The Many Adventures of...A Family With a New Baby! Jan - Dec 2016! New 11/7!

More updates! This looks like so much fun-- this is one meal I would love to do, as I think the stepsisters are hilarious, but I had a revolt on my hands when I brought it up with the boys. I should go by myself--ha! Aria's dress IS adorable-- I love that she got all that attention for it!

Hahaha I normally enjoy 1900 Park Fare. It's not a must do, but their mashed potatoes are delicious and character interaction is fun. But I don't have any plans to return for a while ;)

Yep, we still had a few days to go. We arrived Saturday the 6th!

I can't believe the water park just...didn't open?!? How weird is that. But like you said, you saved all that money on water park admission, and Aria looks like she had just as much fun at the pool, so that sounds like win to me.

Great way to spend a rest day! Poor Maya looks miserable in that life jacket. lol

Sweet pictures from dinner. I love that the girl all dressed up interacted so well with Aria too.

That's weird about the water park not opening. Just curious if Typhoon Lagoon was not an option at this date - tough seems like you had fun at the pool and boating

Bummer your food wasn't any better. Buffets are probably hard for them to create special things - but too bad there wasn't more options on the actual buffet .... I mean, isn't the point of a bueffet that there are lots of options? :confused3

That young woman really was dressed up - it's nice she spent some time with Aria. I definitely am curious why she was so done up. Maybe just for fun (though I ten to be terrible with celebrities so for all I know she is some huge pop star or something)

headed to breakfast at Kona. This is definitely in my top 3 breakfasts on Disney property

I agree! Kona is wonderful, and there's several dishes on the menu that are really great. I always have to get the Tonga Toast without the sauce since I'm allergic to strawberries, and it's still delicious. I'm really glad to see you were able to fully enjoy your meal without having to compromise due to the allergy situation. Especially since your dinner sounded like a bit of a letdown.

But we got there and were turned away, saying the park MIGHT be open at Noon?!?!?!

That's so strange. Maybe something was wrong mechanically? I've never heard of that before.

Aria kept asking which princess she was. The characters fawned over her and she clearly loved it.

To top off our character night, Aria really wanted to go meet the princess at the other table, so we told her to tell her she liked her dress. She got down on the floor and chatted for a bit, and it ended up being really sweet <3

That was so sweet of Aria. I'm sure the girl loved it. And man, you weren't kidding about her dressing to the 9s. Maybe she was celebrating a quinceanera or a sweet 16? Who knows. Although, if I had skipped out on my prom in high school, I probably would've insisted on doing something like this. Just to be able to get dolled up and eat somewhere nice.

as she slept from 8:15PM - 6:15AM! I think we were up middle of the night making sure she was okay lol.

Wow, that's great! The swimming and boating really wore her out.

Overall, it sounds like it was a fun rest day. Anything involving the pool is always a win for the kids, and it was nice that your DH got to do something he enjoyed.

Okay yeah, so the next day is when the chill set in! We had such crazy weather, between 85 and what, 30? It got cold!

Yeah I know. I looked into it once around 11 just to see, and it was still closed, so we scrapped those plans (esp since we'd have to buy a ticket for a full day).

LOL that life jacket was not fun for her!

It was so sweet of that girl to interact so well with Aria :) I felt really bad when the Step-Mother was sort of making fun of her, not sure if she was thinking it was a joke or not.

Those do nothing days are most needed. The boat ride looked so relaxing.

Yes, so true! It was fun! I love renting boats at WDW, and I'm sure we'll do this again.

It was during that 3? month period where only one water park is open, and the other is down for refurb. I was excited that BB was the one open, since we had so much fun there before, but alas it wasn't meant to be!

There isn't too much generally available at buffets for allergies, IMO, esp when you add in the soy-allergy which thankfully we don't have an issue with anymore. Maya had enough as a newly turned 1-year old to offset her packets of veggies/fruit and give her a little substance, and you know, she's a kid so doesn't crave the flavor and stuff. But for an adult, I would definitely say 100% the signature restaurants get it right and the chefs truly care to take the time to make something delicious.

I really have no idea, I'd thought Quincinera but she looked a little old to be turning 15? They had a basket of gifts too on the table. Def celebrating something.

