The Mominator Vs. The Kinder Gentler Me...Go Read the TR!!!

:faint: You're gonna just by the hottest little momma around with all them productos!!! By the end of our week...I just gave the heck up! :teeth:

I absolutely love Bare Minerals it and it did pretty well during my time there. The only time it didn't hold up was in AK because honestly it was like a steam room in that park and half of my Photopass pics look horrible because my make-up sweated off. I'm with V though LL, that is one huge arsenal of Bare Minerals goodies. I still have my starter kit bronzer. :rolleyes1

AH HA!!! See - that's kind of why I don't want to go to AK in AUGUST!:thumbsup2 I'm hoping Michael won't notice that we've skipped an entire park on this vacation!!:rotfl2:

Ok, so have I mentioned that I'm NOT a big fan of Tony's friends from work? Nope...not a fan... They're nice enough I suppose, but honestly? CAN NOT STAND most, if not all, of them...

One in particular, who shall remain nameless, is probably THE biggest loser any of you had ever met. Wait...it should be Loser, with a capital L...:rotfl:

Anywhooo...this guy recently got back together with his wife (and they have 2 kids) and Tony's been, errrr...signing us up for all these "couples" and "family" things with these people...

These days when Tony says, "Let's go out to lunch"...the (hidden) translation means, "Let's go out to lunch with him and his wife". Now, anxiety disorder aside, I'm a very friendly, talkative, outgoing person.:hippie: I have VERY little in common with this guy's wife. Ok, both of us gave birth. There's one thing. Ummm...let's see, what else? Well, that's about it. Last weekend we went to this place called the Greenville Fun Park with them and their kids. It's a sad, sad version of what it was years ago I'm sure...but it has go-carts, bumper cars, mini-golf and arcade games.

So the guys and the kids were doing their thing while me and wifey-poo were left alone quite a bit. UGH...it was difficult, at best, to maintain conversation. Finally we began talking about books...I read James Patterson, Janet Evanovich, Dean Koontz, etc...:sad2: nope...she's never read any of those. BUT she reads Harry Potter. FIRST words out of her mouth after she told me she went to WalMart at 5am to buy THE book...was how it ends...:headache: Grrrr....

Anywho, basically what I'm getting at is I have nothing to talk to this woman about. Don't get me wrong, she's nice enough I guess. It's just me...:confused3

So all this week Tony and I've been planning to go to the beach. Great! Need to work on evening out my color. (More to come on that by the way:rolleyes1 ). Well, come to find out Friday morning...that THEY will be coming to the beach as well. So is this other guy, his girlfriend and their little girl. DOH!!:headache: Great...a whole day of awkward conversation...with people I barely know and don't really like. I liken it to spending time with Cousin Eddie and his wife from the Griswold's Vacation movies.:lmao: ..YEP...they're like that....:sad2:

But then, sometime Friday morning, to ummmm...."borrow" a sentence from Tasha's pre-trip, "the Heavens opened up and the trumpets sounded" and I had a revelation.... I'll buy an iPod!! I can just put the little earphone do-dads in my ears and tune EVERYONE out!!:lmao: That way I won't have to participate in otherwise PAINFUL conversation!!

Hmmmm....ok, so this is an expense that I really can't afford though...money's getting tight these days, we've got vacation coming up...then Michael's birthday a week after we get back...this is not good. What to do, what to do...:scratchin

AH HA!!! I have $200 in Office Depot rewards...I'll go there!! I went on their website and guess what they carry? iPods? Nope. :headache: But wait...what's this? Zune?? Hmmm....sounds pretty cool...I'll go check it out...

So after I got out of work on Friday I went straight to Office Cheapo and bought me a Zune. Can I just tell you guys....I LOVE THIS THING!!! How did I live without it??? It's not the smallest thing in the world, and Tony laughed at me cause it was so big, but we'll see who's laughing when I'm listening to tunes and watching movies on the plane to FL in a few weeks...
005-1.jpg

It's got an FM radio in it, I can watch videos/movies...and music...ah, sweet music....30GB worth of memory...ALL MINE!!!:cloud9: And it shows the album covers on the screen...it's just COOL.

