Hold strong Bella, hold strong! :lmao: Oh, who am I kidding, like I can resist makeup. :rolleyes1 How much is shipping? Please tell me it is really, really expensive and would defeat the purpose of a sale and I'd be better off to wait. :scared:

Shipping is not that bad it is like 6.oo I think. I always buy enough to justify it.LOL

Love this thread. Thank you for starting it. I am just getting back into makeup (thanks to my baby cousin) and hair and I am loving it.

Skincare:

Washing face morning and evening with Clinique #3 bar soap and apply Clinique Dramatically Difference Moisturizing Lotion (morning only)

Swab with clarifying toner when I can remember or when I am in the mood

Face scrub every Friday evening

trying to drink more water, fresh juices, veggies and fruits

Makeup

eyes - Bare Escentuals eyeshadow - I only have two but am committing to buying two every month. Loreal Telescopic mascara (IMO, I think Loreal makes the best mascaras) and Cover girl eyeliner (the ones with the sponge tip at one end)

no blush - I break out for some reason but I'm thinking about trying again. Haven't worn any since 2000!

mouth - right now I am into Avon lip colors, glosses, glazewears, etc, as I get a generous discount :)

Eventually I will get back into foundation and press powder - due to financial issues, they are currently extreme luxuries

As I am African-american, my haircare is different!

I try to have a mani/pedi every two to three weeks depending on finances!

After reading these posts I have to make a beauty list! Fun, fun, fun!

Tis all for now!

Ok ladies what are we supp. to do with the milk of magnesia? I went out and bought a bottle of it today (they only had cherry hope that dont make a difference). Had it on my list not sure what to do with it though or why I bought it can anyone help? I cant go thru the whole thread again took me 3 days to get thru it the first time :rotfl2:
Also I am glad my hubby doesnt look at the acct or credit cards cause I went on a little shopping spree yesterday with hair products, mac makeup, some too faced concealer (not sure what that is either its green what do you use that for?) I need to take back some plumper from Ulta cause it sucks :) I thought I wrote down good notes but I guess I didnt!
Thanks for anyone who can help!!
Oh yeah and my facebook page now states with proudness I LOVE MONISTAT AND I SLATHER IT ALL OVER MY FACE!

Ladies, I need a recommendation for eyeshadow primer. I used to use Lancome and I loved it, but after a while I developed a mild allergy or some kind of sensitivity to it. Switched to Urban Decay and that worked better, but still I find it makes my eyes a bit dry and flaky. Tried Two-Faced this past weekend and that is the worst - I'm definitely allergic to that one. Monistat gives me no problems but I don't really find it that effective for eyeshadow primer. Can anyone with sensitive skin help me out here?

I have very sensitive skin too. I use Mary Kay's eye primer and love it! It doesn't bother my eyes at all and my shadow stays on all day. I also have MAC's Prep and Prime base for eyes and that works good too. Sometimes I use both if I need real staying power. Does mascara bother your eyes too? I have a hard time w/ mascara making my eyes burn. I like Clique's Natural and Glossy for everyday and Lancome's Definicils for when I go out. Sometimes when I need to spend my money on other things than mascara (oh the horror!) I use Maybelline's Great lash b/c it doesn't bother my eyes but I hate how it clumps, feels so thick w/ one coat and is a pain to get off even though it's not waterproof.

A really great website for make up reviews is makeupalley.com .

Slightly off topic but it's still something you put on your face.

Anyone looking at sunglasses? :cool2:

There's a Jessica Simpson pair at Macy's that I want so bad!

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=353733&CategoryID=37644

I want them in black. I have two brown sunglasses already. Macy's said they are having a huge sale this weekend so I'm doing my best to hold out. But I've got a feeling Jessica Simpson will not be on sale. After all her handbags rarely ever go on sale. I don't want to spend that much on sunglasses, but these are really calling out to me. I am good about not losing my sunglasses. I have a pair of Coach sunglasses that I've had for three years. Of course I never throw them around the bottom of my beach bag. I have cheapies for that. It has been a while since I've splurged on a good pair. These are so cool! I may be powerless to resist. :upsidedow

Oooooh, I like those!

