Great EE pics! We don't do petting zoos anymore after I got ringworm from some random goat or llama that brushed up against my leg! EWWW! (Not at Disney, but at a zoo). I'm sure the Disney goats are fungus free!

Went with my friend to the vet's, her dog was really sick.
I ended up with ringworm. For 5 months!!!!

If you're trying to milk this one to make yourself some cheese, you're going about it all wrong..... ;)

this looks like a fun report, subbing. But bedtime for tonight ZZZZZZZZZZ!

Picture Time #1

WDW2007-005.JPG

We take over an area of the airport. Loud Boy peruses a Food Catalog. :sad2:

WDW2007-007.JPG

Hoo boy. And you all think I’m a little strange! :confused3

Hey, what's wrong with the SCHWAN"S catalog? HMMM?... (shameless plug time) I work for them :rotfl2: Have to start at a young age. If they can't or don't know how to cook, they need to know about us. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Buzz, did you deep fry the goat later that night?

Sadly, no. :sad2:

I'll let you in on little secret. Yes, we did bring the fry daddy with us. No, we never used it. Our intentions were good. We just never had a single meal in our room. All we ate were some late afternoon snacks or some squeeze cheese before bed.

We also never used the printer we hauled all the way down. Too bad. If we had, we would have found LtP's cell phone that she had tucked in the box. :headache:

Next year, they both stay home.

The pics from EE are awesome! So awesome in fact, that I will never go on that ride.

Chicken! :rotfl2: Actually, this ride is pretty wicked. It's still not as crazy as Rockin R.C. but it's pretty close.

Brushing those goats was one of DGS's favorite things at AK. He would have stayed there for hours

Both kids really liked the petting zoo. We didn't even know it existed until this trip. :confused3

I can't believe I stayed up this late reading your TR from the start, either it was really good or I've gotta get a life!

I'm betting you need a life. :lmao:

J/K. I hope you used the fancy little HotLinks that blue taught me to make. I spend so much time making them that I hope they get used.

Welcome to the thread. :)

I knew as she took this picture that it was going on the DIS and what the caption would read. :rolleyes1

I was a little worried about that but the kids really wanted to try this.

That sux! Was it on your leg? Did it itch?

LtP can burn water trying to boil it. Schwan's was our only hope for survival. :sad2:

That petting zoo was neat. Funny thing-they have a great big sink to wash in and everyone goes to it right away. The CM tells everyone you need to wash after you go in, not before. It's like a magnet attracting people as they enter. :confused3

So we petted the goats and I'm remembering how kids have gotten sick and died from petting zoos. I look over and here's Moan Boy with a finger jammed in his mouth right after petting the animals. :scared1: I tell him to get his finger out of his mouth and am visualizing all sorts of horrible things going on with his system now. But in the end, it turned out ok. It's been about 2 weeks since we were there and he hasn't shown any signs of e coli or anything. I'm a bit of a germophobe so that was a horrible moment for me seeing his finger in his mouth like that.

Gack, I'm getting the heebiejeebie's just thinking about petting zoos. GERMS!

Just reading that makes me want to swish with Listerine  Linda

Wonderful pictures especially the EE ones, we won't ever ride that so thanks for the view.

Great goat pics, we had a goat that went right for Bill's wheelchair, he loved it. He saw the chair and went running right for us.

We know you are not a goat Linnie, you are so much nicer to Buzz than I would be if he made that comment about me .:lmao:
My DD won't go in the petting zoo areas any more because the goats loved her wheelchair tires. Where ever she went, the goats followed and latched onto her tires. So, if she sees a petting area with goats, she's off in the other direction.

Yea Buzz, the ringworm itched once in awhile.
I would get an area cleared up, then get a new breakout.
It was confined to my legs. No shorts all summer, that's hard to do here in Vegas :sad2:

I guess the real question is: Can you scrape it off your skin and give it a "dip" in the fry daddy? :lmao:

Mine was on my leg, too, but thankfully stayed exactly the size of a round Band-Aid. Those sinks to wash at are great, but who thinks to climb in and wash their legs, too?:rotfl2: Of course, I'm so crazy, I had no problem plopping DD6 on the camel for a ride at the same zoo (different trip, though).

Yeah. Looking back, I don't think our family "Goat-Pooh" fight was such a good idea.

Live and learn. :confused3

~ The Man Report ~ ~ Virgin Duck Liver & Meal Sweat ~

We love dinner.

More than most even. ::yes::

The best part of dinner is everyone getting together, relaxing, and enjoying a lovely Disney meal… …with wine of course! :thumbsup2

I have ADR’s for every single night we’re in WDW except this first night when we arrive, and one night when I plan to take the family to ESPN Sports Zone for dinner (they don’t take ADR’s).