Yeah the strawberry sauce is definitely not necessary to enjoy Tonga Toast!! I never did hear what happened at Blizzard Beach, I should look for reports to see if anyone actually made it in that day lol!

I had thought about the quinceanera but I felt like she looked older than 15, but maybe not. That's a cute thought about Prom. I'm really not sure, her dress sure was beautiful though!

It was so nice having the time to spend at the pools this trip, with the longer trip we were able to have really great days with some rides/character meets and then lots of pool and relaxing time. Our last trip we didn't leave any pool time although it was a bit too chilly anyway, but I hope to have that time on the next trips.

Love the report. I'm pretty sure the girl at 1900 PF was celebrating her quinceanera. I want my DD to celebrate hers in WDW but she wants the party at home instead! lol

I can't understand the water park not opening :confused3 Must have been an operational issue but I get all out of sorts when my plans get rearranged last minute so I wouldn't have been totally thrown for a loop! Did you ever hear if they opened at all that day?
PF dinner looks so fun! We had it booked last year even though the boys were pretty much against it because I really wanted to meet the stepsisters, I'd heard they're really fun with pre-teen & teen boys. We ended up dropping it b/c we had so many meals, instead I got the boys to reluctantly agree to do their M&G w/ Lady Tremaine in MK. Unfortunately when that time came the sisters were " entertaining at tea" and it was just Lady Tremaine, bit she was great with the boys and we all enjoyed the experience :goodvibes
Oh! And last month at MK we saw a young girl all dressed up like the girl you saw at dinner. Saw her at RD and she was still there ALL dressed up around 5pm lol. My guess was celebrating her Quincinerea, maybe the young lady you saw, too?

I must have been off with guessing her age, she looked so much older to me haha!

I never did figure out why or whether they opened :( But we didn't want to buy a full day ticket and be docked 2 hours (if it opened at noon).

Aw glad at least Lady Tremaine was good! Maybe next time!

On February 4th, we quickly "packed" not worrying about 50-lb bag limits or anything, called up bell services so they could transfer over our goods & keep a bag cool, and then headed over to the MK. We planned to spend the morning there and head out after lunch to the Beach Club where Andrew's parents were going to be. They were flying in this morning and taking the ME. This was a non PPO day for MK, so we got to see the opening show! Maya was dressed as a princess for her first meet of the day.

Despite the crowds, we decided to try for a walking to the castle photo today since we had skipped it on our CP BF on Aria's birthday, then it was super foggy on the BoG BF day. We still had another CP bf coming up but we didn't want to risk another foggy day. It was tough trying to figure out how to show an 8 week (9 or 10 by now I don't even know) old baby.

15578912_10100600475579271_947350385826349792_n.jpg

I think this one was much better, despite Aria's dress clinging to her lol

15589876_10100600475254921_908247245086545093_n.jpg

We had a pre-booked FP for Peter Pan, and had already done A&E, so we actually went straight to Cinderella and Rapunzel. Despite both girls being dressed as Rapunzel, the CM asked us to be sure we weren't trying to meet A&E. I think there isn't really a run on Cinderella & Rapunzel at 9AM - here is proof we were the 2nd ppl there.

We had a couple minutes to spare as the princesses were still getting ready for their day, so naturally took more photos in line. During Aria's first trip at 8 months old, she had the SWEETEST meet with Rapunzel (in this dress Maya is wearing) so I sort of had visions of repeating that except that Maya was so much younger here.

And Just for fun, here are some photos of Aria at 8 Months old!

Soon we were called back and met Cinderella first

Cinderella danced with her and had her twirl

And Maya did well too, wanted to touch her hand

15622628_10100600479057301_3666933075813874321_n.jpg

Then we met Rapunzel who was very chatty with Aria

15578545_10100600480424561_3252645088226466836_n.jpg

And Maya hopped in the photo but didn't seem too impressed

15590160_10100600479915581_3829990854771385597_n.jpg

It was sort of hard to hold a floppy infant in a way that you can see their outfit, so sorry for the awkward photos of her lol.

15590425_10100600480035341_8115569060241826197_n.jpg

We hopped in the 5 minute line for Pooh afterwards and really enjoyed that.

