There was also barf inside the Little Mermaid queue area. Thats actually why we went towards the back. I wanted to get far away from it. Someone came out and sprinkled that saw dust looking stuff on it, but no one came to clean it up. I didnt mention it before because it was gross, but now the conversation seems to have gone that way.
Well, Buzz is wrong. It was 4 days since I went to the bathroom. The boys headed to RRC and Loud Girl & I headed to the bathroom. It, uh, took awhile.

I had LG stand in front of the door so I could see her shoes. After last year, I dont let her in the stall with me anymore. When we were done, we headed into a store to just look around. $80 later, I felt someone grabbing my butt. I spun around, ready to knock someone out. There was Buzz. I shouldve known, but honestly, they were back so fast I didnt expect to see them that soon. I found out Trey wouldnt ride RRC.
I immediately started in on a plan to get him on it. He barely rode it with me last spring. He was trying to cover his ears and hang onto the restraining bars at the same time and a CM was asking him if he was ok. Its always interesting when someone tries to talk to Trey. He wasnt responding and it took me a minute to figure out the guy was even talking to Trey so I said, Yeah, hes fine.
CM- But hes not talking.
Me-Yeah, he does that. Hes ok.
CM to Trey-Buddy are you ok?
Me-Yeah, hes handicapped
At this point the people in front of me tried to turn around and see us. Im sure they were thinking What kind of a witch forces her handicapped son to go on this ride?
That did seem to satisfy the CM though and off we went. Now I prefer to use the word disabled or disability. People First Language. Im a stickler. But I felt the moment called for me to use the H word. I needed something to cause an impact so we could get moving. It seemed to work.
This fall, I thought maybe Trey would do better riding with Buzz. He did worse. Its not Buzzs fault. Hes very good with Trey. Better than he realizes, actually. He just gets nervous and tends to get flustered if the communication breaks down. Trey did ride the ride later, but well talk about that later. Its actually pretty funny. LeeAndra wanted to go on it too so my tactic was to continually talk about how fun RRC is and how his little 5 year old sister was going to go on it. Now, it wasnt really shaming him into it because he didnt really understand the concept, but since LA was going on it, well, he got brave. More to come later
.
I never saw the guys in black at the Little Mermaid show! I love that show too. It always chokes me up when her dad says how much hell miss her. Gut wrenching. I really have to try hard not to start out and out bawling at that part.
I know why Trey stood up and welcomed everyone to the show. Now, I know Trey better than anyone and sometimes I just know instinctively whats going on with him. Other times I dont have a clue, but this time I did. It was taking a long time for the show to start and he was getting impatient so he figured if he got up and did that, it would start. It was a super cute moment for us. Not sure anyone else thought so, but my heart melted when he did that. LA cracked up laughing. She still talks about that too. She was bringing it up the other day.
One time at Muppets a few years ago we were leaving the show and this lady sitting next to Trey stopped me and said, Ive seen this show 20 times or more and Ive never enjoyed it as much as I did this time. I just loved watching your son watch the show. I hadnt noticed what he was doing, because I was watching the show, but I guess he was pretty amusing to this nice lady.
And thats my version of events as I know it. Otherwise known as the Truth.
Goof-LA loves your Snow Meiser guy. She got so excited when she saw it and shouted in my ear, Thats the guy from Rudolph. She saw that show for the first time this year. And its really cute how she pronounces Rudolph. She really pronounces the L in it. Its not Rudoph. Its RudoLLLph. Thats such a great show.
