The moment that gives you the feeling...

The first tiny moment for me is walking up to Magical Express. Then it's pulling into the front of the resort and being welcomed home. The big all over tingle is seeing the castle. It brings tears to my eyes. At that moment the world stops and everything is magic.

So we drive for each and every one of our trips. My first cool feeling is really weird, but when we turn down I 75 and we start to see the We Bare All signs. I get a laugh and know I am heading in the right direction. Miles down the road we start to see all the billboards for Disney and other attractions and it is on.

I also have a weird ah-ha smell moment. Sunscreen. A few weeks ago I went outside and had to use sunscreen. That smell always makes me think of the parking lot before rope drop. Spraying up and ready to go.

I have that feeling reading this thread!

There are so many moments for me.

- The MCO monorail, and seeing the palm trees outside the windows.
- Walking past Chilis and down the escalators to Magical Express
- The garish upholstery on the Magical Express seats. This means I'm officially on WDW property!!

Oddly, driving through the gate doesn't do it for me. I guess because I feel like I'm already there. Pulling up to the resort in the bus, though, I can barely contain myself from pushing everyone aside and tearing off the bus to inhale my first deep breath of Disney air. Ahhhh!

Okay now you guys have me worked up. ;)

- Buying my refillable mug.
- Turning on Stacey!
- Changing into shorts and sandals.
- Looking with pity at the people waiting for the Magical Express to go home.
- “Por favor, manténgase alejado de las puertas”!

The minute I land in Florida, feel the warm air, and see my happy trees (palm trees). Going under the Disney World sign though is also an happy feeling!!

We drive down from New Jersey. My happy feeling begins with the "Welcome home" as we pull up to our resort!!

I get that feeling just by ringing DVC to make a ressie!!! :lmao:

But also when I spot those big white birds from the plane window as we taxi in :yay::yay:

Planning our first trip, but every time I find something that I know my daughters are just going to *LOVE* I get the tingles. I can't wait to see the expressions on their faces and experience the magic for the first time right along with them!

Loving this thread.... tearing up just reading it! whew Disney magic is powerful stuff!
After 9 trips of driving down from NJ, this Sept we are flying down for the first time! So I am very excited reading all of your "tingly" moments that have to do with MCO and Magical Express! Can't wait!

For me, the excitment begins with seeing the first billboards advertising WDW. Then it's the purple signs, passing under the Welcome sign and of course, checking into our resort. I can feel my heartrate slowly increasing with each of these milestones.

For me, it's immediately after check-in. I turn and am on my way, and it's all ahead of me. The entire week. There is nothing like that moment.

When I step through the gates at MK and hear the music with Cinderella's castle in the faraway distance! :cool1:

We usually leave the frigid cold air, snow and ice in Michigan in January and 2-1/2 hours later we land in Orlando and we are so happy when we get off the plane and see blue sky, sunshine and palm trees!!! pixiedust:

Another "moment" is boarding the Magical Express bus.

And when we step off the bus at Port Orleans and walk in to register.

And when we get to our room.

And when we board a bus to go to one of the parks...and again when we get to the park.

So many "moments" and we love them all!! :)

There's so many of them!! Lol
Definitely the moment you're getting off the plane and can feel the warmth & humidity, it's just a big breathe of "welcome home" and then of course, walking into the hotel lobby to check in for the first time (and honestly, over at AKL, it was every single time I walked into the lobby)

Then walking into MK, seeing the castle, I also have a habit of managing to arrive just when MSEP is going on and there's nothing more magical than that to me!

Musty water smell.

Especially on the PoC! I know I am home when I smell the water. I know gross. Its funny because my family will even say "wow it smells like PoC in here...and we won't even be at Disney."

Once I land at the Orlando airport and see those palm trees, I always say "Ahhhh, I'm home :cool1:".

Yes! We even like the MCO monorail from the terminals - starts to make it real.

Also for us, seeing the WDW sign over the entrance gives us that feeling.

- When we board the airplane to Orlando and the door of the airplane is shut.

- Walking into POFQ and just hearing and seeing the activity around

- Going to our room for the first time.

Ahh, only 139 more days!!

Pro favor mantenganse alejado De las puertas.
.,

This always makes me smile, but my first moment is riding that airport tram and it seems like the monorail. Then I love that DME video too! I watch it just like kids who are seeing it for the first time!

The ones that make me cry are seeing the castle walking into MK on our first day and seeing Wishes with my family!

We are going in 8 days and this thread is getting me ridiculously excited! My favorites are:

- the first time you hear the "Disney Voice" on the DME video
- pulling up to the first park and the announcement/music that goes with it
- seeing the Castle. THAT is when I know I'm finally home!