Oh, I like those sunglasses, too; however I am terrible about losing them so I usually go for the cheap ones.

me too! I totally hate that about myself. I am always conducting search and rescue missions for my sunglasses. I like those alot, if I could get them on sale or trust myself not to lose them I would get them in brown.

Makeup is definitely my guilty pleasure. I blow so much money at Sephora whenever given the chance...

Happy Mother's Day!

My DH got me a MAC 138 brush (yikes no way would pay the money they want for it) and a Mac gift card. Does anyone know if you can spend the gift card at the Company Store?

Hi everyone.............I LOVE this thread!!!!

I'm an absolute makeup fiend!!! You have a great thread going here.....lots of wonderful information!!!

Are any of y'all youtube makeup tutorial watchers? I have two people that I watch faithfully and I have used several of their looks and have gotten compliments on my eye makeup several times!! They are panacea81, who is really Lauren Luke and she is in the UK and the other is a precious girl who is emilynoel83 on youtube and she is a newscaster I think from Illinois but I could be wrong on that. They are so much fun to watch. Emily especially does alot of product review videos that have helped me tremendously. Beware though.......watching them is addictive!!!

I'm on the never ending quest to find my favorite mascara. I do like Lash Envy by Prescriptives but I would like to find a more inexpensive standby that I can just run out and get easily. This weekend I bought two to try.....the new Loreal Collagen mascara.....not sure if that is the whole name or not but it was in the newspaper flyers yesterday for CVS and also the new Revlon Double Twist mascara....although after reading some online reviews of that one I am considering bringing it back without trying it. I have the Loreal one on today and so far I'm liking it. I also got one of the new Cover Girl Color Blast Luxe mascara's over the weekend......hehe....see I told you I was a fiend!!! These are supposed to have a slight shimmer color to them. I got the platinum but for the life of me cannot see anything but black........anywho.....I do like the Color Blast mascaras so it wasn't a bad purchase...

About a week ago I got a Clarisonic Facial Cleanser. I had been wanting one for a LONG time and finally got one. I am REALLY pleased with it. The texture of my skin is awesome right now. I really didn't have large pores to begin with but I am 52 and I had a couple of brown spots on one side near my jawline and they have really faded alot. I use alot of Dr. Denese products from QVC and I'm not sure if it is the Clarisonic alone or the fact that it is helping these products to work better on my skin, but I am very happy with the Clarisonic purchase!!!!

Well I guess I made a long enough post for my first one in this thread....don't want to overstay my welcome....but I'll be back very often for sure!!!! I really need to try that Monistat....I use Laura Geller's Spackle right now.....but I'm always open for something new!!!

Bye for now!!

I honestly don't know.... but I would doubt it. I really don't know. Give 'em a call!

I have a girlfriend who watches them. She love's watching them.

I love Too Faced's Mascara - I've said it a million times. But - as runner up's to Too Faced's in no particular order is: Estee Lauder's More than Mascara, Clinique's Naturally Glossy and MAC's Pro Lash.

The Pro Lash is actually pretty cheap for how nice it is. Estee's is really, really nice - however, it's expensive. And IMO - there are too many other one's that are good, and not as pricey.

I AM JEALOUS!! GREEEEEN WITH ENVY about your Clarsonic Facial Cleanser thingee!! Those things look SO COOL!!! :thumbsup2 Let us know how it continues to work for you. Im curious.

How is everyone this Monday? I'm enjoying the warming of the weather - and pulling out my pinks and corals, for spring. I ordered my EverdayMinerals, and it came with 3 free shadow samples. (I went to look for a link, but I don't even think they have it anymore??)

There were 3 - but the one I fell in love with was Cotton Tail. It's a color I never would have chosen. A matte, very, very light gray. It's stunning, on. Just wonderful!!! :goodvibes

I'm really enjoying matte shadows, this year. I just love them on. I think I'm just sick of the shimmer (been shimmering for years now) Matte is just so fresh looking. Especially paired with a gloss like MAC's C-Thru??

I love Spring!!! :lovestruc

Hello and welcome my fellow 'perfect mascara' searcher!

