~The Man Report ~ ~ Mermaid Chick & the Puke Cleaner ~
Approaching the Mermaid Show, after obtaining my fast passes for Rockin’ Roller Coaster, I glance at my watch: 9:10 a.m. Perfect!
The Mermaid show starts at 9:15 and is the first showing of the day. MB secretly loves this show. Secretly, so do I.
Of course it might be the sappiest thing I’ve ever seen… and the show only “loosely” follows the actual story line… but still, it’s cute… and the Mermaid chick is Hot!
LG always sits up on her knees and doesn’t move or blink during the entire show. She’s all about the princesses these days.
As I wandered through the queue outside the pre-show area, I notice three Cast Members standing in a circle and staring down at a pile of puke on the ground. None were talking. They seem to be perplexed. As I walked past to enter the show, I asked
“So which one of you guys yacked that up?” They all looked at me, then explained they had just wandered onto this mess and didn’t know how it got there.
I took a quick moment to explain that it probably came up from the stomach, through the esophagus, and out the mouth. Once again, they stared at me in silence.
Apparently, cleaning up the mess was not in their job descriptions. The “Puke Cleaner” had been radioed and was in transit. Eventually, it would be cleaned.
The show was lovely. MB got up in front of the crowd prior to the show starting and hollered “Welcome, ladies & gentlemen”! Not sure what that was all about.
I got us up close (first row with only 4 seats). I thought I was being smart. I wasn’t.
The first row is not a wise choice. You can’t see the back of the stage but you
can see the guys in black working the puppets.

The only gud thing was the ability to get some decent pictures of the luscious Mermaid-Chick.
The part where they rip off her
fins to reveal her legs is the best part of the show for me. I often dream that her top is mistakenly attached to her fins and a lot more is revealed than just her legs.
A man can dream can’t he!?!
After the show, we bolted over to the Star Tours attraction and walked right on. The best part of this ride is the queue. I love all the robots, parts, space ships and general Star Wars paraphenalia. It’s cool!
The ride is just…
EH, if you know what I mean. The kids love it, so we ride every time. The annoying part is the store you must navigate to exit. It’s always total chaos with various light saber duels occurring throughout the cramped little store.
It was now time to head back to Rockin’ Roller Coaster and use our Fast Passes. LG wasn’t interested so the plan was for MB & I to ride it twice while LtP & LG waited for us. Maybe LtP would finally use the bathroom. It’s been 3 days!!!
As we waited in line, MB became agitated. There were only a few people ahead of us in the Fast Past line so I’m not sure what he’s upset about.
When it comes to my little MB, I’m very serious. No joking or kidding around. It takes all my effort and concentration to read his emotions and actions and try to interpret exactly what’s going on. It’s a lot easier for LtP, but she’s not with us. Even LG understands him better than I do.
As we listen to the pre-show with Steven Tyler & the boys, he’s starting to look really upset… like he’s going to cry.
The doors open and we enter the area where the coaster loading takes place. At this point I know he doesn’t want to ride. He’s been on this roller coaster at least 10 times in the past but now he’s afraid. The communication gap doesn’t allow me to talk him into it. We use the chicken exit and head outside. Hopefully, we’ll be able to locate LtP & LG. LtP left her cell phone in Billings!
Ip-Dip!
We have no issues locating them exactly where we left them and I explain that MB was afraid to go on RRC. I know in my heart that a couple more hours of “Stacy” back in the hotel room will change his mind. We’re due to come back to MGM one more time so maybe we can get him to ride it then.
Finally, we decide to traverse the park once again, and test out the “new” Muppet Vision 3D… a family favorite! But first, a little stop at the Tug Boat restaurant on the lake. Daddy needs a beer!!!
Next Up: ! Nazgul ! at Budokan: Broken Guitar Strings & the Death Drain
I locate these Rubes in the waiting area of the Hot-Chick-Mermaid Show.
The Star Tours queue is one of the best!
From the RRC queue, I snap this shot of ToT. Aren’t I gud?
As much as I’ve ridden RRC, this is the first time I noticed this sign.