And then the tea cups!

15493344_10100600477215991_5913982405843327894_o.jpg

I don't think Aria had learned she could self-spin yet so that was probably a good thing!

15625751_10100600477734951_32343832695902701_o.jpg

We put Maya down in the car seat and she miraculously fell asleep in it (vs in the carrier!) so I got to hop on Barnstormer with Aria today.

Andrew & Aria rode the Speedway next

15585319_10100600475758911_7343799865719373330_o.jpg

We had one FP for Space, so I went to ride knowing when Maya woke up she would need to eat, and then Andrew rode. While he was riding, Maya woke up and I changed both the girls into something a little more comfy, then I found a bench near where Buzz meets and fed Maya, and soon Andrew finished up riding too.

15665555_10100600475689051_7696429762137396810_n.jpg

Like any good DIS'er, we hopped on the TTA!

15493328_10100600473737961_7163329143193040460_o.jpg

We had 2 FP's for Splash up next, so Andrew and Aria rode that and we grabbed another RS for it.

15585076_10100600477066291_2048853501427074723_o.jpg

Before our next FP, we had a lunch ADR at LTT. I put Maya in the wrap bc she was getting a little fussy and I hoped she'd nap. She fell asleep super fast! Aria enjoyed coloring while we waited for our table.

15578174_10100600478727961_7244541360509811411_o.jpg

Oh the days where I ate like this! They are coming up again soon.

15578152_10100600479236941_3215157410673313001_o.jpg

With the dairy/soy free allergy options, I was able to order the Thanksgiving meal even with the mashed potatoes, and it was really good and flavorful. I think Aria had some of my dish vs ordering something for her.

15590988_10100600477809801_2080640042743487360_o.jpg

Andrew had a burger.

15585175_10100600478822771_3285386255777678922_o.jpg

Maya slept through the whole meal. Andrew had to bring Aria to the bathroom multiple times but I got out of it thanks to not wanting to wake up Maya - I think the 2nd or 3rd time, the waiter said he could use the Handicap stall which was right near us on the 1st floor lol.

Lunch was pretty good, especially for allergy options! We had one more FP to get to before heading out though - meeting Talking Mickey! Aria loves that he talks.

continued in next post!

Usually the FP wait is pretty long here, and this day was no exception.

15622311_10100600477550321_5946885096129292798_n.jpg

I don't really understand the Talking Mickey here, as it seems more like pre-recorded stuff? I'm sure so he actually sounds like Mickey, but his responses always seem awkward? IDK. Aria loves it so that's what matters!

This photo cracks me up

She had had a really good, 2 hour long nap though, and fell back asleep during the walk to BLT to get our car. She did finally wake when I had to put her in the car seat though for our drive to the Beach Club. While we had been at the MK, Andrew's parents had checked into the Beach Club and already unpacked! The room was ready when they arrived around 11.

As soon as we found them, Maya was beyond angry that I hadn't fed her immediately after she woke up, so I went into the bedroom to do that.

continued in next post!

We had a free afternoon at the resort ahead, with dinner at Beaches and Cream. I didn't want to plan too much and Andrew's parents only had 4-day tickets so we didn't plan to go to the park at all. The weather was looking prettyyyyy cold coming up, so despite it only being about 72 degrees we had to utilize the pool as we weren't sure if we would be able to later on (and what's a visit to the Beach Club without the pool!!). By the way, Aria had mentioned that bubble wand about a gazillion times. We hadn't seen it at the MK, but it still showed "limited availability" at the store in the Seas, so while she napped and Andrew hung out with his parents and Maya, I took a 15 minute side trip into EPCOT to see if I could get that wand. I came back empty handed though, as they said they were completely sold out!

After that jaunt and Aria woke up, we went to the pool. We took turns going in as we felt it was just too chilly for Maya to get wet.

15625830_10100600481078251_6720255743873992662_o.jpg

Aria was so excited to have her Grammy and Papa there

15493399_10100600481003401_3319072758886613748_o.jpg

Love the lazy river here

15540647_10100600481083241_1520321319258512684_o.jpg

Aria's favorite part of the pool was the small slide across the sidewalk. This pool was warm compared to the main pool too, so I enjoyed being in there too!

