Ok finally digging a bit in the excursions... I know it's a holy day in Malaga, that the Picasso Museum is closed and also the castle... What are the excursions proposed by DCL? or what are you doing? thaaanks

For us its a really cheap route in Sept, this year we have paid about $130 to Barcelona then $350 back from Florida to the UK.
We are not too bothered about ports, never been to Madeira and would enjoy CC.
Everything sounds perfect for us, only sticking point is the dates, would have liked to have spent 2 weeks in Florida after the cruise but its a bit late in Sept to get DS back in time for University early Oct (maybe send him home early and us stay out there)
Sounds like it's ideal for you! Madeira is beautiful; take a tour of the central or western parts of the island if you have time. We've been there on two TA's and would happily visit again. I'm excited to see how Tenerife compares. And I love, love, love CC. I'm going to miss it on the WB this year :(.

Just a friendly reminder that the FE list will be closing on Saturday. If you wish to be added or removed from the list please message me before Saturday.
The list is being broken down into groups of 18-20 staterooms. If you wish to be in more than one group, please let me know
Thank you

CALLING THOSE PLATINUM CRUISERS and from today GOLD too - those who have booked their port excursions. Are there any divers amongst you and did you book with Disney for St Maarten. It's the only port on the WBTA that is offering a 2 tank dive. It's there on the list but when we went into our booking this morning to book our tours (we are Gold) it wasn't on offer. Richard is slightly miffed  to say the least as this happened a couple of years ago when we went to Tortola - Disney pulled the Diving packages!! :confused3 Anybody know anything before we ring up later?:)

I was confused as well seeing the 2 tank dive excursion on the list for St Maarten but when actually tried booking discovering it's not offered for WBTA which I thought was strange. I haven't called DCL but at the moment assuming it's not going to be offered for our cruise.

I finally found an operator, who offers post-cruise-tours with airport transfer and allows Kids under 5 :cool1:

We are now going on a tour to El Yunque rainforest, before being dropped off the airport to catch our 6:15pm flight back to Frankfurt. :yay:

btw...anyone currently holding a 6A and thinking of an upgrade? We might be interested in upgrading from a 9A to your cabin :rolleyes1

Hi -

We did ring DCL and the person there was quite helpful and tried to book on her system and when she couldn't she went off to make further enquires. She told us that the Vendor of that excursion had pulled it for the day we are in port.
We asked for the name of the vendor so we could contact them but she said she wasn't allowed to give that information and suggested that we just keep looking at the shore excursions in case it gets put back!!!

We emailed Disney last Sunday 25th and asked if they could give us the contact details for the Diving Vendor as we would like to contact them. We wanted to say to them that seeing they had pulled out of offering their services for the day we are in port could they recommend another Dive Shop with a good safety record that we could contact and use as we didn't want to lose the opportunity to dive at their island.

We pointed out to Disney that they had done this to us on the WBTA in 2011 when they cancelled Diving on Tortola at the last moment and they are disappointing a lot of divers on board their cruises. As we have more islands to visit that do have many Dive shops with their pulling power they could easily make a substitute.

We are still awaiting an answer!:rolleyes1

Just received a reply from DCL this morning and this is what it said....quote:-

Dear Richard

Thank you for choosing another Disney Cruise Line vacation.

We regret the disappointment expressed in your email. It is not our
intent to upset our loyal Disney Cruise Line Guests.

Although we are unable to provide the company that we sometimes partner
with for our scuba excursions, it does not stop our Guests from
exploring
companies on their own.

Please feel free check the tourist information provided at: http://www.sint-maarten.net/index.html.
Or, if you prefer, you may search the internet for diving opportunities
at that port of call or others you will be visiting.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance with any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing again with you and Susan in September.

Have a Magical Day!

So it's up to each individual to find a Dive shop they like the look of and book - I'll post anything I find.

Fingers crossed.

I didn't realize the castle was going to be closed in Malaga. I think it was listed as part of our Mijas and Malaga tour, so my brother will be very disappointed!

Has there been confirmation?

Website I just looked at shows closing dates as: Closed 1 Jan, 28 Feb & 25 Dec

Sue, I had a look on Google, and I am thinking it might possibly be this operator since they mention they offer their tour to DCL also ... http://www.stmaartenexcursions.biz/reefscubadivingbyboat.html

Hi there! My fiance (Marc),me (Meghann), my Aunt (Dany) and her friend Therèse would like to join the fun and the FE.
We would be in two different staterooms but as we booked GTY staterooms, we don't know our room number at the moment.
Can you add us without it?
Thank you so much and have a nice day!

Annichan - thanks for the link. Richard has now booked his dive with someone who is very near the ship when it docks so doesn't have to get local transport. The people he used were recommended by the people that Disney use so should be equally as good.

Thank goodness I now have a happy husband in the house!!! :goodvibes

See you soon!
