From the person who was the most sober and did make it to dinner that night ..... some alcohol Stevie ?? ..... Tony and yourself had 3 painkillers to our one if I remember very vividly :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

In Sarah's defence though, we did make it safely back onto the ship and you boys went straight to bed. Sarah and I made our way to Plutos and got some scrummy fries to soak up the alcohol but, I understand that, as soon as you 3 hit your beds that night, none of you managed out until the next morning, but at least you had a good sleep and no-one woke up with a hangover, but did have some major sunburn :headache:

You're quite right Stevie, I think it is MandyGirl's fault for organising an amazing trip and leading us all astray on that beautiful beach with plentiful painkillers :rotfl2::rotfl2:

You were all plastered if my memory serves me correctly ;)

And the sunburn! Oh my goodness. It was a case of spot the lobster the next day!

I can of course be trusted, well most of the time:rotfl:, I always try to be good at being naughty. I don't know how you can remember the Tortola Bar incident, you also had to be helped to bed by your DH Tony and missed the evening meal due to alcohol yourself.:faint: Mary, my DW (Tod and Copper) did tell me you guided me to gangplank and thanks for that, I was drunk yet, just tipsy. Norman (RIP) has slight bit of blame, he shouldn't have forced that extra beers down me on the boat on the way back. It was a great day and a great cruises, lots of new friends and fun, plus some alcohol.

For everyone's info, I think the table at Palo was booked for 6 of us that night, however due to being led astray by Mandygirl (best ever day trip ever) to Jost Van Dyke only 3 people made it to dinner and certainly not Sarah (Notso-TotallyAngelic) and me, of course. I would say in my defence, that a cocktail of prescrbed medicine and sun stroke also played a part, I did actually get showered and dressed to get to dinner, however I took one look in the mirror and that sent me back to bed for the night:rotfl2:

I felt fine the next day apart from the sunburn.ouch!
The WBTA could be great fun:cool1: mined you the EBTA was great also

Excuse me Mr Kay .... I beg to differ on our version of events ... I may have been tipsy, but certainly not plastered, and only missed dinner because of a bad case of sunstroke / sunburn due to forgetting to sunblock on the boat trip back ... although the impact of the painkillers may have been to blame for the forgetting.:rolleyes:

Mary and I did make it up to Plutos for some fries and on our way there passed a certain gentleman asleep on a sun lounger wearing a pizza on his chest ... but fortunately I was still a little bit too tipsy to recall who that was exactly ;);) Tony was already crashed out before I even returned to the cabin and believe me would have been incapable of assisting me to do anything.

All in all it was a damn good day, etched in my memory as one of the best, and it will never be forgotten.:hug:

Can I change my DIS name to "Notso" ... I kind of like that :)

Not so: I think you maybe correct on some of the factual details, however please can I have the recipe for the cocktails called "sunburn" &"sunstroke" as I haven't heard of those cocktails.

As for the Pizza, I hate waste and was saving it for later and strangley I did get to see it again. Dont go there!!

Cant wait for these transatlantic's should be great cruises next year, with friends old and new.

Need my toes in the sand now

It was the most beautiful sand and beautiful beach I have ever seen :lovestruc I need to be back on those chairs at the edge of the water with Sarah and Margaret :)

I've seen the incriminating photos from the catamaran recently ..... I'm sure you girls were slightly inebriated too :rotfl2:

Booked yesterday. I will be solo so far and in 6550.

Hi there,

I too cruised solo on the last EBTA, my wife (Tod & Copper) allowed me to go as the price was great and not to be missed. I was at a loss prior to the boarding the cruise, however when I got on board I joined in a few events and met some great new friends who were also cruising solo, we stayed together and enjoyed each others company over the next 2 weeks. We had a great time, we didn't want to go back to the real world. It can be great fun, I know a few ladies that will be cruising again in either May on the EBTA and Sep on the WBTA. I am now banned from cruising solo by my wife, however I hope to be let "out on licence" and get another longer cruise under my belt when my wife forgives me.

This will be my first solo. Hope to join in the activities

There are several of us sailing solo on the WBTA!

Welcome aboard, it's going to be a great cruise.
I know Susan (Geffric) and some others from the 2008 cruise. Always wanted to do this and finally got up the courage.:goodvibes

Debs,

Thats dangerous talk, the only reason for not going together was Mary had no holidays left this year and she wanted to be at home during our daughters exams. I am retired, and can pretty much cruise anytime, this is due to my chronic pain condition and so a couple of weeks in the sun does really help me and my creaky bones.

Mary doesn't do so bad, in fact for most of the last number of years she has only spent a couple of days apart from Christmas/New Year in the UK.

Oh I am only joking.....I don't mean to upset you...

I understand what you mean and I can be difficult to get time off at work too also I am not allow to get times off work at Xmas times, I didn't know that you are retired... If I retired I think I go to DCL more often as it can be fantastic too also I have arthritis knee which can be very painful when the weather is cold or raining. I need warm weather to help my knee too.. and I am sorry to hear that you have chronic pain condition and sometime it can not be nice to have it.