15578825_10100600480998411_8428421346296478654_n.jpg

I decided to forego the big slide because the notches between the pieces of the slide kill my back, but Andrew's dad gave it a shot.

15585247_10100600480918571_4486697951458419746_o.jpg

Then I went to relieve Andrew of his Maya watching duties.

But she had fallen asleep on him and he didn't want her to wake up! IL's decided to call it a day swimming, but Aria wanted some more slide time so we went back over there.

15585114_10100600481153101_6492708237836583801_o.jpg

They hung out on the back walkway area that overlooks both the lake and the pool, and Maya napped while Aria and I hung out in the warm water. Eventually it was time to get out to get showered and ready for dinner!

I don't know where my villa photos ran off to, but we did note how run down the 2-bedroom Beach Club villa seemed after staying at the 1-bedroom BLT villa. I am pretty certain every BCV has been updated though so I am definitely interested in trying it out again. However the location is amazing so I still loved it! This visit, our villa was on the 1st floor (as requested, easier with a stroller not having to deal with elevators) and overlooked the quiet pool. At any rate, I did get a photo of the hallway on our way to dinner hahahah

We arrived a little early for our ADR but then ended up waiting 20 minutes past when it was before I went to check and just as I did, they called us back. As we waited we took photos!

15591398_10100600478009401_160516181384535434_o.jpg

Maya had once again fallen asleep on me. I had fed her before heading out for dinner so she was good to go for a while!

We had a nice booth table which seemed a little tight for 6 but worked out okay.

15626039_10100600475045341_749277224539922360_o.jpg

They had a number of items on their allergy menu, and it turns out they use the Cape May fryers which are dedicated for allergies, so I was able to order French fries and a veggie burger with hot sauce. Everyone else got burgers too, except for Andrew who had a Reuben I believe? I didn't take photos. Sadly, I couldn't enjoy any of their ice cream and no one else is a big dessert fan (besides Aria) so we actually had a whole meal at B&C WITHOUT ice cream. Blasphemy!

Back at the room we relaxed for a bit, but Maya got fussy so I retired to my room while Andrew gingerly kicked his parents out of the living room as Aria needed to go to bed and they were watching sports on the TV and sitting on the couch where her bed was... lol...

15625774_10100600479656101_6795684183485716887_o.jpg

By about 8:20 I finally got Maya to fall asleep and then we all went to bed, although I think IL's stayed up a bit watching tv in their room (they had a studio type set up with a little living area and tv). Maya slept about 8 hours this night and then went back to sleep for another 2, so we did get a pretty good night's sleep.

BTW, the bathroom set up here wasn't as conducive to hiding a crib - we sort of put her in the master closet halfway and halfway into the bathtub area, but that area didn't have a door. Then the shower/toilet were in a separate area that had a door to the main area and a door to our bedroom. Kind of an awkward set up, esp when IL's went to use our bathroom when we were changing or whatnot!! At BLT in the 1 bedroom, there was a full bathroom off of the kitchen area not tied to any room, and then the master bathroom with a door, so it worked out well to hide the crib in there and use the hallway bathroom if needed. Not sure if any of that made sense, but we were definitely missing our really nice and updated BLT room this evening! (And I was missing my privacy).

Coming up next - DHS day with an interesting start!

The girls are so cute in their Rapunzel dresses :) And I love the pictures of Aria when she met Rapunzel as a baby!
We haven't met talking Mickey; when he started talking my boys were pretty much done with their meeting characters phase and I haven't been able to talk either one into it, so I don't waste a FP on him. I am kind of interested in meeting him though, just to hear him talk. Mainly because I think it's a bit creepy! Glad Aria likes it, I'm sure many kids do but as someone who has gone for many years and is used to him NOT talking when you meet, it just seems too weird! And OMG Maya looks terrified in that picture lol, but it's so funny!
As you know we just stayed at BC and I agree, the location is fantastic. Still not my fave resort though. The 2 days Chris was able to get in the pool were the chilliest days we were there and while tried to enjoy the lazy river, every part of my body that was above water was freezing :cold:
I cannot believe you all went to B&C and nobody got ice cream, that's sacrilege lol! However I'm glad you were able to order a good meal with your allergies. We've eaten there a couple times and actually think the food is really good, nice and simple. DH got the Reuben both times :thumbsup2