So I spent Friday night ripping my CD's and synch'ing my tunes into this thing...and it came loaded with a bunch of music too....so I've got this great collection of music on here...a little bit of everything...from Neil to Allman Bros. to Nelly to Poison to Stevie Wonder to Paul Simon to Pussycat Dolls to MeatLoaf. Yep...I have really VARIED musical tastes...which is awesome (to me at least) when I put this bad boy on shuffle!

Now if I can just keep my big mouth shut....

Ok, so I'm one of those people that find it almost impossible to listen to music and NOT sing along...can't do it. I sing in the car, the shower...my office (which greatly amuses my co-workers). I find it hard not to sing out loud with this thing...:music:

Anywho...I loaded over 200 songs on this thing Friday night:thumbsup2! I was READY to go...

Turns out it was totally unnecessary...they ended up not going. Just this other guy and his GF and their little girl...The GF was the most unfriendly, stuck up beyotch I've met in a long time. Even Tony didn't like her. BUT, the nice thing about Effie...which is what I've decided to refer to her as...Effie (Beyotch) is UNsociable...so I didn't have to talk to ANYONE yesterday:thumbsup2 and got to work on my color.

Well, did I mention it was a totally cloudy day yesterday? And did I mention that I neglected to put ANY kind of product on my body at all yesterday? Too busy gettin' down with my bad-self...just me, my Zune and I...

Well, we left the beach around 4:30. Ish.

By the time we got home, the entire front of my body (except my face as I had sunscreen moisturizer on) was BEAT RED:scared:

Now imagine this...you spend all day in a beach chair and get a sunburn...well, you're burnt all in the front and have this lovely dividing line going straight down the sides of your body!! Oh man...it's pathetic...:sad2: luckily already this morning it's not that bad...a little tender in a couple of spots, but not as bright and hot as it was last night!

So when we came back from dinner, we went out to dinner at this new seafood joint that opened up - Gilligan's. Sharkb8...they're from Charleston, aren't they? Well it was YUMMO!!! I had oysters (SLURP), and something called a steamed garlic bowl for dinner - crabs, clams and shrimp in this heavenly garlic-butter goo...

So that's about it...that's how my weekend's gone so far...today is going to be back to business as usual...housework, laundry, DIS'ing...:surfweb:

Chat at ya'll later!!

Mornin' LL,
Sorry to hear your got burned at the beach. Some of the worst burns I've ever gotten were on overcast days when you just don't think of sunscreen. I think the front/back uneven tan is much more acceptable than the upper arm farmer tan or the sock line tan, so you should be good. Of course, this is coming from someone who stepped into the dermatologist's office and the Dr. drooled. :rotfl:

Yep, we have 3 or 4 Gilligan's down here. They are good. You've got to love a place that has a roll of paper towels on the table and a metal bucket for shells.

What beach did you go to?

Good morning Sweetie! We went to Pine Knoll Shores...just under Atlantic Beach - a bit off the map, but really nice.

I guess it's better than a farmer tan...and luckily it'll brown up in a couple of days...

OMG!! You are too funny! BUT, I know exactly what you mean about DH's friends wives. All of Andy's friends have young girlfriends or fiancees (25-28). He's the only that's married with kids. BUT all the girlfriends do have have kids. Except all their kids are WAY older that Maddie and Evan. Yeah, do the math.:rolleyes1
Anywhooooo... I hate, hate, hate going to their social events because most of the time I sit there like this:  or this :bored: 'cause to take a line outta some other famous TR writers "They don't know nuthin' 'bout nuthin'"!

:lmao: :lmao:

So sorry to hear you've lobsterized yourself! I had plans to just lay like broccoli out in the sun today, but it's yucky and overcast! Darn it!:headache:

Ok, here's the update on the pool. Go out and buy a new filter pump. Well, don't go out, go to this website and buy it. $35 bucks and your pool with sparkle! IntexCorp. I'm going to assume you have an Intex so just find your pool model and you can order the new filter pump. The new pumps come with new hoses and all the extra doo dads you'll need. HTH! :goodvibes

Cool!:thumbsup2 So is it another pump - the same thing that came with the pool? Or is it different/better?:confused3

I'm going to go out and see if it's Intex...I've got no clue...

