The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

I even waited for a while before I posted my reply... I think Katharina had a fair chance as well, but possibly she was being a nice sister and knowing that I was in the running for winning that game did not want to take points away from me

I think some stupid work stuff disturbed my morning DIS time yesterday...

Katharine always plays the nice sister, doesn't she?

::yes::

Yes, she hopes to get to stay in my DVC villa for free, so she better IS the nice sister!! :rolleyes1

I know she was nice long before your purchase.

Thank you, Glenn! It's good you didn't know us when we were kids....

That picture of Everest through the flags is so cool. I love that. You also got a great picture of the yeti and of the kids whooping it up.

Sorry that Judy did not go on the ride because of her neck. I can relate to that after my waterslide whiplash episode on theh VB water slide.

I can't wait to see more of your pictures from AK. Love the redneck photos!

Wow, I love that panoramic pic! The Resort looks really nice. I'd love to stay over there some day.

Yes, EE two times! :woohoo: That is such a fun ride. I can't believe you were messing with your camera during the drop! Makes a funny pic though. I see that there was also a guy videotaping the ride in one of the other redneck pics! I'd be afraid to accidently let go of the camera!

Still not picking up any Wi-Fi I'm sure. ;)

Not on the savanna, but maybe in the barn?

I have this setting on my camera but havbe not tried it out yet. Almost like having a fisheye lens.

This is something I picked up from Great Biscuit on his trip report. It's not a camera setting, but software that stitches together multiple photos. It's a free download from Microsoft, called Windows Live Photo Gallery. So, for this picture I took 12 photos...6 across the horizon getting the sky and the buildings, 6 across the savanna, and 6 shooting lower. In the software you just click on the 12 pictures and select a menu item to create a stitched photo and after a couple of minutes of the computer doing its thing, it's done!

It must be a barrel of laughs trying to tune that!

I hadn't thought of that! Yeah, that'd be a nightmare.

Nice quick hop. Not so close to everything else though.

Most people say that, but I don't think it's too bad. Maybe I'm just used to it.

I see you went the EE route. We toured Africa first off to try to see some animals while they were moving about. Still, you can't beat two quick rides on EE and FP still in hand!

You can always work-in the safari....EE will always be the first stop for me.

Don't they know that you're on vacation? Well, I just thank my lucky stars that my job doesn't follow me after I leave.

Oh yes, this person knew quite well. Like, reaaaaaaly well. That's all I'm saying.

I caught some of that on my solo trip. Most people understood that I was alone but sometimes...you would get a wierd look.

Looking forward to the next installment!

These other people should write a trip report, then if they themselves aren't taking strange pictures, then they can at least write about the people they encounter who are.

So, Judy's sends arrows right through your nose??!

She wanted to make sure it didn't just glance off.

I too, LOVE EE's theming!! Always amazing the stuff in there! Unfortunately, it went way too fast- too fast for sure to find any hidden Mickey's- which I looked for again in your pictures, but could not find.

I don't spend too much time looking for hidden Mickey's. (As evidenced by my lack of pictures at WL. :rolleyes1 ) If I see them, great, but I'm not really looking for them.

I KNOW ALL about tweaked necks on EE. :rolleyes1

Oh no! I warned you!

Never use the phone in Disney, unless you are using it to get stuff posted to a PTR.... ;) Ever.

Yeah, you might accidentally send a text to someone you didn't intend.

Nice "cattle are lowing" reference; Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat.

Can you imagine what Mary said about her second child? "Oh, he's so much more fussy than his older brother! The first one was a dream. Went right to sleep when we put him down. Didn't even cry when he woke up. This one, oy! Don't get me started."

Please spare a penny for the old man's hat!!!!!!!

Is that a reference to the Christmas goose?

Thank you, Glenn! It's good you didn't know us when we were kids....

I refuse to believe that you were anything other than an angel.

That picture of Everest through the flags is so cool. I love that. You also got a great picture of the yeti and of the kids whooping it up.

Thanks. That one looks like something you'd take.

