The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Thanks for photographic tour! That really affirms my decision to stay at AKL!

I love your water gun pics, very clever movie titles! You also have some very neat "smiles". I've noticed that those aren't on the main smile list, do you create those yourself or is there a website you get them from?

Love the Japanese PChef inspired Streetmosphere person! Very very clever!

Great updates Glennbo!

Love all the photos. And I’m glad you found some lost shots. I found some on my mom’s camera a few months ago from our tip in ’09. Those are always fun little finds.

Since this isn't the Captain's TR and I won't get any points if I'm right, I'm not going to do any extensive research......but I think the WAAAAAHmbulance joke is from Disney's The Kid with Bruce Willis. If you haven't seen it, it's a cute show.

I have no idea if that's correct or not, but I'm very proud to see you carrying on the spirit of my TR! :goodvibes

So I guess this would make you a Raider of the Lost Card. (rim shot)

an army that carries the card before it....is invincible.

Well, I'm sure it was a very nice-looking doorknob.

Oh, most assuredly.

Once again, you've got some great ones!

Thanks!

I was told by someone that the correct term is "table-tennis". So I kept calling it ping-pong in front of him, because that's the kind of guy I am. :stir:

Love it. :rotfl2:

Bridges are cool. And the little details in the theme are awesome, too.

One of my college roommates was in charge of rebuilding a bridge near my in-laws' house. So far it's holding up. I try not to think about the fact that I knew this guy when.

Admit it, you climbed up the ropes and tooks some trips down the slide here, didn't you? Because that's what I would have done. :thumbsup2

That particular play equipment is a little small, even for me. Now the water guns on the other hand...

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

From Kidani With Love!

Good one!

Cool! But where's your favorite urinal? :confused3

I'm a guy, the world is my.......nope, not gonna give the Tag Fairy that one.

Well, obviously that's your elbow. They're like fingerprints, really. :rotfl2:

Good to know.

Looks awesome. And nice pictures!

Thanks again.

Yup. I'm pointing at it right now.

You were a little too far to the right.

Well done! :thumbsup2

Thanks yet again. Boy, I'm getting a swelled head.

Oooooh, you get sucked into a computer? popcorn::

You think I'm kidding, don't you.

Great pictures of AKL! That is too cool they have a ping-pong table by the pool.

Thank you. I thought for sure that ping-pong was in my future, but we never played.

Love the Rocker Dude pic!

She got a good one. It helps when the Streetmosphere pose like that!

:cloud9: Your timing couldn't be better... I'm right now trying to decide where I want to stay next Dec., assuming I have choices at the 7-month mark. Since we were at Kidani last summer, I wasn't putting it very high on the list. But your photo tour is reminding me how much we enjoyed Kidani, so I'm reconsidering!

You were quite complimentary of it in your TR. You didn't like the AC controls in the room, but other than that you really liked it, if my memory serves.

~sigh~ I miss Sanaa!

Me too. I have to convince Judy to give it another try.

Ooo, did you storm Epcot on a Light Cycle?! :yay:

Hmmm. You'll have to wait!

and rose hits one out of the park.

On Marv, no less.

very nice update glenn, enjoyed the tour of the property i have not seen many of those locations so thanks.

Thanks. You're most welcome.

the kid play area looked nice, but i thought there would be more in there, maybe i just had my bearings wrong on what i was looking at.

where there water slides in there?

This was just the "little tyke" section of the water play area. The other end has the water guns, and snakes and flowers that spray water, and buckets that drop water on you and stuff like that.

There's a small, kiddie water slide at the side of the pool (ie. not the one that goes below the bridge).

Since this isn't the Captain's TR and I won't get any points if I'm right, I'm not going to do any extensive research......but I think the WAAAAAHmbulance joke is from Disney's The Kid with Bruce Willis. If you haven't seen it, it's a cute show.

I haven't seen it. Good catch!

I figured Marv didn't make that up on his own. ;)

Oh, I'd LOVE to go during F&W...you have no idea! But it's too difficult on the kids to get caught up on their schoolwork if they miss several days, and now Judy's teaching so it's pretty much out of the question. Some day though. Mark my words....it may be decades away, but some day I'll be there during F&W.

Totally understand. At this point, I still pull them because I am negligent. :rotfl2:

You're right Magdalene definitely needs some competition to keep her on her toes.

Correct! You have successfully ah, dethroned Magdalene. At least for now.

Well, it really sounds like there is something fishy going on.... How much did Marv pay you to make you post when I am away in Berlin visiting my dear sister???

And what kind of rules are these that the one who made the last correct guess is in the lead? I wonder wether it would be worth it to ask for an appeal by the rules committee, so far they always seemed to side with me against Marv... But since I am not competitive at all, I think I will let it go.

Otherwise: great photo tour! I love the it when DISers go and take pictures for the purpose of those planning trips! This was what got me into the DIS in the first place: resort pictures!

And I am sure when you ask Marlene, she will say that her knee smiley means much more to her personally than your pictures of an empty playground where your kids never played at and never will mean to you... ;)

I would totally be negligent right along with you....but my kids won't let me. :confused3 Well, they used to - but the school put into place a few years ago an policy/incentive that if a student misses less than 2 days in a semester and is passing the class (don't know if it's just with a C or if it has to be a B) that they don't have to take finals. Now my kids, at least my youngest, will not miss school for anything! It doesn't matter if the absences are excused or not, the one exception I have found so far is they allow Juniors and Seniors to have two college visits per year that do not count against their absences.

Good! Glad you liked it.

