Thanks for all the mascara suggestions!!! I think I will try the Lash Injection. I spend more time on my eyes in the morning than anything........

KimR........is the Latisse the treatment that was just approved for use to make eyelashes grow? The one I am talking about was used originally for glaucoma patients......is that it? I WISH I could use that!!! I need some length to my lashes but I've read that it can change your eye color if you have light eyes........but I'm thinking maybe that is for the glaucoma patients who put it directly into their eyes. My Dad just started using the glaucoma drops and he has blue eyes and I hate to see them change but it is necessary for him to keep his eyesight!! I did tell him that he is probably going to have really nice lashes though!! I have really green eyes and want them to stay that way. Have you heard anything about this?

Have any of you tried the palettes from www.coastalscents.com ?They are very reasonably priced. I absolutely love the ones I have. Alot of the youtubers use them and they were highly recommended. They are VERY pigmented. They also have different sizes of empty palettes that you can pick your own colors to fill them and change them out as you like. So far I've only gotten the eyeshadow palettes but I want to try their lip palettes also. They also have these really neat brush guard things that are kind of made out of mesh and slip over your brushes like a sleeve and you can use them when you travel to keep your brushes in shape and also to keep them in shape while drying after you clean them. They have all different sizes. I am going to order some of those in a couple of days.

I'll check back in later!!

Hi! I meant to welcome you to our thread. Yes. Latisse is the new FDA approved lash grower. I want to try it bad. I told everyone here earlier in the thread that I was assisting in a face lift/brow lift surgery (so we were looking at her face for hours) and she was using Latisse for glaucoma and she had incredible eyelashes! Her lower lashes were longer than my upper ones! I was impressesd.

Thanks for the welcome!!

Have you heard anything about the eye color change side effect??? I know it is not a big deal if you are using it for glaucoma, but I don't know if I want to chance changing my eyes to brown just to get longer lashes.....

Wow........lower lashes were THAT long???? That sounds really amazing!!! Maybe if you are really careful and just put it on the lash line without getting it INTO the eyes it may not cause the color change.....hmmmmmmmmmm

It does say something about eye color change in the pamphlet they gave me. I have dark brown eyes so it's not a concern for me, but if my eyes were lighter it would definitely be something I'd ask my Dr. about first.

Miss Park Ave ~ That's so exciting!!! I hope I get to have an adults only trip some day! I used my mineral foundation last July when I was there and it was much better than liquid foundation I have had there in the past. I pretty much do all of my makeup the same as usual and I don't have any trouble with anything.

In France there is a perfume store I think. Cat should chime in here, she's the perfume girl! But my favorite thing to do in France is wander through the wine store looking at wine accessories and drinking wine of course! The wine samples inside the stores are a little bit less expensive than the ones out on the walkway. Go inside!!!

I"ve been avoiding this thread up until now... because i'm absolutely addicted to Make up! I can't get enough...

I love to try new products.. My gf's refer to me as a walking cosmectic counter. :lmao:

Hey Rachael! :wave2:

Are any of y'all youtube makeup tutorial watchers? I have two people that I watch faithfully and I have used several of their looks and have gotten compliments on my eye makeup several times!! They are panacea81, who is really Lauren Luke and she is in the UK and the other is a precious girl who is emilynoel83 on youtube and she is a newscaster I think from Illinois but I could be wrong on that. They are so much fun to watch. Emily especially does alot of product review videos that have helped me tremendously. Beware though.......watching them is addictive!!!

I'm addicted to makeup related youtube videos. I love panacea81's videos, she's so adorable. I have a bunch of others on my subscription list, I just can't remember all the names.

About a week ago I got a Clarisonic Facial Cleanser. I had been wanting one for a LONG time and finally got one. I am REALLY pleased with it. The texture of my skin is awesome right now. I really didn't have large pores to begin with but I am 52 and I had a couple of brown spots on one side near my jawline and they have really faded alot. I use alot of Dr. Denese products from QVC and I'm not sure if it is the Clarisonic alone or the fact that it is helping these products to work better on my skin, but I am very happy with the Clarisonic purchase!!!!