You are an updating machine! I LOVE the princess meet pics--Aria's face looking up at them is just so gorgeous. And Maya's face So cute! And I cannot believe you were able to get a castle "walk" picture with a teeny baby! Skillz

Your day looks like fun-- you are brave to try toe pool in that weather! I'm crossing everything it's mild enough to swim when we are there in January-- that pool is just so amazing. I booked a last-minute post-fireworks meal at B&C for us-- I'm not sure an 8:30 ice cream dinner is a good idea, but the take-out window just isn't the same as a No Way Jose inside! SUCH a bummer you couldn't partake!

Wow, you have been busy with the updates! I'm glad that your recent trip went well - can't wait to hear all about it! So exciting that you booked a June trip. We are going late April/May, so looks like we will miss each other again. We should still try and plan a MA meetup at some point.

Kona is such a good breakfast! I love dinner there, too, and it's usually a pretty easy reservation to get.

That is strange about the water park not being open, but looks like it worked out for the best. The pontoon boat looks like so much fun. I haven't ever considered doing that, but maybe we will in the future. It's nice that you had such a long vacation and were able to have a few relaxing resort days.

1900 Park Fare looks like fun, but too bad that your meal wasn't good. I think the buffets can be tough for allergies. And yes, those allergy-friendly rolls are the worst. On our cruise they brought them out every night and by the end I couldn't even look at them! My kids liked them, though.

Your pictures of Stormalong Bay are getting me very excited for our spring trip! You are right, BCV has just gotten renovated, so the rooms should be in much better condition now!

Great updates! I can't wait to try and get a picture of my girls in front of the castle next year when they're 2 and 6 months. Hope all is well and you're ready for the holidays!

Thanks!! Yeah he's a bit creepy, and creepier that it's some sort of computer with prerecorded messages. Aria has looked at me a couple times when meeting when he says weird stuff but brushes it off, for now. I mean not weird, but he replies oddly? IDK. Poor Maya was woken up to do that but swiftly fell back asleep thankfully.

Ugh, that was the saddest part of the trip I think - the cold, esp after having the 2 bedroom villa at the beach club. We had another down day coming up where I had hoped to spend the day at the pool but it was just too cold by then.

I know, no ice cream at B&C is really terrible! I was kind of embarrassed no one ordered any!

Well I might do another full day by the end of the week since i'll be off next week and well, I have a lot to write about for 2016. I'm actually really excited to relive the May trip I took with just Aria. Hahahahaha on the castle pic, I felt really bad attempting to make her stand so I picked her up pretty quickly :-D

I hope you're able to swim there on your trip, too, it's such a sad sight to see it empty.

Yep def no late April trip for me, considering baby is due April 27 haha! That is too bad that our trips don't overlap, but a local meet would be fun.

I've never had dinner at Kona, despite all the fun flavors that I love, nothing has really caught my eye? IDK.

At least the kids enjoyed the rolls - Maya prob would too now. She really enjoyed Focaccia bread on our latest trip!

Thank you!! That will be so cute!! <3 I think your ticker in your signature needs updating, I really hope you are not 96 weeks pregnant! hehehe

I also just caught on to the fact that you found out #2 is another sweet little GIRL!! How super exciting. If you can't tell, I love everything about having little girls!

Oh man! I'm on mobile so I can't even see the tickers and forgot I had one from #1! That way too long to be pregnant! I'm due the week before you are and can't wait to have another little girl. They're just so much fun!

Looks like a fun day - I love Cinderella dancing with Aria

I am pretty sure the Talking Mickey is set up that he has a number of sayings recorded and then a CM picks which one to use that is most appropriate - but obviously that can't cover all situations

I think it is a neat idea but also can lead to questions as to why this is the only Mickey that talks (other than in shows) and then why does Minnie or whomever not talk when we meet them?

Glad you did get in some pool time then - the pool and proximity to EPCOT I think are the best parts of Beach / Yacht Club

Wow, they must have looked at you all a bit funny when you didn't order ice cream at B&C! ;)

Sorry for the awkward set up for the crib - hope it wasn't too bad
