I picked up my 7 year old from school today and her teacher informed me that she had bandages on her hands because she got blisters on the monkey bars. I can't believe they did that much damage! We bought some neosporan and gauze, they were really hurting her... but she said the neosporan felt good. OUCHIE, poor baby!

Poor thing...What a cutie...Try using chalk, works wonders, of course not every kid carries it:lmao:

were they hot? They could be burns from the sun heating up the bars.

Poor baby, I hope she feels better.

Owww. That kid must love the monkey bars to do that much damage. Poor kid. I'd give her some tylenol or motrin before bed maybe too tonight to help her sleep better. It should look a lot better tomorrow.

I did the same thing when I was little! Blisters on both hands from the Monkey Bars! Yep... just going back and forth too many times! :lmao:

Me too, eventually I developed callouses. It never stopped me from using the monkey bars though.

What the...Oh monkey BARS...never mind

oh yes i remember those days too! my mom would always just ask "well did you have fun, if so, then it's worth it". so i hope she at least had fun!

Ouch! I'm very familiar with those as they are called "rips" in gymnastics and my DD is a gymnast and gets rips from the bars.

I know this sounds crazy & I thought my DD's coach had lost her mind but she said you can put tea bags on it to help it. I would just make myself a cup of tea and then hand the tea bag over to DD. I then read about it on-line in regards to something else I was looking up so I guess she wasn't crazy.

Yeah it must be easy to do because my DD came home like that to. Only her's were huge not 4 little ones her's were one large like 2x3 in area on each palm!
Guess I never liked the bars that much! I have heard of the tea bags for sunburn so it must be the same idea, I think it's the tannin in the tea.

Poor little thing. My 8 year old does the same thing. I always ask "Didn't that hurt?" and she always tells me "No, not until I finally stopped." :sad2:

I hope your little one feels better soon.

Well now to top things off she has a tummy ache and has been crying for an hour... it's just not her day!