Sorry that Judy did not go on the ride because of her neck. I can relate to that after my waterslide whiplash episode on theh VB water slide.

She went once, but that's all she dared.

I can't wait to see more of your pictures from AK. Love the redneck photos!

Good! I didn't take as many as you and Jen, but there are some more coming.

Wow, I love that panoramic pic! The Resort looks really nice. I'd love to stay over there some day.

Thanks Tink! I hope you get to stay there sometime. :goodvibes

I don't look too scared about that drop do I? I don't know, I guess I keep a pretty good grip on the camera because I've never felt like I was going to lose it. I had to go back and look at the guy videotaping!

She wanted to make sure it didn't just glance off.

Just making sure it didn't touch your cerebellum.

I don't spend too much time looking for hidden Mickey's. (As evidenced by my lack of pictures at WL. :rolleyes1 ) If I see them, great, but I'm not really looking for them.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Oh no! I warned you!

I know. I KNOW!!!!

Yeah, you might accidentally send a text to someone you didn't intend.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Remind me what the ghostly conversation was all about! Lordy, that was so funny!!!

Can you imagine what Mary said about her second child? "Oh, he's so much more fussy than his older brother! The first one was a dream. Went right to sleep when we put him down. Didn't even cry when he woke up. This one, oy! Don't get me started."

Wouldn't it be ironic if God gave the 2nd one colic?? :lmao:

Is that a reference to the Christmas goose?

I think so.

Great update! We appreciate your dedication in taking any and all pictures of great theming like the true Dis'er you are!

See what I get for watching Dancing with the Stars. :rotfl2:

1 Judy - But you and everyone else already knew that. :lmao:

I am split on the safari and EE. If I am alone I will Fp and then ride safari if i am there at rope drop. Actually with single rider line, I think we always SR EE and FP safari.

I was way behind, so thanks for the chapter links so I could catch back up. Glad to hear the move went well and great pix from AKV. Looking forward to more.

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: Oh my gosh! That was hilarious. Best laugh of the day so far. Thanks Glenn!

Glad I could help. (But it wasn't supposed to be that hilarious.)

See what I get for watching Dancing with the Stars. :rotfl2:

At least you have a good excuse.

Do you think the animals are more active early? I know some people think so, but I'm skeptical.

Yikes! Again I got 2 chapters behind! Getting up to date glennbo123 :goodvibes

Tribilín, Tribilín, Tribilín. :sad2: Just kidding. Glad you're getting caught up.

I was way behind, so thanks for the chapter links so I could catch back up. Glad to hear the move went well and great pix from AKV. Looking forward to more.

You're very welcome. Give the links a workout.

Hey, big football game this Saturday. I hope PSU will be able to give your guys some challenge.

Gotta love that single riders' line! Extremely expeditious, indeed!

Yes, indeed. I'm glad my kids were comfortable with riding separately. They felt like EE veterans.

When I was growing up, if anyone asked you if you wanted a Christmas "goose"...the correct response was an emphatic "NO!"

 I know what geese do. They are vicious creatures who have no decency or regard as to what flesh they aim for. They are better off on a platter or in pate.

BTW, surely you know that rhyme/song, right??

Christmas is coming,
The goose is getting fat,
Please spare a penny for the old man's hat.

If you don't have a penny,
A half penny'll do,
If you don't have a half a penny,
God bless you!

The cattle were….lowing, I guess.

:rotfl2: Nice one!!!
I wonder if it’s physically possible for them to lay their heads down?
Yes, but their legs tend to pop up in the air when that happens.........
Then I took twelve pictures of our view which I stitched-together into this panorama:

IMG_3305Stitch.jpg
Excellent view of HOME!!!:thumbsup2
Around quarter to nine I finally had all of my troops heading toward the bus stop. I had to pause for some artwork. This is a harp.

