Where are you? We are in Youngsville. Maybe a meet before the cruise will be in order;).

Hey Jen......I've already talked to disdel and he told me about you and your husband. We live on Hwy 401 near Louisburg. He said you two have cruised together and they may be coming to see you in July. We tentatively said we would try to get together when they come to NC. So looking forward to it! A meet would awesome! :thumbsup2 We come to Youngsville regularly....to Griffin's Restaurant, and the deli across the street. Know Youngsville well! Small world, isn't it!!!

I have a question!

Has anyone used the Airfare through Disney for their cruise? We looked at airfare to Barcelona and it is outrageous :scared1: for a one-way fare. The fare Disney has quoted is actually less than 1/2 the cost, and includes the return from Puerto Rico.

Actually I have 2 questions: (heehee) Are you able to select your travel date when using Disney airfare? We would like to arrive in Barcelona a couple of days before the cruise so we can play there. :woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks for any information you may have!

Our TA booked everything for us, including Disney Air. We were told that you can request a travel date.
Ours booked for us:
Cabin 6004
Airfare from BWI to Barcelona and from San juan back to BWI
Transfers from airport to hotel from hotel to port and from port tp airport
Overnight stay pre-cruise at the Barcelona Hilton
Insurance

One stop shopping...LOL

My DW Judith and I (Jimmy) look forward to meeting everyone, I am sure we will see some of you on the EBTA this May.

One package at a very good rate of just over 4K :joker:

I guess I will introduce myself now, I'm not frequently on the DIS posting (I have log in issues:confused3) but will let you all know who I am.

Hi:goodvibes I'm Jenn. I'm going to be celebrating my 35th birthday on board for this cruise, and I couldn't be happier:cool1: I live in Niagara Falls, Canada.....have spent my whole life here.

I have been working in the medical field for about 15 years now. I started working in Long Term Care (geriatrics) 15 years ago as a nurse. Geriatrics are where my heart are. I love working with elderly, and working specifically with mental health in geriatrics. As well, just after I started nursing, I made a major career change and became a Paramedic. As much as I love working in LTC, working out on the road everyday, being my own boss, is amazing. I never know what I will come into, one minute saving a life, another bringing life into this world.

I am looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know you:thumbsup2

Jenn:goodvibes

Hi Jenn, I am Jenn also. It is not often you find someone with 2 n's. I was an EMT between college and Pharmacy School while I figured out what I wanted to do, and my DH has been in EMS since 1989. He still works as a paramedic, teaches and is trying to get into a medical residency.

I bet a pin trading session would be popular.

I would be in for trading. They had lots of opportunities on the EBPC, with officer trading and the books from the shops out. Plus our friend found a bunch just watching the floor.

Hi everyone we are booked on this cruise :cool1:

We are DW Katty, Liliam (21 @cruise) and me Manny. Stateroom 6141

It will take me a while to catch up, lots of material to read here :goodvibes

Welcome aboard to both families, I will add you to the roll call on the first page. I look forward to getting to know you. :goodvibes

Great idea:idea::idea: thank you.

Book swap sounds great. It was wonderful to have on our last cruise. Got to read a few books I would never have glanced at otherwise and loved them.

Loving the idea of a book exchange.

I admit the book swap idea wasn't mine - but I really like it too and am looking forward to organizing it. I'm always having difficulty timing my reading exactly so that I can start a new book when going on vacation, and traveling with a half-finished book always seemed like a waste of suitcase space. Now I'll just take the half-finished one anyway, and exchange it for a different one onboard. Any other sci-fi and fantasy readers out there? :)

Time to introduce ourselves ... My husband Chris and I have been together for 12 years, and married for almost 5. While we do not have any children (and that probably won't change anymore, as I am turning 40 this year :crazy2:), we have the honour of being allowed to care for the three most wonderful cats in the world (;), you can see them in my avatar picture).

We live in a little house in the suburbs of a big city in Northern Germany where I work with books, DH works with computers - and when we don't work, we love travelling, reading, cooking (well, that's more me than DH :thumbsup2), playing board games and meeting friends.

The love for Disney was brought into our family by me - or more specifically by my dad, who took me all the way across the ocean to WDW when I was 5, and then again when I was 8, and again at 11. I introduced DH to all things Disney when I convinced him to spend a few days at Disneyland Paris in 2005 ... and since then not only have we been back there, but we have also spent two vacations at WDW (one of them our honeymoon :lovestruc).

Disney Cruise Line is pretty much completely unknown in Germany as there is no advertising whatsoever for it, and I have even spoken to a couple of German travel agents who had never even heard of it. Therefore, when we tell people about our favourite cruise line we pretty much always get blank stares :)

So we discovered DCL not in Germany, obviously, but while reading up on Disney when preparing for our honeymoon, and then again by talking to several people who had cruised DCL when we were at WDW.
Never having cruised before, we decided to give it a try, and here we go - with one Western Caribbean, one Mediterranean, one Canada/New England and one NYC Bahamian cruise (all on the Magic) under our belts, we are going on the Panama Canal Cruise this May and thus reaching Gold status just in time for next year's WBTA :cheer2:

While I know hardly any of you yet from prior cruises, I am really looking forward to getting to know you all here on the boards and then finally next year in person!

Hmmm, since we are such a widespread, seemingly Disney-obsessed
( and ACTIVE) bunch, how about a listing in "Claire's Top 10 (or 20, or ?) Activities" ? Anyone could post the dates of any scheduled visits to WDW or DL prior to Sept. 2014, and we'd see who we might meet up with. We should be at WDW sometime this July. I think I could do it as a GoogleDoc link like the Stateroom Tour. Reminder, still need volunteers for a lot of Categories! See Page 2 of this Tread for an explanation, or just Click on this link to join in!

Nice deal, Jimmy & Judith. Welcome:cheer2:

Thanks, Annichan, for handling this, hopefully we can participate, we are both voracious readers. Now DW has a Kindle, I still cling to books.
On the 2010 EBTA, I brought 6 books. I didn't finish one:rolleyes1!!!!
Too much to do all day, every day, and this group looks even busier:woohoo:
And I see you'll be on the Panama Canal Cruise in May - so jealous! We had to cancel on that, sigh. I know you'll have a great time.

As some of you saw on Facebook yesterday, I managed to talk my husband into this cruise. My sister Vickie and I were on the 2011 WBTA and had a blast with a lot of you. Claire, please add us to roll call. Sue, Paul and Vickie. Cabin # 6624. It's a long way off but very excited nonetheless to see all of you again.

Good morning everyone! :) trying hard to keep up rotate but it's a very stressful time at home as we have problems with my daughter at the moment. :(

Welcome to anyone new to the cruise, and happy to see so many friendly faces aboard.

I'll try and keep up with everything but if not I shall be lurking as often as possible.

Have a good week everyone :)

Hi everyone! Please know that I am reading, but my phone + multiquote doesn't work well. Welcome to our new posters, and thank you to all our organizers. :thumbsup2. And who knew there is also an Angry Michele? Mike will be happy to know he's not alone!

We know a few of you from previous cruises and the WBTA 2010. :cool1:

For those who don't know us, we are Mike & Jodie, collectively known as Modie. Like Brangelina minus $180 million minus 9 inches of height plus 100 pounds and minus something named a Shiloh. Plus we're only famous in our own heads.

We will comfortably be 40-something when this cruise comes around. We both work 24x7x365 jobs, and often opposing tours and opposing weekends. Our vacations are one of the few "us times" we get to have. So, please, please, please don't be offended if we don't link dining reservations or forget to show up at a meet. I promise I don't sign up for stuff that we have no intention of attending. Michael and Michele may remember us showing up 30 minutes late to a tasting because we screwed up the time. Annika and Chris will attest that we missed a DIS meet because we were having too much fun drinking at Signals. Sometimes we get too caught up in what we're doing (or not doing) to keep schedules on vacation. If we make it to dinner 3 nights in a row to the dining room, we are on a roll, baby!

I will post a pic one of these days, and if you see us out and about, please join us. For a drink. Because we're usually drinking.

You are so close to us. We are off 96 on your way to Youngsville:). PM me your phone and we will arrange a meet up when Ken, Deb and another cruise couple are her in July.

FLY4FREE: I just realized it was you! Evelyn, you were my Secret Mickey recipient onboard the TA a few years ago. I gave you a sparkly Mickey brooch. I hope you liked it!

I received a fantastic snowglobe of Mickey in the UK. I'm not sure who my Secret Mickey was, but if it was any of the brits on this board, know that I really liked my gift! :goodvibes
Liz, I LOVE IT, pixiedust:, you could not have picked anything any better, I'm a "Sparkle" kinda gal:thumbsup2, I get so many complements on it. People ask "Where did you get that", I smile and say, It was from a secret admirer :cool1::cool1:, well, it's kinda true :rotfl2::rotfl2: can't wait to do it again.

So you are Mike & Jodie not Alex and Nessa....how did you choose your screenname?

Evelyn, I'm so glad to hear that you liked it!! We made a special trip to World of Disney to pick it out. But I must confess, your daughter (Mrs. D or Mom D? Something like that) gave me some tips. ;) I sent her a message asking what you'd like and she told me how you love bling!

Glad to be cruising with you again! :goodvibes

Hi Liz. I know, that screws everyone up. Alex and Vanessa are our cats. Or, Nessa was. Bless her sweet heart, she died in 2007. :worried: Now we have Savannah. :)

On our 2010 WBTA, someone developed an awesome website where we could upload our pics, put our names, ages, stateroom, dis names, which dinner seating we had ... I loved it! is anyone savvy enough to do something like that again? Made it so easy for a scatterbrain like me to keep everything straight!

We have the same affliction - Easily absorbed by 'what's happenin' now". The greeting card company calls it "living for the moment":rotfl: And we get the whole vacation vs. daily grind issue, we had similar work conditions for years, but now I'm retired and DW now works as a school nurse, so we got to leave that behind:banana:

:scratchin oh, okay, we can be persuaded :drinking1
from northern NJ,

Ken, you are close to the City, then? We live in Lopatcong (using Phillipsburg's Post Office).

Yes, we're in Wayne - 20 miles, and I'm parked in the Port Authority Bus Terminal, or 20 miles and I'm through the GW Bridge tolls. I was born & raised in NYC, my folks are still there, and I keep a boat in The Bronx, right near the Throggs Neck Bridge. I'd guess you're about 60-70 miles from me, you're almost to Pennsylvania, off 78, right?
