Can someone please explain to me why a post I have written has been edited by someone other than myself without any communication to myself by way of explanation. The email address for our FE group is not showing up on my post ... I am trying to assist a fellow cruiser here in response to a request. Is there some DIS rule about not allowing email addresses in posts now, or are we simply not allowed to organise FE groups outside of the DIS itself.

I would greatly appreciate an explanation :mad:

The whole email adress is banned I saw. Also on the front page.
What is this for a ridicullous thing going on here on DIS.
Someone can change your posts. That is not accepteble.

How many years have we been looking forward to the next WBTA? Literally folks were putting up a hopeful rollcall after we all disembarked the 2011 WBTA and DCL didn't schedule a near-future WBTA like we hoped. So we finally have one, and someone is blatantly trying to sabotage the DIS events? I really don't get it. :confused3

I know I was gone 5 weeks for EBTA/Europe this summer, missed some childish behaviors here about some being disgruntled activities are already full (yes, DCL has a maximum allowed for Palo brunch due to room size - not something I made up), the whole thing about some folks wanting different colored lanyards based on which WBTA they have been on in the past, and now this? Who is seriously against this cruise having a Fish Extender exchange??? They have been fun on the past three DCL cruises we did (I know, I know, only three DCL cruises so I know absolutely nothing according to some). I just have never witnessed this sort of behavior on any of the other cruiselines we have been on. (Yes, I said it out loud, we cruise other lines other than Disney - waiting for the flames now.)

Sigh. So sorry people's hard work is being treated like this.

It does not appear that your post has been edited at all. It looks like the email address has been placed in the site word filter and is automatically replaced by ***.

Email addresses are certainly allowed, but any word or link in the filter won't appear on the site (... and please do not try to creatively bypass the filter as that is not allowed).

:cheer2:WELCOME ABOARD to all the new cruisers:cheer2: This will be our fourth TA, and it's just an amazing cruise experience.
Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Hasn't been much occasion to think about this cruise, but as of today, our home renovations are officially DONE! WOO HOO!
We haven't paid much attention to this cruise lately, either, since we have another one coming up in Sept. and have just been busy with real life problems lately. Haven't been on Dis in ages. Congrats on finishing your renovations...you must be thrilled!!! I hope it's all you hoped it would be.

Isn't this just craziness??? This is a wonderful vacation that people plan and save for, only to have petty nonsense cast a shadow on the fun of it all. No flames here....we're doing NCL next month and I am always open to other lines for a great deal. I love DCL for the longer cruises but am even beginning to reconsider this one. There are obviously some people in the group that thrive on drama and don't want the experience to be "Magical"...I just don't get it :confused3.

Dear Webmaster Thank you for your explanation. I can not think why a sign up email for a FE group would be filtered as there is certainly no dodgy wording in that email address. I would not know how to creatively bypass a filter either nor would I have any reason to try. It just makes things really difficult for our cruise group having our FE sign up email in the filter. I would assume as moderator you would be able to sort this out and make things easier for this cruise group. Thank you.

Hey you! I hear ya. WBTA 2011 and EBTA 2013 were both awesome. We booked this one on opening day, and have looked around after reading the drama here over the months, but opening day prices were so good and we want to see the Magic's refit. Plus hubby just had vacation approved two days ago in the first round of bidding, so we have these dates locked in (he has to bid in August for all of following year). Now we are looking at doing some mission work abroad prior to the cruise. I didn't realize the FE email address had such a name that violated rules - it had been on the front page previously.

The NCL 12-night cruise we did in June from Barcelona to Venice had a fantastic itinerary, and was less than half the cost of the DCL 12-night cruise. Enjoy your cruise next month!! :)

We're also looking forward to seeing the "new" Magic. DH wants to do a "quickie" after the retrofit but before the TA...don't really see that happening, though. Yes, the initial pricing was fantastic. The mission work sounds like a wonderful idea! What a great way to teach your girls about helping their fellow man.

I'm assuming that anything related to Hazel and Annie was deleted; I doubt it was the email address or the content, just their connection to it. Very unfortunate, indeed.

Who's hazel and Annie?

I do believe you are correct in that the listed email is/was connected to an account that is banned which has caused it to filter. I do not believe the DIS has anything against organizing cruise activities or using a different email address.

We just returned from our 8/5/13 Alaska sailing on the Wonder -- and signed up for this TA sailing while on the ship. This will be our 5th Disney Cruise (Three were 1 week itineraries and we had a 2 week sailing on the EB Panama Canal in December 2012). Mom, Dad, 10 y/o daughter and 8 y/o son.

You're all an active group--I can't believe you're already up to 200 pages.
Cheers

Welcome aboard!:cheer2::cheer2: We are just about to get aboard the Wonder for its last sailing in 2013-- September 2. Any suggestions or excursions would be gratefully appreciated!
And the page count is already almost 200 here!!! Whew!

This is on point. Why doesn't someone create a NEW e:mail address so people can sign up for the FE? As long as the new e:mail is not associated with the banned account, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Once a new e:mail address is picked, edit the post and list the new e:mail.

Welcome aboard! We were also on the EBPC...wasn't it incredible? We're doing Alaska, but on another line next month. What did you think of the Alaskan cruise? (as if there is any possibility you didn't love it!:rolleyes1)

Alaska was great--we did the train in Skagway and enjoyed it (it's a small little town, but seemed to be more real than the other ports. If you walk up the RR tracks after crossing the bridge near 2nd Street you can find little areas where the salmon congregate (if they're still running) and get up close enough to touch the fish -- a very small salmon run compared to Ketchikan. Skagway Brewing company wasn't anything special, but it was fun stop to grab a meal and drink locally brewed beer. We rented a car in Juneau and went up to Mendenhall Glacier, but they run bus service up there too (be sure to check out the bear viewing platform while there). There's the famous Tracy's crab shack in Juneau -- good place to sit down and grub (it's literally a shack and it's outside dining only). Ketchikan had 1000s of salmon running -- best viewed if you take the trail along historic Creek Street and when it gets to the ladder (non-obvious, but it's at the bridge) be sure to go across the street and continue to follow the river (way easier to view the fish).

1. Has anyone figured out the best way to determine what's a reasonably priced airfare to get to/from Barcelona and P.R.? I can't seem to find any historic pricing info.

2. What's the best airfare tracker/notification site out there (Kayak?)?

Thanks

K wait, whaaaa????

Hazel and Annie are banned? I obviously haven't been around to know why (I'm on vacation at Cedar Point!).

So....who is organizing FE now? So confused.

My strategy is always to use miles for the one-ways. Some people book a RT and then just don't use the other half and it's cheaper. We only fly United (to get Premier status), so we book 330 days out (which is their window). Other airlines have different time frames.

Not sure about the tracker, but don't use airfarewatchdog. That place sucks. Didn't give us any good info, and will send you emails until you stop them -- even when you say when you're flying and obviously don't need the flights after that.