Just wanted to say that of all my cheaper, drugstore mascaras, I absolutely LOVE my Loreal Duble Extend Mascara. It defines and separates very nicely. It also extends them as well. It never clumps, smudges, or flakes off. :thumbsup2

The only thing it doesn't do it volumizing.

Right now my Walmart has it in a two pack! Meaning buy one, get one free! Awesome deal. I was thinking of buying another package if I knew how to preserve it!

Good luck on your quest!

Ladies...There is now a Sephora in a JC Penney only 30 minutes from my house! I was there today, yippee!

I didn't get anything though. I'm on a "no buy" for a while(except for foundation when I run out). I did get two bathing suits though. Not for any important reason though. Just liked the suites :rolleyes1

CR, thanks for the lipglosses! I love the brown one and pink one. I gave the other to my mom. It was nice to come home from the mall after not buying any pretty glosses. I was eyeing up the Chanel Glossimers that everyone raves about on MUA. But I was strong. I didn't get the Jessica Simpson sunglasses either.

So tell me. What's good makeup to wear to Disney World in June/July weather? Not that I'm going or anything. You see, after I drop my daughters off at the airport next month to visit their dad for the summer, I will be doing absolutley nothing but waiting for my dear angels to return to me. There will absolutely NO FUN had by the mother.

But let's just say hypothetically, you decide to book a last minute, adults only trip, to the Polynesian no less, in June/July. What kind of makeup routine would you have? Also, is there anything fun to look at in the France shops at EPCOT? Not because I'm going or anything. Just something to think about for next time, whenever that may be.

shh....I'm so excited!!!!:yay:

so now that I have my honking big 138 brush I go to You Tube and watch the tutorials and find that now I want to get RCMA foundation...anyone ever used it. It is supposed to be highly pigmented and very good. It is like my addiction has taken me from recreational make up to the hard core stuff.

Also, has anyone used the NYX shadow? I also found that on You Tube and looked up some reviews it was supposed to be just like MAC for pigmentation but the cost is only 4.50 (!) at Ulta. I will get one shadow just to see if it is as good as they say. I am going to try and go back to Make Up Alley because I feel they probably have lots of reviews but I just hate the way the site is set up.

CR,

The make up show is May 17 and 18 in New York. I wonder if they will ever have it in Boston? Be still my heart!

Welcome, Nawlinslady! I second CR's recommendation on the Too Faced Lash Injection mascara. It takes some getting used to (at least for me), but it's one of the only mascaras that actually makes my lashes visible without a primer. Another one I recommend is Lancome's Fatale (used with a primer, for best results). It's also difficult to apply (worse than TF), but the results are amazing - especially when paired with TF pinpoint.

Speaking of lashes, I've been using the Latisse for almost 3 weeks now and my lashes are already noticeably longer. DH even noticed a difference, as well as my girls. After only 2 1/2 weeks!!! :yay: I'm very excited to see what they will look like after a few months. Sorry, though, the pictures we took didn't work out. You can't really tell anything - nothing like the photos in the Latisse promotion. Maybe DD just needs to work on her close-up eye shots.

MPA, your trip sounds fantastic - good for you for doing something fun while your girls are away. :) As far as a makeup routine for the Disney heat, I really don't do anything different other than make sure that I use primer every day. Sometimes I skip the eyeshadow primer at home because it tends to irritate/dry out my eyes, but at WDW - I use it every day. Also, the Stila Smudge pots or something similar for eyeliner. That way the only make-up I bring to the parks for touch-ups is a small container of foundation, finishing dust, and lipstick/lipgloss. This routine has always served me well in the past - no problem with make-up fading or melting off.

CR, I always, always use a matte eyeshadow. I love the shimmery look on other women, but for some reason I hate the way it looks on me. :confused3 I don't know, maybe it's because I'm too old? Or maybe my eyes are too small - I've noticed that the women it really looks good on have larger eyes.

Bella, you cracked me up with your 'hard core' makeup. :lmao:

I just noticed my countdown is wrong, darn it!! We're not leaving in 7 days, we're leaving in 9 days - I must've put the wrong date in there.