I'm so, so, so jealous. I want a Clarisonic badly, but can't really afford to drop the money on it at the moment. I'm glad it is working so great for you.

I have the blush/contour palette from CS and it is fantastic. The blushes are huge and very much worth the money I spent (which was only about $25, it was a total steal.)

Which eyeshadow palettes do you have? I'm looking to get one because I have heard such great reviews on youtube, but I have no idea which to get.

Miss Park ~

Yes, there is a perfume store, and a Guerlain store in France. I loooove the KissKiss lipstick Guerlain makes. I have two of those. I also love their "Night Fever" eyeshadow. Super fun color. Check it out.

I think my next trip, I'm going to pick up those little powder beads. I love playing with those, with I'm in there.

Italy also has a really nice perfume selection, as well.

UK used to have a nice one - but I was unimpressed in February. No Burberry. :guilty:

France used to have a L'Occitane store (where they now do Beauty & Beast meet and greets - with stained glass windows) I loooooooved that store. LOVED IT! And *poof* one year it was gone. :guilty:

Thanks CR. I'm at that point in time where anything I am considering purchasing is something I will need for vacation (like the bathing suites). Every time I pick up a piece of makeup at the store I tell myself that I can save this money for something fun in Florida.

So, tell me about Guerlain? Is that the makeup line with the meteorite beads? I heard that was wonderful. I love the brush with the pink hair that goes with it. I saw it on Nordstrom.com, that may have to come home with me. I could justify that purchase if I stay away from the makeup stores up until the trip.

Hi again. This thread has gotten so long that I couldn't keep up, so I don't know if this has been asked:

Does anyone know if there is a certain ingredient I should avoid when choosing a foundation so it doesn't cause a break-out? It seems like some foundations cause me to get a few pimples or boils here and there (mostly around my chin or hairline), and other's don't. I only get a couple/few a month, so it's not a huge problem, but when I get a boil---I really hate them. Bare Minerals was great---I didn't have any problems with that, but I really don't like it a whole lot. I prefer a liquid foundation. The poweder ones don't seem to cover as well (for me), and sometimes accentuate my crows feet and even little fine hairs on my face. I've been experimenting, but haven't found one I really love that evens out my skin tone well, yet doesn't clog my pores (or whatever it is doing to me).

So, I was wondering if it's a certain ingredient I need to look for or avoid?
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

What do you guys know about RCMA make up? I saw it on a couple of the You Tube videos. It is professional make up but I really would like to try it. It is so hard to tell the color matchs on line.

I have the 78 piece pallette.....it has some matte shadows, some shimmer shadows and 6 blushes. I didn't think I would use the blushes but there are a couple that I use alot. I have to say I use this pallette every single day.....I LOVE it. I also have the 42 Double Stack Matte Shadows and Blushes. This one is great also and I use it alot. I want to get the Lip Pallette and also the Ultra Shimmer 88 Eyeshadow Pallette. You would think that the little pots (which are maybe a little larger than dime size) wouldn't last long but there is really alot of product in them. They shipped to me really quickly and they package everything very carefully with lots of packing material. I can't say enough good things about them!!!! There is a 120 pallette out there on ebay that some of the youtubers use but it comes from outside the USA and I'm a little leary about that. Emilynoel93 on youtube looked extensively into (guess it's the newscaster in her) the Coastal Scents products and they are made in the USA.

Hope everyone has a great day..........so far it is a pretty day her in NOLA, but we have been having some showers every afternoon........but my lawn really could use it!!!!

Later,
Patti

.

Hi :wave2:

I can honestly say i've never seen any makeup related youtube videos.. but I'm gonna search some tonight when i get home.

whats a Clarisonic?

I haven't read here or posted in quite awhile. It was getting too expensive for me!

