The May 2007 Rate/Code Watch

I've been waiting for the AAA packages...and looking for them too...apparently they're out now. I'd better give them a shout! I'm from Canada so what really hurt us is the airline tickets. They're going to be close to $700/person! At least that's in Canadian dollars, but it's still pretty steep! We're going April 29-May 11, 6 nights POP, 6 nights POFQ. I'm actually on hold right now with Disney Vacations! SWEET!!!! I can't wait to go, we were there last May and it was beautiful! ASSp was a little budget.

Alright, my price from Disney just came through, I'm still waiting to hear back from AAA on their prices.

6 Nights Pop w/ Dining w/ 9 day PH & Waterparks
AND
6 Nights POFQ w/ Dining w/ 1 day PH & Water parks
Standard view rooms, no trip insurance......$3692.56 incl. taxes

The Cast Member had to throw the 1 day ticket on the POFQ just to make it a package but she assured me that it was at the same price as the other 9 so I'm not getting screwed. I'm curious to see what AAA has to say.....

A little help for this dummie ...please....since I have never looked for "Codes".

Where do you find them?? on the DIS?, Disney web site? Are there May codes out??

Thanks in advance Disers!! :grouphug:
A little suprised to see this question asked by someone with 1,261 posts but don't feel like a dummy, you came to the right place if you wanna find a code for May 2007, if there is gonna be any they will pop up here on this thread and elsewhere an the DIS. Also you can frequently check mousesavers.com for codes that are released. But there are also codes that are sent to individuals that only that specific person can use, no one really knows why that happens but from what I gather that is not so common anymore. The best way to try to get those codes mailed to you (commonly on a post card) is to send for the free Disney Vacation Planning video or DVD and/or sign up for stuff on the Disney web site. Codes are usually three letters like, YRJ or QFT, and you give the code to the person on the phone when making your ressie. Last year I got a code that was for Disney Visa card holders for Jan. 06 which let me upgrade basic park tickets to hoppers with plus options for free, it saved a little, I was happy. I had a code a couple years back that I got in the mail that I was not able to use because I could not travel on the dates that would have given me two free nights for every three booked, I wish I could have used it because I could have gotten 10 nights for the price of six, four free nights! I'm hoping for some free dining in May but that may be unrealistic.
By the way are you a DVC member?

DannyDisneyFreak.....

Yes... I was a little embarrassed  asking this question but I've been blessed and in all my 34 yrs. going to WDW...never worried about $$ or discounted codes...just made ressies.

Now... Im retired and plan on going more often, (the older ya get..the longer ya stay :lmao: ), so I thought I'd ask...and...thought there was something "new" out there that I didn't know about. ..since Im looking to adding on to my May stay.

Yes..I have my DVC and its wonderful, but, I can also handle a few solo trips back to the Poly, POR & GF for "ole time sake".

Dummie me :tilt: ...yea, I know about mousesavers & the DVP video. Guess my mind was focused on worrying about "Ernesto".
I had just come in from rehonkering down the boat and kyack's in the backyard, obviously based on the rise of the water level.

Seems all is well this AM..thank goodness for the new bulkhead. Thanks for your time in re-grounding my thinking. :wave2:

hey everyone, just joined the forum. Have plane tickets already bought for April 28 to May 6, 2007. Going to stay on site for this trip. Looking to save anyway possible. Any info on where to stay would be great. Two Adults and two older kids age 15 and 17. This will be only our second trip to WDW. Stayed off site for the first one. Our first trip was just fantastic. Anyway any advice would be great. If if hear of any codes or discounts for May 2007 I will post.

Hey All!!!! I just booked my airline tickets for April 29 to May 11. $600/person (Canadian Dollars)...that's why we're staying so long. We're planning on doing 6 nights at POP and 6 nights at POFQ, dining, 10 day hopper w/ waterparks! We can't wait! We've got a paper clip chain going on at home right now. 1 paper clip for every week...34 to go! I can hardly wait!

