the mickeys from home depot??

i was reading a few posts and hear of the lime green ribbons and some mickeys that people buy from home depot?? i was wondering what this was and are there any rules to the lime green ribbons??? do you need so many posts or have to of been to disney so many times?? this is my first time to disney in march..... thank you vicki

From what I have read here; at Home Depot, in the paint section, there is a section of Disney paints. The paint chips are Mickey heads. DIS'ers go there and get the lime green samples. They wear them to DisneyWorld with lime green ribbons. Or else they wear lime green ribbons when they go. Anyone can do it.

Lime Green is the official color of the DisBoards! And yes, I have lime green Mickey paint chip luggage tags too!

Thanks so much for the info. I was trying to figure out how I was going to find a lime green Mickey head but you have answered that question for me. Anybody have ideas on how to perserve them so they don't get beaten up? I'm thinking of maybe making a pin or something.

I just went to Office Depot and bought the self-laminating sheets- worked really well! Especially because I can write info on where I am going to on the mickey heads and then wipe it off later (to use them as luggage tags..)

You could also laminate them (you can buy laminate sheets in the office supply section WalMart, Target, etc. or any office supply store).

I am so excited, I just got back from home depot an hour ago. I went just to get the lime green mickey heads for my daughter and myself. We leave for WDW on sunday morning. I was thinking of pinning them to our backpacks.

Although if they would have stopped me they would have seen that I had 5 of them in hand. Oh well made it out without a problem, so everyone will be able to find me in March.

OMG, I thought I was the only "paint chip junkie". I have a huge collection. The nice workers there pretty much know me, and don't seem to mind. Anytime I go in there with hubby, I go get some more.. ha ha.

Hey MSTINK82. We are leaving the same time staying at POR for 1 day and moving on to OKW. I have a Green Mickey head for my backpack and a green ribbon for the stroller. I am also trying to talk DH into getting the whole family green t-shirts and put a iron-on transfer "Got DIS?". So if anyone sees a family of 5 with that on don't hesitate to say HI.

I've got my Mickey head all set. It has my user name on it, my sister will also be wearing one I think. We're excited to go , we want to leave the cold and the snow to hang out with Mickey!! Can't wait to meet some DIS' people down there!

We added names, laminated them and used a hole punch. We'll either tie them on things with green ribbons or use the plastic ties for strollers, etc.
