The Meanest Mother in the World--A L-B TR, 5/05 *DONE. p.65, with one last pic*

I love love LOVE this trip report!!! It reminds me of a family I used to kidsit for. I loved them to pieces.

your trip report is very excellent, Kim! It reads like a novel (is just as good as one) and is in my favorite place of all time!!!! :wizard:

SydneyRalla is such a cutie...and your descriptions of Conor and Piper make them seem too cool for school

Great TR Cant wait for more

And you are officially endorsed by ZZUB. :cool1:

You in the big leagues now girl :thumbsup2

Just sitting here filling my mug with some Kool Aid. Orange, kinda like that flavor.

Thinking I may have to take mean notes... stand in line while DH has the kids??? Brilliant girl. That is the best idea I have seen here in awhile. Why have I never thought of this one???

Do you ever worry he will lose one?

I got my kool-aid too. Purple for me.

Nah, I don't think he'd lose one. He'd lose all of our stuff before losing one of the kids. I know because he did that once. Lost "the red backpack." With about $27 worth of diapers and wipes in it, a change of clothes for each kid, $15 in "emergency money," (y'know, for Dunkin' Donuts. Emergency.) the assorted necessities like sunscreen, hand gel, bubbles, crayons, My Little Ponies, bla bla bla. And Conor's brand new digital camera. That he'd gotten for his 5th birthday (it was not super expensive, and he doesn't really play with toys. So it was a great gift. Don't judge.)
Left the whole shebang under the table at the Outback. I wasn't there or it wouldn't have happened. I have to give him credit A) for taking the kids out to eat without me and B)NOT losing one of the kids rather than the backpack. I shouldn't complain.

Speaking of losing kids, I have to go. I'm at my sister's, babysitting. And I just realized that between her kids and mine, I'm currently responsible for 6 kids, aged 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Stairsteps. But I better get off the DIS before she thinks I'm neglecting them.

Wait, if she's reading this, then I guess she didn't have soooo much work to do, like she told me. Ha. Gotcha, Karen.

I think I'll have the next chapter ready for tomorrow!

Wow Great Trip Report. I admire your ability to keep secrets!! I have a hard time not telling my kids what Santa is bringing them.

This is my first post. Can't wait to hear what happens next.

I had read on the DIS, and heard from my Enabler, that the Cast Members at a DVC resort will say to you “Welcome home.” ‘Course, I also read a lot of “I didn’t get ONE ‘Welcome home’. You’d think they’d roll out a red carpet, fall on their knees and worship me, considering the money I spent to become a member. I DEMAND a free annual pass and a personal audience with Cinderella to make up for this trauma.”

Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration. I get that from my mom.

But seriously. As much as I adore the DIS, and have found it to be ever so fun and useful, the thing that dismays me is the unrealistic inflation of expectations that it sometimes causes. Just find yourself a thread about towel animals, or lack thereof, and you’ll get what I mean.

I love it when people share the magical experiences that they’ve had. What is a drag is when other people come to expect that they’ll have the exact same thing happen to them, and that their trip is “ruined” or they didn’t get their “money’s worth” if it doesn’t. Or when they try so hard to “make” the magic happen, that it takes the fun out of it.

I have to chime in on this...I couldn't agree with you more! When we went on our Honeymoon we got a lot of congratulations but not much more, and we couldn't have cared less...we were at Disney on our Honeymoon! We got back and all these people wanted to know what we got for free. When we said nothing they were shocked! One person even said that that would ruin her trip...I was floored...

Anyway, your report is excellent!

.....f.y.i.....i laugh/chuckle/smile everytime i read your title..and that
dosen't include the report. oh,boy! :)

Love your report. I am really happy that we are on chapter 7 and you just arrived, way to prolong the magic!!

Great report - I've been reading along with you. I just booked a trip to WDW for Sept/Oct and I really love the idea of keeping it a secret, but I'm not sure I'll be able to contain my excitement until then. You've given me inspiration though!

MJKmom --- One big reason I liked keeping it a surprise was that we didn't have to do "is it today? Is it today?" for 6 long months prior. My guys were just too little to really get the time span.

Next time, though, I'll do one of those cute paper chains or some such that people here seem to do -- they'll love making it and it will help them visualize the time left.

Thanks for joining! I had hoped to have another chapter ready to go today, but it still needs a little work, and, I think, some pictures. So I'll have to work at it a little more.

Stay tuned ...

First of all, I LOVE the trip report! I keep coming back to see if I've missed anything... :thumbsup2

Secondly, do you have an older sister named Kristine? (j/k - my name is karen, my younger sister is kim, and I have an older sister named kristine... just checkin to see if you're my younger sister. ;) )
