This is my first trip report so please bear with me.
It had been 6 years since we visited WDW. Last time was a disaster with our son being really ill. In fact they wouldn't let him back on the plane until we had a note from the Doctor. Anyway we decided to go again. In 2005 my wife had skin cancer; she was treated and got the all clear after 3 months. It was after this that we decided to go again as we felt that what the heck lets just do it.
The cast is Significnat Other (SO) 33, Son Number 1 (S1) 8 and Son Number 2 (S2) 6 oh and me 34...
Day 1 was a travelling day - not very eventful. We were all up at 6am - the boys were very excited and raring to go. The drive to Gatwick was good and the check in was smooth; we were through security pretty quick only then to find out that we had a 2 hour delay!! So there was time for shopping.
The boys were really excited about the plane ride. However they fell asleep just as we landed. The immigration took a while as I had completed the form incorrectly.
I upgraded the car as we had 4 large suitcases; boy what a car - a chrysler 3.5 something - it was big and powerful.
Now the last time we went to Orlando we missed the junction for the Florida Greenway so this time I was well prepared with maps and directions. So off we went but oh dear we missed the turning again. This led to the usual husband/wife row about 'can't you read a map' etc. This was short lived because fortunately I had memorised the map (I know it is sad) so when we came to the junction with Boggy Creek Rd and Osceola Parkway (by the way I mis-pronounced this road for the whole 2 weeks) I knew that turning right would take us straight to WDW and to ASMU where we were staying.
We were in room 2601 which was 5 minutes from both pools and also Intermission Food Court. The room was just right and clean. The boys were absulutely shattered so they went straight to sleep ready for their first day of fun.
Day 1 to follow...
