That trooper story-funny!! It wasn't Buzz. It sounds more like his brother.

I am the Ruler of Guitar Hero!! Buzz had to admit it tonight. I ROCK!! Buzz, not so much... He's good, but not as gud as me. And he's played it way more than I have already. Just think if I played it non stop like him. I'd really kick his butt then.

I do have to lighten up on the guy though. He gave me one helluva 40th birthday present today! (New car!!!) Gotta love it. I mean gotta love him. And it's not even my birthday yet!!

GHIII rocks. I have to leave it in the box Mon-Frid, otherwise I would never get enough sleep to go to work. I am teaching my 4yr old to rock with it. He holds down the green key while I jam on the others.

It's January 30. What a big day that'll be. I'll probably start off with some coffee. Put my kids on the bus for school. Crochet all day. Maybe squeeze in a nap. Finish up the day with Buzz getting a nice dinner somewhere and a nice bottle of wine. The real celebration will occur on another day.

My mom's birthday is Jan 28. My grandma's (deceased 6/24/06) was Jan 29. Mine is Jan 30;. So we all celebrated together. Now it's just my mom and me celebrating, but we still get together and get a cake and stuff. It's my preferred way to spend any birthday-with my family. My real wish is to spend it like we used to-with my dad, grandma and everyone partying, but Dad & Grandma are gone now so that's impossible. I have a really awesome family-they're quirky as heck and goofy as all get out, but very loveable and nutty.

It's hard to believe I'm 40. Sometimes something will happen and I'll think, "Oh, that was 20 years ago" or whatever and then I think, "20 years ago!!! I"m that old????" Let alone 40!! I was always really immature and didn't act my age, then my dad died and I aged about 3 decades overnight. I think it was b/c he always treated me like a little girl so I responded that way-and it was fun. I loved being a little girl. I'm not really anymore. Haven't been for a long time. I definitely feel 40. Yes I sure do. But it's good too. I've gained a lot in 40 years. Even though I didn't want to, I grew up.

I like the line in Blue's siggie-Don't be sad because it's over, be happy because it happened. I think about that a lot and whenever I get down because things aren't like they used to be, I remember that line and am very happy to have had the things I had. I've got many blessings and have a very rich life. I am fortunate and I know it. And that's about all the deep thoughts I have for tonight.

What was the question again? When is my birthday? January 30. Born at 7:04 pm in a horrid winter storm. My mom didn't think she'd go into labor that night so she ate a hamburger and once labor hit, she started throwing up. Several hours later, she had a baby Linnie. I think I was worth it.

Great birthday stories Linnie, especially about your Dad treating you like a kid,, I know what you mean about the years going by. I turned 40 in October. The only thing I wanted was a WDW trip. so we went in Sept for free dining,,i wore the birthday button the whole time! got free cupcakes, I set up a diver at Coral Reef with a happy birthday sign!