Thanks for the tip!!

Yes, it's another pump. I actually got a stronger one for our pool. The one it came with was only .5 HP and I bought the 1 HP. Seems to be doing much better.
Let me know how it goes.

Hey Lauralee,

You almost made me spit all over my keyboard (when you described Effie).:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry you got burnt. But at least you didn't have to talk to Effie!!!

BTW, thanks for the shout out!!!!! :cool1:

Now excuse me while go do the running man with my bad self! :woohoo:

Ok first off, lurrrving the Zune.

I can't believe she ruined HP for you! That's just a bad reader, lurrrve your other book tastes. I have an author suggestion for you because I love pimping out authors to people so hope you don't mind...Jennifer Crusie try her out Bet Me, Welcome to Temptation and Faking It are some of her more popular books, you might like her stuff.

Sorry you got burnt though, now you have to burn (or go tan) the other side though so you can have matching browness. :beach:

OMG, I just gave you the last 3 1/2 hours of my life to get caught up again, was it worth it?..........Of course it was you crazy gal:goodvibes
have to say i thought I was the only one with a tackle box for a make up box, but mine is perspex with pretty lilac trim, and boy do i love it, i seriously never thought about lugging it to WDW with me but it would be much simpler than trying to decide on the perfect slimline make up kit for the week, ahh the agony!:confused3
(btw will whisper....I pack at the last minute too, a week ahead for the kids, but for me, definately the night before;)
Oh yeah, one more thing: is your boss still available? I would like to nominate myself to keep him company in the coming months, I'm 28 (nearly 29), am fully house trained, single for about a year, and ummm.....hes hot:love: keep me posted, as we might say in England, he is top crumpet:lmao:
Looking forward to any last minute changes,

Oh LL you're hilarious so glad I crept on here whilst at my Dad's to catch up :rotfl2: Love the MP3 player and kinda free too :thumbsup2 So in August we've got to make sure we're not boring yeah :lmao:

And Kate (Sharkbait) what's wrong with the sock tan?????? I have one from golfing :lmao:

:rotfl: Effie???? I laughed so loud at this I scared my niece. She said: "What you do Tia??? You play on puter??? Is puter funny???" She was utterly confused!

At least now we know if LL slips on her earplugs, we've not made the cut! :rotfl2:

Listen, I'm not even married, so it's not just husband's friends... I can't stand 90% of the parents I meet! Thank god I found you all or I'd have no social life at all :grouphug: (Did I just refer to DISing as my "social life"?? Ouch. Still, I'd rather hang out here with you guys then make small talk with the wacky moms at our local playground. ;) )

SWEET!!! I love the idea of movies whenever and wherever you are :thumbsup2

Well, did I mention it was a totally cloudy day yesterday? And did I mention that I neglected to put ANY kind of product on my body at all yesterday?
No, no, no, no, no.....
Well, we left the beach around 4:30. Ish.
Oh, please NO :scared: ...
By the time we got home, the entire front of my body (except my face as I had sunscreen moisturizer on) was BEAT RED:scared:
Aaacck!!! You poor thing - I'd insert a hug, but I'm afraid it'll hurt! Okay, here's V's sunburn cure-all: aspirin, 100% pure aloe vera gel (none of that stuff with alcohol or weird chemical names), drink lots of water, luke-warm oatmeal baths. :thumbsup2

V, I'm with you on the aspirin and aloe. I keep 2 plants in the house so I can cut the leaves open and smear it on the boys when they need it. I'm hyper about sunscreen now (notice, I say "now") but aloe when desperate really makes a difference.

And Jo, there is nothing wrong with a sock tan...shows your athletic. I have flip-flop lines on my feet....shows I'm a lazy flop wearer!:lmao:
