I am going to a luncheon this afternoon and there is a Champagne Hour at the beginning. I will be toasting the Champagne Girls today! Pace yourself Liz, pace yourself.

Oh my! You're adding curd?! Can I come, please?!!!!

Oh yes. I would double the recipe even if you plan to use the lemon curd between the layers. You may already know this trick, but I'll mention that there's a secret to keeping the curd from oozing out the sides of the layers, which is a mess when you're trying to frost the cake. On the top of the bottom layer, just put a ring of buttercream around the outer edge. That will keep the curd contained and in your control.

Let us know how your get together goes, and moreover, what a hit your yummy cake becomes with your friends!

Thanks for the tip about the buttercream edge and all the advice. Very excited to eat this cake and I haven't even started making it yet. Book club is Thursday, so it will have to wait until then!
What is your favorite baking book? I love "Baking from My Home to Yours" by Dorie Greenspan.

fantasy is probably my favorite and I really enjoy sci-fi also. I used to be a huge reader on trips but I've taken to keeping a journal which occupies a lot if my spare time. I'll definitely bring something though.

Do you ever watch "Once Upon A Time" on ABC? If you like fantasy, it is a good show & it pulls in many Disney storylines with a darker twist (Mulan, Beauty & the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, etc.) I started watching it by accident and ended up really enjoying the characters.

I'm still just figuring out what I want out of the cruise ... Do I want R&R, or 'go go go' ... Pretty sure I'll pass most of the cruise being slightly buzzed. We have plenty of time to figure it out.

I tend to go-go-go for the first two days and then I realize that I can take it easy b/c there are 12 more days The nice thing is that you can play it as you go!

I'm not Sherri, just wanted to chime in here: I LOVE Villains Tonight! It's my absolute favourite show so far on DCL! (Granted, I haven't seen the shows on the Wonder yet ...)

I'm Amy and my husband is Dave (DBK1029). I am MagicMe's daughter in law. This is scheduled to be our fifth cruise and second WBTA. We both love Disney. We actually met on a Disney dating site almost 7 years ago and got married in 2009.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with old friends and meeting new ones!

My boyfriends name is Kasper and he is 36
We are traveling alone, and leave our dog Walter (we find the name before the dog). He is a Danish/Swedish farmdog. He is 2 1/2 yo.
I have been to dlp almost 60 times and Kasper 4 times. We loves Disney, and we try to make it all Disney at home.
We have our 5 years anniversary the 6 September 2014

The Champagne will be supplied by DCL, I think they served Rosa Regale last time but i'd had several glasses by then so can't be sure...

So if I remember correctly from my Champagne tasting, Champagne is a sparkling wine that comes from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France. So only those sparkling wines can be termed "champagne". And I do know that they did serve Rosa Regale at the Champagne tastings (because that is my absolute favorite!!!).

Hi Everyone! I will be posting this to FB as well...

As of right now I am still waiting on a bunch of confirmations for the Praktik Rambla. PLEASE - If you are on the list - I need to know if you are wanting to stay there. The immediate need is confirmation on the room(s) you need. Once I have that I will compile the list and post it. Once the list is posted I will email or DIS PM everyone.

Payments for the hotel will be direct to them. The hotel will guarantee your room with a credit card number. I need to supply the list of rooms and occupants to the hotel by the end of March, 2013. Until March 2014 there will be NO charge on your card, and no penalty to cancel. In March of 2014 they will charge 10% of your total to the card - this is non refundable. The remaining 90% will be broken into 2 payments - the first in May and the final 45% in August.

As it stands - I have received more requests for the hotel than there are rooms. Due to this I have also reached out to their sister hotel - the Hotel Praktik Barcelona - about reserving a block of rooms there as well. I am waiting to hear the rates for this. If you are interested in that hotel, please let me know ASAP so I can gauge interest.