IMG_3317.jpg
WHAT????? No fertility goddesses to start your day??? :confused3
We arrived at Animal Kingdom at 9:10 and made a bee-line for Everest. Fastpasses were the first order of business.
SCORE!!!!
The line was pretty short, so we all rode standby. I love the theming you see in the queue for Everest, it may be the best in Disney (and therefore the world), so I tried to take plenty of pictures.
Agree the theming is great here, but I thought when I was in Tibet it looked a little more original...... :rolleyes1

I always have mixed feelings when I am in the ride queue for EE. On one side, you want the line to move quickly and get you to the ride, but on the other, it means you don't have time to really admire all the hidden treasures they have for you to enjoy!!!
On our ascent, we tried to keep our heads tight against the headrests. (Last year, Judy’s head slipped off of the headrest and she hurt her neck.) I didn’t take any pictures on the ride until we got to the top, where we found (as we always do) that the rails had been destroyed.
The rails are destroyed??? :scared1: When did THAT happen? I guess we won't get to ride in December while they do a refurb........ :sad2:
This is my best yeti-shadow picture ever!

IMG_3330.jpg
Super kudos on this shot!!!! That is fantastic!!!! :woohoo:
We loved it so much we wanted to go again. Judy didn’t want to risk hurting her neck again so decided to wait for us in the gift shop. As the rest of us walked over to get in line, we noticed the Single Rider entrance. We talked and agreed that we didn’t necessarily have to ride together. So we entered the Single Rider line and we were all riding again in just a couple of minutes. That’s how you ride Everest expeditiously.
Oh sure, tell all the secrets...... Now the SR line is going to be longer when we get there!!!! We love this ride, and try to hit it at least three times every time we enter AK!!!
We found Judy in the dump shop and she was surprised to see us already, we’d gotten through so fast using the Single Rider line. As we left, she got a call on her cell phone from one of her PChef consultants. It was not a good call. She talked on her cell phone outside of the gift shop for probably 10 or 15 minutes, as we waited. As much as I’d like to discuss it, I’d better not, other than to say that it put a damper on the rest of the day.
:sad2:
Great update Glen !!! The theming inthe standbye line looks awesome !!May be I'll check that out as long as there is a chicken exit available !!!
Chickens? Piglets?? Have you no SHAME Rosie??? :rotfl:
Of course, I went to bed at 10:30 last night because we had to get up a little early and missed the Judy contest AGAIN! But then, so did Marv.
Oh sure, rub it in will ya'........
good update glenn,
liked all the line pics havent road that ride in a while.

very funny guys, took me a while to figure out why you were talking conversions.
I guess now we can start a conversion on ROADing RIADs........
I know, sorry about that. Again, I was writing and just figured I'd just go ahead and post it. I thought that I was practically handing all of the points to Magdalene, but was surprised to see that Rosie and Tammie had the first shot at them.
Well Tammie not getting them surprises me......Rosie, not so much!!! ;)
Marvin made me do it!
Yeah, I bet your arm is REALLY hurting from that severe twisting I had to do!!!!
I even waited for a while before I posted my reply... I think Katharina had a fair chance as well, but possibly she was being a nice sister and knowing that I was in the running for winning that game did not want to take points away from me (like the heavily debated tactic in Formula One car racing at the moment).... But since you have lost count (how could that ever happen????) it will be easy for me just to claim that I am the winner!!! :cool1: Along with Brook and Marv or any one else.... :
You're a winner in my book, Magdalene!!!!:thumbsup2
Oh I totally believe that! But I am just the opposite -- I'm always mesmerized by Judy.
cupidhit.gif
You got a birthday coming up or something???
Now hold on, there's still a lot of the game left to be played. (But I can see that we'll probably have lots of people claiming to be the winner.)
Still haven't read all the rules to the game, huh? It is only possible for one person to win the game. I, uh, the Rules Committee rather, made sure of it!!! :)
When I was growing up, if anyone asked you if you wanted a Christmas "goose"...the correct response was an emphatic "NO!"
Sounds like the same Christmas "goose" I'm familiar with.....
Do you think the animals are more active early? I know some people think so, but I'm skeptical.
I've heard arguments both ways, but I tend to agree with your assessment......

