The Meanest Mother in the World--A L-B TR, 5/05 *DONE. p.65, with one last pic*

Oh but you must experience the joy that is a Disney Cruise. Mai Tai I say Disney Cruiseline is a Fastpass!

Enjoying your report!

Kim--Now that was not boring at all. I can totally relate to the inability to relax with little ones at the pool. Be there, done that. Now that my little guy can swim in the deep water, I may hunt down a mai tai and try have a bewaxing day on our day off at Disney. Loved hearing about yours. :)

At one point I went for dry towels. I was wearing the Disney Cruise Line t-shirt that the Enabler brought back for me one time. Anyway, the man passing out the towels asked how I'd liked the cruise. When I explained that I'd never been, he said, "Oh you've got to do it. THAT's a vacation." He gestured with his arms open, "This -- this is fun, but it's work."

He's right, you know. But you're right, too. They are different vacations. Both are fun to experience. But, as we planners know, WDW vacations are often more fun just because they require so much more planning!

We did the 3 day WDW/4 day cruise thing. The cruise was great, but that was just too little of each. Personally, I'd rather do 7 days at one or the other. Just my 2 cents. In case you every decide to do the cruise. ;)

Ah...relaxation day. It's not boring. It's smart. And absolutely necessary for everyone's mental health!!

By day 4 of our trip, we decided it would be fun to take a day off. The original plan had been to alternate park days with "down" days, in order to make our trip more bewaxing. That's Sydneyspeak for "relaxing."

Kimmie!!!!

Mama like!!!

I finally got caught up on your TR. Truelly wonderfull writing. I look forward to the rest :thumbsup2

DD thinks if you stay somewhere with a pool, you should take the time to swim in it. Rarely, however, do we get the chance to do so. Usually by the time we are "ready" to swim it's raining or too cold or there is something that "I" think is much more important.... Of course, I must be part cat because I really am not into getting all wet in a pool, so almost anything else is more important. :cat:

So, your kids are lucky. Or at least so would say DD.

Amen sister. I mean cousin. Crap. What's our relationship again?

Kimmie -
seriously. I love these kind of installments just as much as the packed with activitygogogo episodes. Because this really is what vacation should be about. Quality (and quantity) time spent with the fam.

Excellent!

Joining.

I am really enjoying your trip report. You have really lovely children. It is great to se you are taking it easy and not over stressing. :thumbsup2

No more?!?! WOW! page 41 and only 4 days into the trip.. so if my math is correct this report should go on for about 80 pages, give or take 10 pages (depending on how exciting the trip home is) so we have 40 MORE PAGES left of wonderful storytelling! WOO HOO!! keep it coming!

But then I realized that he meant Disney World en toto. And he's right, in a way. It can be tiring. Exhausting, even. Definitely not the same as lounging on a deck chair sipping mai tais all day.

Why would anyone want to do THAT?

If Disney World is work, then I never want to retire.

Exactly!

You know we were exhausted after our whilwind trip last Dec. we only swam in the pool 1 afternoon for a couple of hours. The one thing we wished we had done was spend a relaxing afternoon sipping drinks and lounging by (in) the pool.

I've read your entire report today and loved every minute of it, especially the great pictures of your adorable babes!!

Can't wait for the rest, your a great TR writer!!

Thank goodness I didn't start reading this when you first posted it -- I am not that patient! I love your writing and your parenting -- my husband and I never make a threat or a promise we don't mean and it has made our lives much better in the long run. I always shake my head in pity when I see parents pull the "I'm going to leave you here if you don't come with me right now". The kids never come but they are never left. My kids are 13 and 9 now; stick with it!

Now back to your computer - start typing!

Wow. I have been waaay negligient over here. The summer has not been as, um, leisurely as I'd anticipated.

TONIGHT, though, I'm back at it. Getting over the hump and back into the swing of writing.

I am determined to finish this report before our next trip.

I understand, Kimmie. The summer is a terrible time to try to get some writing done. I haven't written anything for 2 months. I keep POSTING, but that just means I'm catching up to my current end.

I hope the next installment has pictures!
