The May 2007 Rate/Code Watch

Sigh. The new codes would cost us an EXTRA $260. We already had a AAA discount on the room at the Poly and don't really need or want the water parks and more. I'm hoping something else comes out!

this was me,

lillygator,

What do you mean by one day ticket? Are you only going to a park one day? Sorry if I misinterpreted this...

Not lilygator, but I believe she carries annual passes due to the fact that they visit WDW so often (lucky!!;)) but in order to get a package, you have to buy room and tickets. So in order to get the deal, they have to buy at least a 1 day base ticket per person. They'll use their APs to visit the parks while there, and likely either save, sell, or use the 1 day tix to upgrade to APs at another time.

We saved approx. $50 over our AAA discount by going with this new code. We are a family of 4, 2 adults, 1 11 year old adult, and 1 child. We are at POP, with 8 day park hoppers plus dining. We did not originally book the WP option. I don't even know if we'll use the option, but we still saved money anyway!

My mom is going with us, and for her, the AAA discount was better, and using the code would have increased her rates. We have a couple of old passes that still have waterpark options on them, so she can use one of those if we decide to hit a WP.

Thanks to the information I got from this thread, I just called Disney and asked whether code ZFC could be applied to our reservation. I had made the reservation online for BCV from May 24 - 31, 2007, for myself, DH, and DD13 (we are not DVC members). At first the CM said the code was only available at WL and SSR, but she then suggested I let her dig a little further and she would check with Guest Services to see if there was a way to get us something. After about 10 minutes on hold, she came back and gave me a new total cost that was $271.27 lower.:yay: In the future I am not going to make reservations online, because she told me they can't be changed. She had to cancel the old reservation and create a totally new one, which is identical except for the savings from the code. We had already ordered the park hopper and plus features, because we always go to the water park once and my daughter wants to go back to Disney Quest. So this was a good deal for us. Apparently if I had made the original reservation over the phone, they could have simply added the code to that reservation. Is that consistent what others have experienced? Thanks for the info about the code! :)

We used the code and switched from the AS Music suite to two rooms at Pop and saved $595!!! The only down side is it is not a prefered room. Does anyone know what are now considered prefered rooms at Pop now, last year when we stayed there it was just the 60's but I heard they added parts of the 50's and 70's to the prefered rooms. When I asked the CM on the phone all she would tell me is "The rooms closer to the front", I asked over and over and she just kept saying the same thing. She had no clue. I want to be able to request my room location now, last year we requested the 70's and our room was closer then some prefered rooms.

Am I right in saying that you can't use both the new code for free hopping/water & the AAA discount too? It is only one or the other, right?

Yes, you can use either the AAA code or the new ZEY/ZFC code. That's why using the ZEY/ZFC code actually winds up costing some people more, because they lose the benefits they were getting under the AAA code. You just have to figure out which one is best for you. :)

I meant to add that we are staying at Pop for 7 days with dining and 7 day PH with the WP option. We originally weren't going to spend the money for the WP option but we have that option for free now thanks to the code and we will probably check out a water park at least once since we've never been to those at Disney before. So that was a nice upgrade in my book. My family consists of 2 adults and a 2 year old (at the time of our trip) and we saved approx. $166 with the code!

Does anyone know whether or not you are able to extend the tickets to 10 days (with a shorter hotel stay) and add the non-expiration option with these new codes for the spring? Hence, I will not be able to use all of the theme park and water park tickets during our stay, and I would love to be able to the rest of the tickets at a later date.

Assuming you have a package, yes. Call CRO/travel agent to apply the code to your package. Then ask them to upgrade your tix. :thumbsup2 The length of your hotel stay doesn't matter, as long as you have atleast a one day MYW ticket for each person in the room.

I know that this may be off topic...but last may I got all star sports on priceline for 36.00 a night. We are going again this year may 2nd-8th and got some really cheap air fare on southwest for 115.00 roundtrip including taxes. from Norfolk, VA. I was just wondering if anyone thinks that disney may offer rooms on priceline agian for this time of the year? If not I will just wait for an AP code to come up....but man that was a deal last year :)

100% correct...!

For Fl. Residents for May, any thoughts on when it will come out?:confused3

My guess is sometime next month or even March. Right now the codes are for stays until 3/30/07. Seems they usually release them about 2 mths or so in advance which makes sense because they look at the vacancies they have available and then figure out the discounts.

FL resident rates are usually the last to come out but lately they seem to coincide with the AP rates as well.

I bit the bullet and booked our May trip at POFQ using the ZFC code last Tuesday. I'm not sure how much we saved, but I was getting antsy at the thought of waiting til the end of February for AP codes. I might be tempted to cancel and rebook at AKL if good AP rates come out, but we shall see.

At any rate, I can't wait til May! :dance3:

We booked room only in December at POP for $99.00 a night for our May 1-5 stay. I just called Disney and got THE BEST cm. By canceling our POP reservations, then rebooking the reservations and adding tickets (that we would have bought anyway) the total came to $1200.00 (4 nights hotel and 4 three day hoppers). I am very pleased but hate to admit that I am one that always thinks that there is a better deal out there somewhere!

Also, we were able to book on Delta from Norfolk VA to Orlando non-stop for $98 per person round trip. For those flying out of VA definitely try Norfolk!
