell one person yes and another person no........a great example of this is with Illuminations Dessert Parties, one person will get told they can wear their wedding dress another will be told no!!

I would ask my EM just to make sure as their policies are ever-changing!!! :)

Well, I am going to tell them up front-I want to get a dessert party so I can wear my dress. If they tell me no, I may not get one. I am under the impression, though, that if you let them know what you are planning that they will work with you.

We are doing a dessert party after our reception at Atlantic Dance Hall. I was told that I would be able to wear my dress in Epcot. I am pretty sure that as long as your dessert party is part of the wedding day, then you can definitally wear your dress. But maybe its different for intimate weddings?

We rode the monrail from our wedding at the GF to our reception at the California Grill. We have great pics of us riding up front with the driver - wedding attire and all!

Kristi1357 was it easy enough to get the monorail from the GF to CG as I am pondering doing the same?

Thanks!

We love the monorail and decided to use that as our mode of transportation rather than renting a limo. All of our guests were being transported all day by a private bus. It was just us that needed something to bring us from point a to point b. And it seemed so silly to pay all kinds of $$$ for a limo. Besides, we are both Disney freaks - what better way to arrive at your reception, right?!

The pictures of us with our best man & maid of honor in the front cab are priceless. We also got lots of looks and congrats at the GF and CR stops!

I didn't think doing this was hard at all. We were married on the beach at the GF (now the pool, boo hoo!). We took alot of pics after then went into the GF and up to the monorail platform. They held the monorail up for awhile while we took our pictures, then off to the California Grill.

Ours was a daytime, weekday wedding - I don't know if that makes a difference in them letting you do this since it's a less busy time of day?

Also, we didn't have a limo or car for me that day at all. I was just planning on walking to the ceremony on the beach from my room in the GF conference area where I got ready. My coordinator suprised me and had me driven over to the location in the 1929 Cadillac since no one else was using it that day!

(is it a Caddy? I know it's 1929...)

Kristi that all sounds so awesome - I'm gonna be cheeky and ask if there is any chance we get to see any of these pictures they sound great and we love piccies :)

I have no idea how to post pics - I will get after my DH to help me and try to get them posted sometime soon!