BTW, if you're splitting your time btwn 2 hotels and you're doing the package thing, you might want to look into buying the majority of your tickets using one of the hotels and pick up another 1 day pass at the other hotel in order to make it a package BUT don't turn the 1 day pass into a hopper or anything else....leave it base because it cost us almost $100/person more to add on hopper and waterparks...during my quote anyways.

Hello to all...planning on going in late April/early May (waiting for a schedule to come out at work then I get to book) Not sure where we'll stay...stayed at CBR and POR last time (Alligator Bayou). Want something different this time, but probably moderate for most of the trip. We want to stay at WL for a few nights and then move (can't afford 7 nights at a delux).

Question, do the rates ever bring a delux down to a moderate level? Are you more likely to get a rate at AKL of WL than GF, Contemporary or Poly?

I am subscribing, we are going May 21-26th. It is my birthday. We went this year and the weather was great! The crowd was not bad so my husband said this was a good week for him.

Hey, bdtracey we are going exactly the same dates April 29 - May 11. 5 nights POR, 7 nights WL!! Just booked ours.

Sweet Marvel!!! We haven't booked ours yet because our CAA agent (same thing as AAA, but Canadian) is on vacation and all of the other bonehead's I've talked to must not know how to set things up when the stay is being split. I'm getting quotes that are $200 higher than the one I got from Disney. We're doing the first part of our stay at POP and then the last part at POFQ. I'm heading out to my CAA place right now to try and get things straightened out.

1st family trip was this May. We had such a wonderful time - we're going back. I have an ap so we need to go prior to May 13th. I am thinking maybe April 27-May 4 or May 4-May11 (though this is grad weekend.)

Stayed at wilderness lodge with a code. Hope to do it again.

thinking of planning my trip to dw...thought about may 5-12
is that week grad week?...who is graduating?

Is it really grad week !! oh oh. Can anyone advise?? I did as much searching on the as possible and couldn't find anything. We booked through magicforless and they were $200 cheaper than all the other agents. Unfortunetly we don't have access to AAA.

Hey just found this thread, cool. We are booked and paid for.
Our family of 5 will be going May 7-14. Staying at AKL. Havent made ADRs yet, still too soon. We are sooo excited :Pinkbounc . This will be mine and DF's second time going to WDW(last time was in May as well), but our kids first time and it is a surprise so shhhh, lol.
I would love to get some discounts or specials for May that would be great to be able to save a little money. :thumbsup2 . Hopefully something will come out soon for the May travellers. :sunny:

Hello Everyone!!

I will have a close watch on this post...my first time for my family and I will be late May 2007. I am sooo excited. I haven't booked anything yet, but have been doing a bunch of research. Anyone have any suggestions on where to stay, go, see with two teenage girls?

Counting down in Oklahoma! :cheer2:

In regards to AAA prices: I was quoted $3490.20 USD from Disney for:

6 nights Pop, dining, 9 day MYW + hopper + waterparks
AND
6 nights POFQ, dining, 1 day MYW base ticket (needed at least 1 day for package)
No insurance.

After talking to my AAA representative I was quoted $3222 USD for the same thing...a difference of $268 USD or ~7.5%. This isn't too bad but I got a better discount this past May. I'm going to go ahead and book it but I'll keep checking Disney's website to see if things have dropped. I figure if things drop on the disney site that they'll be cheaper through AAA.

In terms of where to stay with a family: I'm not exactly sure because my wife and I don't have any kids yet but I'd assume that it really depends on your budget. My suggestion would be to stay at a value resort because we found on our first trip (May 2006) that we were only at the hotel to sleep. With 3 kids, especially teenage daughters, you might find that you're in the park from opening to closing. On our last trip we found that we would wake up and be at the parks for their opening, tour until around lunch time, head back to the hotel for a break/swim head to our ADR usually around 4:30 or so and then continue touring until the parks closed. We really found that we needed the afternoon break because we'd be up around 6 a.m. and get to bed around midnight. JMHO.

Oops...I forgot to add that tese prices are for 2 adults...if you guys didn't already figure that out.
