My family just booked for this cruise yesterday! We've always wanted to do a Transatlantic or Panama Cruise, so we're incredibly excited! pixiedust:

We are myself, DH, DW, DD16 & DD13.

We plan on doing a whirlwind 2 weeks in Europe before the cruise and then a week at WDW after. Because of that we're not going to be able to participate in the FE. Both my DDs would love to know kids their ages, especially since you all have said there are less kids on the longer cruises. :confused3

Our girls will be 14 and 13(cruise is a few weeks before her 14th bday) on this cruise

Hey everyone, just a quick check-in.

Mom's funeral was Tuesday, so we have some closure on that. Dad and I still have to go through her things, but neither of us is ready for that yet.

After all that stress, DH and I are headed to WDW for a week of R & R. Well, our version of R & R - I mean, it's Disney!

I will update the FE and Mojito lists when we get back. I'm hoping for a few weeks of relative calm to catch up on everything I've neglected for the past month.

Thanks again, for all your kind words and patience through this ordeal. I always knew it would be rough when the time came, but I had no idea it would be this hard.

Welcome aboard!!!:wave2:

Ever since a drunk driver hit me head-on and smashed my knees into the dashboard , they just haven't been able to handle the pounding. Cycling is another matter - but I think Disney may frown on that!

ANy reason you can't do your miles on the exercise bikes?

Just a heads up to the non-FB users.

A bunch of people are looking at doing an "Across the Atlantic" Marathon/Half Marathon/5k. Basically it would entail you running the appropriate amount of miles (depending on the race you choose) over the course of the cruise. You can split it up any which way you want (a mile a day, 13.1 in one day) and complete it at your pace. This is for walkers/runners/bunny-jumpers/or any way you can manage to get to the "finish line". You will get a certificate of completion and IF we get enough people signed up, we could possibly do a medal for a small nominal fee.

Any takers????

Count me in. :thumbsup2

We booked this cruise with opening day prices and used an OBB.

Now a special person in our life is getting married so we may not be able to go. Still awaiting the exact details to determine dates, vacation days etc.

If it comes to it-- won't cancel but try to move the OBB to another cruise.
Anyone have experience with that?

Don't want to lose the discount and OBC, but even sadder at the great rates we got for this cruise.

As long as you haven't booked concierge, you can easily move the booking to another cruise and you'll keep the 10% discount and your OBC. You have until the PIF date to make this switch so plenty of time to figure out what is going on. And if you need to switch, they may even have 2015 dates out by then and you'll find something just as fanstastic!!

If that counts, I'm in!

You'd be able to bike circles around me! :) running I can do... biking, eh I'd be hard pressed to do the 10K over the course of 14 days! Lol

I'm all for counting it, why not?? miles are miles, no need to worry if their had by walking, crawling, running, biking, whatever gets us to 26 miles. :goodvibes

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!
Back from a rather damp Western Caribbean 914-9/21.

I'm in, as a walker.

Sounds interesting as we usually walk a couple or three miles per sea day anyway on the cruises BUT how is this going to be monitored if people do it when they want? Or is it going to be more organised than that?
On the EBPC, we had log sheets with a line for each day. Every time I did a lap, I made a hash mark on the day. Never added it up until the end when I discovered I had done something like 28 miles in 14 days. Not too shabby for an old lady with a cane:thumbsup2

So for those five days at sea do they offer lots of activities? The most days at sea we have ever had were two I am a little worried that we will be bored by day three as we can't spend a lot of time at the pool.
Melissa

Honey, there are so many activities, you will wish you had your planner. Lectures on ports of call, nautical terms, etc every sea day. Animation classes, cooking classes, tastings, diaper dash for babies, bingo, meals, shows, character photo ops, shopping, engine room lecture, dvc presentations, castaway club meet, 3 d craft classes, ship tours, and that's just what I can remember this morning.

Happy day, all!

We have been on few longer cruises with lots of sea days - usually found them the best - lots of activities, but not running around a port/excursion.

Thanks for the reassurance about sea days. It's good to know we will have plenty to keep us busy. I have looked at the first page and need to pm some people about tastings which we have never done before. So looking forward to those cruise.

Definitely, do all the tastings.. :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:tongue:

It is a good cheap drinks (never walked away from a tasting sober yet), a great way to learn about the different alcohols and an excellent way to learn what exactly you do and do not like (which saves on purchases later).

I agree totally. We did the WBTA on the Magic in 2011 and the 5 continuous day at sea, where the best time we've ever had on any of the 8 cruises we've done. It was so wonderful to just totally relax for 5 days of of total bliss!!!!! Hard to put into words!!!