Dining Schedule

We have but a single problem with dinner: Moan Boy. :sad2:

He never wants to go! His idea of a good evening is to stay in the resort room and send dad out to get Giordano’s pizza or McDonald’s. :confused3

Sheesh!! We drag his butt out with us anyway. Builds character. :cool2:

Now, in October, there is no FREE dining like most of you received in September. There’s also no 400 mile an hour winds and torrential rainfall.

As an annual passholder, we’re allowed to join the Disney Dining Experience ($60/year) which gives us 20% off food & drink at most Disney restaurants plus half price admission at Pleasure Island.

20% is a huge amount! Especially when you order a bottle of wine every night at dinner.

Our DDE membership ended up saving us close to $400 at Disney Dining establishments.

That’s a heap of snap by any measure!

Now, before you do the math (put your calculator away blue :sad2: ) yes, we spent close to $2,000 on food, wine, beer, and other non-alcoholic beverages. I know, I know. That’s too much money. :headache:

But remember, our airline tickets were free, my rental car is free and 7 nights in our DVC resort are already pre-paid for 50 years.

So when you think about it, those three items essentially save us around $4,500 so we’re allowed to splurge a little, aren’t we?

Besides, we’re down here for almost two weeks!

Come on troops, agree with me here. :thumbsup2

Anyway, back to dinner.

Our first night down (Sunday, Oct 7), after we settle into our Cypress room, we decide to go shopping and forage for food.

Without an ADR, we’re forced to choose an off-site restaurant for our first meal.

One of the few places that sounded good to me was the Clakshin Indian Food Restaurant located next to TGI Friday’s in the Crossroads Shopping area.

WDW2007-016.JPG

Now, before you turn on me, hear me out.

Where else can you go and eat while sitting on the floor? Everyone likes to eat with their hands, right? And of course, the Clakshin all-U-can eat dried llama & curry platter is fabled to be one of the best in the country!

It’s also a lot of fun to sweat while you eat. ::yes:: The way I see it, if you’re not sweating during your delicious meal, then it’s obviously lacking spice.

I put Tabasco on pizza. I put pepper on popcorn (when not on the meat diet). I even purchase the spicy pork rinds and sprinkle Cholula Sauce on each individual piece.

Buzz likes his food spicy.

As you can probably guess, I was voted down on the Clakshun Fine Indian Cuisine even though I was VERY excited about it.

They just weren’t interested in my “Cultural Experience” argument. :sad1:

TGI Friday’s received the nod. Loud Girl was demanding Mac-n-Cheese and wasn’t interested in spicy goat meat sautéed in virgin duck liver.

Here’s the thing about Friday’s. You get a consistent meal each and every time you go. No matter where you’re at!

Even the service is fairly good. Not Disney-Good mind you, but fairly good.

Plus, they’ve got gobs and gobs of sweet, delicious meat. :yay:

When all you get to eat is the meat, you need as much as possible to fill your belly. I don’t get to eat the bread before the meal… or the garlic mashed potatoes… or the delicious garlic & buttered green beans.

I get the meat and I need a big hunk of it. The bigger the better.

So I order me up a delectable little 16 oz. Rib Eye and begin to smack and chomp away at it while occasionally taking a breather to slurp down some wine. Think hogs at the trough and you’re not far off. (Hey, I even rhyme!)

Loud Girl pipes up, “Daddy, I wanna bite”.

Hoo boy. :sad2:

There’s barely enough for me yet here my little baby girl wants a bite and I can rarely tell her “No” to anything.

“Ok Baby”, I reply as I whack a non-fatty chunk off for her.

“mmmm, This is good!”.

Oh no! She wants more! What am I going to do? LtP, the human garbage disposal, has already finished her 30 oz. Porterhouse buried in horseradish, so the meat my baby wants is going to have to come from my plate!

As I ponder my predicament, I feel the heat of laser beams coming out of my significant other’s eyes. Apparently, I’m not responding fast enough to her child’s request.

After my short pause and subsequent non-verbal encouragement from the wife, I determine to give up some more of my precious meat to the youngest member of the clan.

I can suffer. I know darn well there’s a bunch of pork rinds and squeeze cheese back in the room. I can always go fill up on that.

Loud Girl finishes my steak for me, and her mac-n-cheese, and some of her brothers chicken strips and fries (must take after her mother), we pay the bill and shag out for Cypress.

Everyone’s completely satisfied, except me. :sad2:

Next Up – Locnar: Magical Sphere or Doom to the Universe?

Tabasco, Tapatio, Chalula, salsa, red pepper flakes, pepper all good.

I wish I was more of a wine lover. I'd settle for wine liker...just like my beer and vodka too much.

Buzz, you're on a protein diet and your drinking wine?
I thought wine has carbs, and lots of them.

I would have voted for the indian food too. Yum!
