We were here last September/October for the 50th and had a horrible time and almost swore off Disney. The CM’s seemed so angry and interactions with them were unpleasant.

Fast forward to today; we were not going to come back but had quite a few points to use up so come back we did (plus we bought an AP in September and figured why not use it again).

It’s actually been magical this time!!! The CM’s are going above and beyond once again— and we are excited about planning our next vacation as soon as we get back home.

From the clean rooms, the smiling CM’s, the activities on the boardwalk… Witt the exception of genie plus/Lightening lanes, we are happy again.

My one critique is the genie plus and lightning lanes. Wait times are horrendous and my kids would rather skip the rides and go to the pool, making it less relevant to have an AP or park hopper, and instead using our dvc as a resort (esp when we can snag bcv, not our home resort).

The magic is coming back!!

Great to hear! We have been a few times in Covid and fortunately it has always been magical for us with respect to CMs. Different obviously, but magical. If anything it was cranky (and sometimes just straight up obnoxious) guests and never CMs that we saw with respect to bad interactions. And like you, we are not fans of G+ and LL and ILL, so will be interesting to see how that may evolve over time. But good to hear you had a positive experience most recently.

Getting BCV was an awesome score! No wonder your kids would rather go to the pool instead of the parks.

Our post-COVID visits have also been lackluster but none of it was because of the CMs. Almost all of them were cheerful and helpful in spite of having to face cranky (sometimes irate) guests. I blame Disney for creating an atmosphere that contributes to guest dissatisfaction (specifically their heavy reliance on wonky technology and frequent attraction breakdowns).

I hope that your trip continues to be magical.

We leave for Disney on Sunday. I'm curious, do you still get a discount at the shops at Disneyworld with the DVC blue card? I looked on the DVC website and didn't see any park shops listed as getting a discount.

To be fair the sample size might have been small to reflect the overall population of cast members. You might have just been extremely unlucky on that previous trip =). However I am glad to hear that the magic is back for you! =)

You need to download digital proof on your MDE. Some CM’s recognize it, some seem confused by it. Have fun!

We will be arriving on Sunday as well. I am hoping the crowds will die down a little from what I have been hearing about this week.

I must admit, at basically every single register I go to I fan out the Disney Visa, the AP and the DVC membership card. I then just ask do any of these get a discount, and is any one better. Most places it is all the same, but for a while I believe the AP got a better merchandise discount than the Disney Visa.
I think Space 220 gives a 10% AP discount only for lunch, but a 15% DVC discount at dinner.

Back to the OP, this is good to hear. Next week will be our last trip on the current AP. I have been having a very hard time determining if I should renew our AP or not. All the same reasons we have seen a hundred times on this board. I too have found our previous trips over the past two years to be more lackluster than bad (we kept going back after all). As I keep saying, I do not mind paying a premium price, if I am getting a premium product.

Well, a few days to make that decision.

You need the digital Magic Mobile pass for show DVC Y. While some may take a copy of the digital card from the website, some will not.
