The mall was empty today

It was busy. But not as busy as usually be before the weekend before Christmas. I know I used work at Best Buy and this not holiday day traffic. It was normal Saturday to me.

DH took medicine to DD, who works at the local mall. He said it was busier than WDW in June.

Another snowbond Marylander here. We know it was coming & we knew it would be bad. I have my family, enough food to last a week and electricity (for now). I am actually appreciating being forced to stay home. If it weren't for the snow I'd be piling on more Christmas presents. I have bought for everyone I need to. I might have gotten my boys a couple of more things but they have plenty so I'm just chilling.
I have got to get those Christmas cards addressed.

We live outside Dc in N.VA and my back porch has over two feet of snow and it is still coming down. I don't think any store is that important that people have to risk their lives so someone can buy more presents. That said it did not start till about 8PM on Friday. All the stores. malls, and grocery stores were packed tight and alot of traffic was a maximum capacity with people trying to beat the storm by shopping late last nite. It is so cold out not many kids were sledding or playing in the snow. Kids had school Monday and Tuesday before their break and it is already announced that the schools will be closed.

I know that Fairfax County school activities are cancelled for today and tomorrow, but no word on Monday yet. I do think school will be canceled, it will probably take a day to dig all the buses out and to clear off all the sidewalks & parking lots around the schools.

agnes!

DH and I headed out early this morning. I wanted to try to beat the crowds if we could. It was ok, not too crazy. Went to Old Navy (cozy socks for $1 woo hoo!) and then to Build a Bear which was a little nuts. We were in line there to get a bear stuffed for over a half hour and then another 15 minutes to pay. We left after that and the parking lot was jammed! We saw 2 accidents on the way home. No snow here which is shocking for this time of year. I'm surprised that we are not getting the storm. DH wishes we were - he loves the snow. Crazy man :lmao:

I'm not buying a 4 wheel drive either. Front wheel drive is good enough for me. If it gets that bad, we should be at home anyway. Someone posted that there were 4000 accidents in VA alone from this storm. That screams to me that it's just not worth going out in.

I completely agree, it's not worth it, it's just one day.

Nah it was INSANE today!!!!

I was so glad to get out of there.