Photobucket. Just go to the search window and type "whatever you're looking for smiley". For example, for that chapter I typed "spy smiley" and it came up with some that were like Spy vs. Spy from Mad magazine. I thought, "No, that's not what I'm looking for". Then I tried "james bond smiley", thinking that there would be no way there'd be such a thing...but lo and behold, there was the perfect one!

Love the Japanese PChef inspired Streetmosphere person! Very very clever!

I would have never dreamed that up. I still can't believe I walked right by her without ever noticing.

Great updates Glennbo!

Yes..."Serendipity!" my mom says, upon finding a dollar in a coat pocket or something unexpected like that.

I have no idea if that's correct or not, but I'm very proud to see you carrying on the spirit of my TR! :goodvibes

Just another American who saw too many movies as a child?

Staying one step ahead of the tag fairy. ;) <-- now that's a tag I'd like, which means I won't get it.

Totally understand. At this point, I still pull them because I am negligent. :rotfl2:

We did for a cruise a couple of years ago and my oldest had so much work when we returned that she vowed "never again". So even if I wanted to, they (or at least she) won't let us.

Well, it really sounds like there is something fishy going on.... How much did Marv pay you to make you post when I am away in Berlin visiting my dear sister???

Believe me, it wasn't enough.

And what kind of rules are these that the one who made the last correct guess is in the lead? I wonder wether it would be worth it to ask for an appeal by the rules committee, so far they always seemed to side with me against Marv... But since I am not competitive at all, I think I will let it go.

Oh, I didn't mean he took the lead....just broke the streak you had going. :)

I think he has a ways to go to take the lead. Let's see, I had those figures here somewhere....

Otherwise: great photo tour! I love the it when DISers go and take pictures for the purpose of those planning trips! This was what got me into the DIS in the first place: resort pictures!

I know what you mean. I couldn't get enough Kidani pictures before our first stay there.

And I am sure when you ask Marlene, she will say that her knee smiley means much more to her personally than your pictures of an empty playground where your kids never played at and never will mean to you... ;)

I can't argue that point!

No finals?! What a great incentive that is!

I love visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge and this might have been the first trip I didn't make it over there. Loved seeing the pictures of Kidani Village. Just love the decor. :goodvibes And the animal viewing area looks so cool!

This inspired me to get out my 2004 passporter with the notes about my first WDW trip:

Day 1: arrived at WDW at noon, bus to AK (lunch at Flame Tree), inspect huge building site for Everest (and other park touring), dinner at Boma

So, it was my first ever TS restaurant at WDW as well! :goodvibes

We also had lunch at 50's PTC, dinner at Le Cellier (yes, it was hyped on the internet even then!), dinner at Ohana. 4.5 days in the parks... We payed $1293.99 for a package with 5 nights at POR and length-of-stay tickets (for 4 nights, i.e. 5 days) to the parks. Today the same package would be $1,567.16. That's a 21.1% increase in 7 years while according to the US Inflation calculator it should have only risen 15.8%.

Interesting facts! And yes, it makes me even happier about DVC too!

I didn’t even see this lady! In this picture you can see that she’s using five sets of tongs as a fan. Okaaaaay. Good imagination!

101_1224.jpg

:rotfl2: That is so clever! Love it!

I enjoyed your Kidani walkabout. It's such a beautiful resort. Henry had a BLAST in that kiddy area! It's so well done with the play ground being a part of the splash area. Plus the benches for Mom and Dad. :thumbsup2

Beautiful shot of the backside of Kidani.

Backside. That's an interesting term for it. Kidani's butt?!!

I hope your ladies were up and at 'em so you can become TRON quickly!

After a long hiatus I came back and got up to date on reading your trip report (in between posts chit-chat will take longer, tough :lmao:).

I enjoyed the Nemo pics a lot... and you are right, it was like seeing a video

But when it is a tag, that disclaimer won't be there will it?! :rotfl2:

I figured it had to be quote of some sort but out of context it made me :rotfl2:

Yeah, all by itself it doesn't sound very... well, manly. :rotfl:

I could have kept going, but the "Yippie-ki-yay, m@#%@#%#$%" part probably wouldn't have been taken well.

Well, your last trip was a pretty quick one with at least one firm commitment to be elsewhere, so that's understandable.

We love it there too. :)

I was always partial to Roy Rogers...I really liked those sequined shirts. ;)

Well played!

Now that is one for the tag fairy. :rotfl2:

In my defense, we were quoting Die Hard. :thumbsup2

But when it is a tag, that disclaimer won't be there will it?! :rotfl2:

I figured it had to be quote of some sort but out of context it made me :rotfl2:

Hmmm, do you need me to vouch for you Captain?

Quote? What quote? Hee hee hee.

:rotfl2: That is so clever! Love it!

I hope she bought that stuff....that they didn't just give it to her! ;)

Thanks. That play area also seems to be enclosed by landscaping a little bit, so you know they're confined to just that area, which is good when you're mellowing out on a bench. Not that I did, but I can imagine.

Beautiful shot of the backside of Kidani.

Backside. That's an interesting term for it. Kidani's butt?!!

They should have painted it Baboon Blue.

I hope your ladies were up and at 'em so you can become TRON quickly!

I guess the title gave it away that we get there at some point, didn't it?

Welcome stranger. It's good to see you've made it back to these parts Trib. You're very ambitious if you plan to read all the chit-chat as well as the chapters. :faint:

Glad you liked them. Get the Nemo music and play it while you look at that chapter and you're all set.

Due to some of our men friends on here harrassing me, I have a PTR started if you want to pop in. :)