If you haven't got a penny a Happenny will do !!

If haven't got a penny, then God Bless you!!!

Glen that is the Rhyme ..Christmas is a coming ....:yay:

 I know what geese do. They are vicious creatures who have no decency or regard as to what flesh they aim for. They are better off on a platter or in pate.

BTW, surely you know that rhyme/song, right??

Christmas is coming,

Please spare a penny for the old man's hat.

If you don't have a penny,
A half penny'll do,
If you don't have a half a penny,
God bless you!

Nope, sorry ladies. That one was completely lost on me.

Yes, but their legs tend to pop up in the air when that happens.........

:rotfl2: I'd love to see that!

Excellent view of HOME!!!:thumbsup2

Yep-er.

WHAT????? No fertility goddesses to start your day??? :confused3

Maybe I just didn't take a picture.

Agree the theming is great here, but I thought when I was in Tibet it looked a little more original...... :rolleyes1

No, Tibet is a cheap imitation.

I always have mixed feelings when I am in the ride queue for EE. On one side, you want the line to move quickly and get you to the ride, but on the other, it means you don't have time to really admire all the hidden treasures they have for you to enjoy!!!

True. It's hard to believe that you actually wouldn't mind if the line slowed down a little.

The rails are destroyed??? :scared1: When did THAT happen? I guess we won't get to ride in December while they do a refurb........ :sad2:

Yes, don't waste your time trying to ride it in December. :rolleyes1

Super kudos on this shot!!!! That is fantastic!!!! :woohoo:

I've taken that same picture probably a half a dozen times, but they've always been a little blurry. I guess I can stop now, I'll never top that one.

Oh sure, tell all the secrets...... Now the SR line is going to be longer when we get there!!!! We love this ride, and try to hit it at least three times every time we enter AK!!!
:sad2:

Whoops.

I guess now we can start a conversion on ROADing RIADs........

This one has gone over my head :duck: -- just like that "spare a penny for the old man's hat" rhyme.

Yeah, I bet your arm is REALLY hurting from that severe twisting I had to do!!!!

Yes, OUCH!

You got a birthday coming up or something???

It's never too early to start working on points.

Still haven't read all the rules to the game, huh? It is only possible for one person to win the game. I, uh, the Rules Committee rather, made sure of it!!! :)

I'm sure of it.

Sounds like the same Christmas "goose" I'm familiar with.....

I'll bet it is.

I've heard arguments both ways, but I tend to agree with your assessment......

Good to know.

:rotfl2: I'd love to see that!
I'm sure that one would quickly get the attention of the Disney clean-up crew! Don't want to upset the kiddos.......
No, Tibet is a cheap imitation.
:lmao:
Yes, don't waste your time trying to ride it in December. :rolleyes1
Wow, thanks for the great advice! :thumbsup2
I've taken that same picture probably a half a dozen times, but they've always been a little blurry. I guess I can stop now, I'll never top that one.
Think you are right!
This one has gone over my head :duck: -- just like that "spare a penny for the old man's hat" rhyme.
Go back to my post, and carefully read Dan's post I was responding to. I think you will get it...... He was responding to our discourse about conversation and conversion......;)
It's never too early to start working on points.
Pearls of wisdom I have never seemed to grasp..... :confused3

Behind again.:confused3

I have to go back to your WCC update. I love that you got called out for taking food pictures.:rotfl: We enjoyed the antics when we went there in 2009 and yes we did get a table full of ketchup. I didn't get the milkshake for the same reason you stated, I was saving room for the food. This was one of our favorite fun meals of that trip.

What a cool treat to meet Ranger Joe. I remember him from MEK's trip report. Not fair that you didn't share the hidden Mickeys.

Your room looks fabulous and your view even better. A nice resort night was just what was needed. I have to agree with others, waking up to dirty dishes stinks.

I love the panoramic photo of you view!:cloud9: And your morning at AK so far aside from the call sounds great. Thanks for all the pictures of the EE line. I've only been through it once stand by and I was so busy looking we didn't take pictures.