I am looking for new shadows. I have green eyes (golden brown around the pupil then get greener toward the outside of my iris, which is an emerald green color). I prefer browns, but instead of the chocolate tones I wear in winter I'm looking for gold/copper/bronze colors. I'm open to apricot colors too. Just nothing too dark and NO purples or plums. That's what everyone suggests for me and I have plenty. Plus I'm really sick of the color.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I hit Sephora this weekend? I did ask the lady at Sephora for suggestions a few months ago and when I said no purples her face went blank.

I've been reading backwards the past few days trying to catch up on everything I missed. I know I missed the whole Monistat conversation. I have to see what that's all about :teeth:

Raecheal........the Clarisonic is a facial cleansing brush made by the company that makes the Sonicare toothbrushes. It doesn't spin, it oscillates. I have had great results with it so far. It has really changed my skin texture and my products seem to work better now. It is kinda pricey at $195 but I asked for it for my anniversary present and I got it!!! Sephora has them and you can read lots of reviews there.

For the youtube videos....... panacea81 is very popular and my other fav is emilynoel83......you can search on their names to see theirs but just put in makeup tutorial or be specific with eye makeup tutorial or whatever. I've realized that anything you want to know about anything......someone has probably made a youtube video for it. I always look their for product review videos also. Have fun!!!

Hi from the NOLA area!!!!!!!! What kind of shadows do you use.........I have alot of BE shadows and I have lots of greens, browns, coppers........I can look when I get home this evening and post some of the names. I also have green eyes although I don't use purples that much. I do have a great BE purple called Bordeaux that I really love....it's kind of a midnight purple......There is also a great green called Gracious that is my fav. green.....There was a green called Peacock that I really loved but it was only available in a kit and I used it all up and now I can't get anymore.....but....I digress......I know you said browns.......My sister complimented me on my eye makeup the other night for the very first time.....and it was a look from one of emilynoel83's youtube videos.....it used a creamy color on the lid, a kind of dark taupe in the crease and up a little onto the upper lid and then a little black in the very crease with a tiny crease brush and kind of in the corner.....and a little more of the creamy color as a highlighter on the browbone.......I never thought I would use the black in my palette but I've been using it alot just to define the crease area a little more......I've used it over lots of crease colors........wow........I gave you way more than you wanted to know probably.........:rolleyes1

I never heard of it, nor can I find it online. Where do you buy it? I guess you will have to be our tester! :cheer2:

Thanks for the information! I want the ultra shimmer 88 palette the most, the colors are so intense and pretty. The 28 piece neutral palette looks nice too. Have you tried any of the brushes they sell or the gel liner? I'm a huge fan of MAC's fluidline and I am curious as to how CS's gel liner would compare. Have you seen the new lipglosses they sell? The swatches I have seen are absolutely gorgeous. I'm so tempted to buy the whole 21 piece set (it's only $90 )

I'm not too far from you (Baton Rouge) and it is SO hot and humid, I'm melting like the wicked witch of the west. Yuck.:scared:

I am loving a new shadow trio that I got recently. It is the Lorac baked shadow trio. I have the starlet, which is purple shades.

But they also have one in bronze shades.

On a different note, does anyone here have any of the Philosophy scents? I just got the travel size Amazing Grace to try. I think I like it! I feel it is a very clean light scent. Does anyone have any of the other ones?

Calling all curly girls!!!

I know we had a conversation about this before, but I was just about to leave for vacation and I didn't have time to read. I'm naturally curly and I have product issues! I tend to do well with a product for a while and then I seem to get frizzy and I have to change it up. I'm getting that frizz going right now and ready for a change. Please share your curly girl product favorites!

You shouldn't start...they are addicting! xsparkage is one of my favorites. She's adorable and really fun to watch. I'll post a few links to my favorites when I get home.

A Clarisonic is an amazing face brush that I wish I owned

I can related with being sick of purples. Every place wants to saddle me with purple shadows because my eyes are green, but I like a bit more variety.

I personally love MAC's Bronze, Soba, Patina and Woodwinked. Those are all some of my staple colors.

I wish I could help you, but my hair is a frizzy, curly, mess too. My hair seems to just soak up all the moisture in the air. :scared:

I have been wanting to try a few products from Lush that are supposed to be fantastic for curly, frizzy hair.
